But Of Course: Democratic Candidates Begin To Weigh In On Betsy Ross Flag Kerfuffle
[guest post by Dana]
I only hope the rest of the pack follows the lead of these bold candidates. Oh come on, you knew the Betsy Ross “controversy” would make it to the Woke Olympics. Especially after the Democratic candidates have already settled the debate about the earth’s slow demise (12 years, people!), abortion up to the point of birth and no care for babies if they brazenly survive the sharp blade (It’s my body, not theirs!), and busing 2019 (Make Busing Great Again!).
Via Twitchy: from Beto O’Rourke:
“I think its really important to take into account the impression that kind of symbol would have for many of our fellow Americans, respect the decision Nike made and grateful for the conversation [that it is provoking]
And from Julian Castro:
I was glad to see Nike pull the Nike Betsy Ross American flag shoes.
“There are a lot of things in our history that are still very painful. The Confederate flag that still flies in some places and is used as a symbol…”

I’ll be checking throughout the day to see if any of the other candidates will courageously voice their disdain for the Betsy Ross flag. America needs to hear from them! I’m sure Joe Biden is preparing his comments as we speak:
What were all these candidates doing in 2013 anyway??
