We Just Want the TRUTH! . . . Even if We Have to Lie to Get It

You gotta keep a close eye on these anti-war protesters.

They’ll pretend to have children when they don’t . . .

MoveOn.org is leaving nothing to chance as it tries to make Sheehan into a national icon. It supplied demonstrators with advice on media relations. . . . “We’re also asking that you bring pictures of children,” MoveOn.org requested, and it didn’t matter “whether or not you have a child serving in the military.”

(h/t Sachi.)

They’ll pretend to be former Republicans turned Democrat by their shame over the war . . .

(He’s actually a Democrat, and has been for years.)

. . . all as they repeatedly scream their slogan:

BUSH LIED!!!!

  1. You forgot the “first time” protestor who turns out to be a 30-year veteran activist.

War is bad for children even if they’re not yours.

    Whats his party registration?

  3. What a target rich environment. Lefty capacity for pretense is limitless, examples abound. I’m going to delay my gratification on this one for a day or so, just to whet the appetite and get the juices flowing. This i going to be a whole lot of fun.

    Lying is bad, Acthole.

  5. actus,

One of the most successful tactics in the history of battle has been to defend, then attack. Let the enemy draw himself in too close and exhaust his strength in futile aggression, then counterattack and finish him off.

You truly don’t see how the Dems (and you!) have been falling for this same tactic, time & again, to be defeated regularly in counterattack w/each election, do you? That’s like, amazing to me. Head-shakingly amazing.

The guy in the photo is on record as consistently donating to Dem candidates and only to Dem candidates. Yet still you attack – futilely, since the proof is a matter of public record – and wonder why you keep losing.

A learning curve is supposed to actually curve, you know. Either yours doesn’t, or you must secretly want the R’s to win. C’mon, confession is good for the soul: which is it? Are you playing the fool, or the phony?

  6. It appears that the Democrats are learning from the Republicans that the end justifies the means.

Meanwhile, speaking of dishonesty, Tom Delay has been indicted. Everyone knows Delay, who’s this Jeb Eddy cat anyway?

  7. “Lying is bad, Acthole.”

Its a lie to hold a picture of a child? War hurts children. I don’t have any kids and I know that.

“The guy in the photo is on record as consistently donating to Dem candidates and only to Dem candidates. Yet still you attack – futilely, since the proof is a matter of public record – and wonder why you keep losing.”

The thing is that giving to democrats is something that someone ashamed of the GOP would do I have a friend who self describes as Republican. She gave to Kerry and voted for him because of the anti-gay bigotry she saw on the right. I’ve tried telling her she’s a democrat — specially when she calls herself fiscally conservative — believe me I want her to identify that way, but to no avail.

  8. Its a lie to hold a picture of a child?

When that child is not your own, and you don’t disclose that, then of course it is. And if you do disclose it, then what the hell message are you trying to send? “Hey, everybody, I’m some idiot holding up some kid I don’t even know to make some irrelevant point about some cause I don’t know much about anyway.”

    War hurts children.

War hurts everyone involved, but if there’s one group it hurts the least, it’s American children who don’t serve in the military, and for whom today’s wars will be an historical footnote by the time any of them do. Bringing up The Children is a tired distraction technique, and not a particularly creative one at that.

I don’t have any kids and I know that.

With all due respect, Acthole, you don’t know your ass from a hole in the ground.

  9. Actus,

Wow, I spelled out the entire strategy for you and you still repeat the error. Well, as they say, it’s just as important to have the right opponents as the right allies.

My only concern – listen up, I ain’t baiting you here, I’m quite serious – is that you make it too easy to refute your silly points, thereby depriving us of a proper argumentative workout.

If that’s the best you can do, please – and again, in all seriousness – just keep quiet and learn, and don’t come back till you know how to make a proper argument. You are boring, actus. Stop ruining it for everyone else here, R & D alike.

  10. “When that child is not your own, and you don’t disclose that, then of course it is”

Disclose what? Anti-choice activists don’t disclose their relations to fetuses pictures they use, why anti-war?

“War hurts everyone involved, but if there’s one group it hurts the least, it’s American children who don’t serve in the military, and for whom today’s wars will be an historical footnote by the time any of them do.”

And they’ll be paying for it. But who says the pictures of children are of american children? And who says the war on terra (and iraq) will be over by the time these kids grow up? And who says that even if these points aren’t correct to you, they’re not the ones that are subjectively the viewpoint of moveon. “Lets do it for the children” is a cliche, but not a lie.

“With all due respect, Acthole, you don’t know your ass from a hole in the ground.”

I am certainly clueless as to what Isteve is.

    actus (ebc508)

  11. So, “fake but accurate” is now an acceptable standard in all forms?

    Media? Rathergate. Check.
    Protests? Moveon. Check.
Courtroom testimony? Bill Clinton’s “it’s just about sex”. Check.

Truth apparently isn’t very meaningful to the likes of actus.

Yet, these are the same ones who scream “Liar!” at the idea that there might be mistakes in intelligence assessment.

    Good to know.

  12. I am certainly clueless as to what Isteve is.

That’s just as well. He (Steve Sailer) was just a random example of an ass, who unfortunately has yet to fall into a hole in the ground.

  13. War is bad for children, and adults. Not fighting a war when you need to usually ends up being worse. A reasoned debate to understand which is which is always to be appreciated. “Bush Lied” does not count as reasoned debate.

If Descartes lived today, I’m not sure if he would have come up with “I think, therefore I am”. If he did, he wouldn’t get tenure or be a Democrat.

    ….is the art of hypocrisy.

    Media Lies (11ee8e)

  16. What are these moveon.org clowns thinking, anyway? They can’t possibly believe they are making points with people who have a career with the military by referring to them as a bunch of children. Demanding that congressmen “send their own children to Iraq” is sort of silly too, considering how hard it is to “send” a 19-year old child anywhere, or “make him” do much of anything.

  17. Interesting to see how they stereotype Republicans–well groomed, white male dueling scar on face.

Yes, LO, it’s because this is their comprehension of intelligence operations (and the world in general):

Hell, it should be an all-kid protest.

  20. Y’know, it’s so obvious I should have seen it right away. Tim Blair would’ve.

Look at the guy’s head. He’s trying not to, but there it is: just a bit of a tilt. Oh, no, the compassionate head tilt! He’s a Democrat!

    ras (f9de13)

  21. Disclose what? Anti-choice activists don’t disclose their relations to fetuses pictures they use, why anti-war?

Yes obviously someone would assume the picture of a fetus held up by a prolife activist is their own aborted fetus.
