What Is Patterico Worth?

I finally went to that site that supposedly tells you how much your blog is worth. See if you can guess how much it said my blog is worth, and then check your guess against the actual results, which are below the fold.

I swear I am not making this up.

I always suspected this, but it’s a little demoralizing to have it confirmed by such an official-looking site.

  2. Oh, this is even more hilarious. My tiny little blog was worth over $80,000, and Patterico which gets links from Malkin, Reynolds, and other big names is worth 0.

    I’m beginning to wonder if they just have a random number generator. Or maybe some kind of hash on the blog url.

  4. Yeah, it says mine is worth $0 too. I think it’s broken. Only thing I can figure is we both run wordpress and maybe that affects it somehow.

    Obviously popularity drives the price down.

  10. I was really hoping that my website would be worth more than Patterico, but, alas, it was worth exactly the same amount. I put in the URL for an older blog that I had (some of the same material, but with virtually no traffic), and still came up with zero.

    Then I went to the website of a lady I know who is about as far out wild-eyed leftist as anyone can be (she has claimed that the September 11th attacks, even though planned and training begun for during the Clinton Administration, was meant as an attack directed personally at President Bush, and that Osama bin Laden would have called it off had Al Gore managed to fabricate enough votes in Florida to have stolen won the 2000 election), and which has had only one update since last April (an anti-Tom DeLay article was posted on October 17th), and found that it was worth $564.54!

    If my site is worth zero, but it costs me a couple hundred dollars a year to maintain the hosting service, does that mean it’s actually worth the hosting fee, and the Technocrati site simply reflected the net balance, or does that mean the whole thing is actually a liability?

    Well, I’ve had 9836 visitors, total, since the site was established last December, and mine’s worth zero. Since our honored host has just passed two million, shouldn’t he be deeply in debt?

    But now you’ve had at least 1101!
