The Jury Talks Back

Lone 2020 Democratic Candidate Says No Abortion In Third Trimester Unless Severe Risk To Woman

Well, apparently the Little Aloha Sweetie isn’t just a pretty face and hard body. What she is, at least with regard to the issue of abortion, is a Democrat who can think for herself, and is willing to break rank with the 2020 Democratic death-mongers who support abortion through the third trimester. Here is Gabbard confirming that life in the womb is, well, just that:

In an interview with Dave Rubin yesterday, Hawaii congresswoman and Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard conceded that abortion should not be permitted during the last three months of pregnancy unless the mother was at severe risk.

Gabbard told Rubin she views abortion in a “libertarian” way, saying she doesn’t think government should be dictating women’s choices. “I think that there should be some restrictions though,” she added. Rubin asked if she had a “cutoff point,” to which she replied: “I think the third trimester. Unless a woman’s life or severe health consequences is at risk, then there shouldn’t be an abortion in the third trimester.”

Gabbard’s comments come on the heels of 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg crassly attempting to justify abortion through the third trimester by suggesting that pro-life Christians should consider that life begins with the baby’s first’breath’:

Buttigieg discussed how the Bible talks about life beginning with breath, and suggested this would be one way to determine when life began in relation to abortion debates.

He said Republicans hold everyone in line with doctrine about abortion.

” … which is obviously a tough issue for a lot of people to think through morally,” Buttigieg said. “Then again, there’s a lot of parts of the Bible that talk about how life begins with breath, and so even that is something that we can interpret differently.”

He added that he’s pro-choice.

“I think, no matter what you think about the kind of cosmic question of how life begins, most Americans can get on board with the idea of, alright, I might draw the line here, you might draw the line there, but the most important thing is the person who should be drawing the line is the woman making the decision,” the South Bend mayor continued.

Obviously abortion is here to stay, and we’re not talking the quaint “safe, legal and rare” model. I’ll just say once again: It’s absolutely mind-boggling that every Democrat running to become the next president of the United States is willing to go to the mat to make sure babies in the womb can be killed up to the point of birth…or when they take their first breath.

Except Tulsi Gabbard.

( Gabbard really has nothing to lose at this point in the campaign. She didn’t make the cut for the third Democratic presidential debate, and it looks like she’ll sit out the fourth debate as well.)
