  1. Josh Marshall: Patterico Part of “Subculture of SpongeBob-Dobson-Smackdown Enthusiasts”

I would go further: “Patterico, a Dobson apologist and symphatizer.”

  2. Nonsense. I am on the side of accuracy and truth and need make no apologies.

Evidently you believe that, as long you don’t like a guy, it’s okay to say any old damn thing about him whether it’s true or not?

  3. I must ask…why no comment on the Jeff Gannon/James Guckert issue?

  4. Does anyone know if Josh Marshall has ever made any sense at all at any time?

Fantastic, when can we expect you to turn your keyboard on the “Jeff Gannon/James Guckert” issue and its relation to White House Payola?

  6. Interesting that they so blatantly stated something untrue that they were bound to be challenged on. Brings to mind the “pathological liar” behaviors of some individuals. Lying when they don’t have to, saying things that are obviously false, and persisting in the behavior after being repeatedly caught.

  7. The more I think about it, the more I think that Marshall may have been the orginiator of the
“Dobson called Sponge Bob gay” story. The New York Times article he originally linked to made no such claim. I suspect that Marshall read the article hastily and misinterpreted it. Since he is one of the most widely read bloggers, Marshall’s mistake could easily have caught on with others. The power of the blogosphere strikes again – but unlike Rather, Guckert, and Jordan, Dobson was innocent.
I don’t understand why Marshall, who is usually scrupulously honest and fair, can’t just admit he made a mistake and move on. He jumped all over Steve Sailer when Sailer mischaracterized Marshall’s doctoral dissertation.
