The Jury Talks Back

Your Stormy Daniels Thread

I didn’t watch it.

But after signing a crap omnibus that can’t be defended, President Trump needs his defenders back. Specifically, he wants you to defend him for having sex with a porn star while his wife was pregnant. How dare the porn star reveal this! Get indignant with her. Make me proud.

Bonus points for making me the bad guy for something I said in the previous paragraph.

CORRECTION: Trump had sex with a porn star shortly after his wife gave birth, not while she was pregnant.

UPDATE: My post at RedState is “You Remind Me Of My Daughter” — Trump To Stormy Daniels. I am watching the interview now. It’s here.

  2. Blaming Trump for signing the omnibus is fine (I do as well, and also not opposing it during draft) but please, let’s not forget where the other half of the blame lies; with the Republican congressional leadership.

As for the Stormy Daniels thing, to me the big question is, what’s the real game afoot here? Why, exactly, was this woman willing to risk major legal consequences for breaking the NDA, and give back the money, to do this? I suspect that the answer can only be $$$, and I think it would be illuminating to find out what and who are involved in the financial angle. I also wonder if it’s the opening of a perjury trap for Trump.

As for the moral angle in general, unless Trump and his wife had, at the time, an open marriage, then he’s a heel, of course. But it’s also a dozen years ago, and hardly surprising.

  3. Arizona CJ, question, if Cruz was President do you think the Congressional Republicans would have come up with the same budget?

  4. Sean, I’d be lying if I said I was sure, but my best guess is that if Cruz was president, he’d have opposed the omnibus during draft phase (Plus he has real credentials as a fiscal conservative) and thus it’d be less likely to be as bad as it was.

Bias alert: Cruz was my preference in the primaries.

  5. Last year at this time, the conventional media wisdom was that “a Ted Cruz presidency would probably be an awful lot like the Trump presidency so far” because Trump seemed like a conservative. I don’t think that’s true this year.
