Chuck Schumer’s Words Come Back to Haunt Him
These are possibly the most fun videos since the Lindsey Graham “how dare the press call Trump a kook” “I think he’s a kook” videos. It’s Chuck Schumer in 2013, repeatedly talking about how idiotic and absurd it would be to do precisely what he is now doing in 2018. The hypocrisy is staggeringly funny.

I’ve even seen some media outlets questioning the Democrat line that this is the GOP’s fault. Honestly, it’s almost unthinkable to me that the GOP could win a government shutdown messaging battle . . . yet it may be happening, because of how utterly hypocritical and clumsy Schumer & Co. are.

Your own side can believe the hill the party leadership has picked to fight on is a good hill, a valorous hill, a necessary hill, if there are looming consequences that are genuinely imminent.
Ted Cruz’ supporters in his Obamacare funding filibuster — I’m one — could credit him with acting in good faith precisely because the consequence he was trying to block (the funding) was indeed imminent.
A DACA deadline that’s still in March doesn’t meet that test. And the degree of GOP opposition to a DACA fix (especially if it is offset with GOP priorities like ending chain migration, real Wall funding, etc.) doesn’t remotely resemble the kind of cosmic clash of competing world-views that existed over Obamacare.
If ICE were rounding up Dreamers and cuffing them on the 6pm news, that’d be another story. But that’s not this, and that’s what they needed it to be in order to be sure of winning the PR fight again.

The Las Vegas PD has published its preliminary report on last October’s mass shooting.
They have not been able to identify a motive, or connect the shooter to any ideology. There is no evidence that he was “radicalized” or affiliated to any group.
He left no manifesto or suicide note. The only written item found in his hotel room was a calculation of bullet trajectories.
There is no evidence that he had accomplices.
He owed no one money, and paid all his gambling debts off prior to the attack.
Apart from a minor muscle injury suffered three years earlier, he was physically healthy, but his primary-care physician suspected he was bipolar.
Between 1982 and September 2016, he (lawfully) purchased 29 firearms. From October 2016 through September 2017, he (lawfully) purchased over 55 firearms and over 100 firearm related accessories including scopes, cases and bump stocks.
There was evidence that he did internet searches for outdoor concert crowd sizes almost six months before the attack. A week before the attack, he stayed at a condominium complex overlooking another outdoor music festival in Las Vegas, and brought dozens of suitcases into his unit, just as he did at Mandalay Bay. Prior to that, he had reservations for hotel overlooking a festival in Chicago during August, but cancelled them two days before check-in.
He had no criminal record, and his only contact with police had been for minor traffic citations. He had some child porn on one of his computers (his brother was arrested on child porn charges shortly after the attack), but otherwise the report says he committed no crime until he fired the first shot into the crowd from his hotel room.

I think there is caring on both sides off all these issues, but they are difficult issues because they all require balancing. No side can always win and be fair. For example, unlimited abortion is fair to mothers but not to the aborted babies, some of whom could have had lives worth living. SSM rights benefit gays and lesbians but it does impact religious beliefs. And for every illegal immigrant who comes to America, there is an impact on immigrants who want to come legally and find the door is basically closed.
Caring only for the side you approve of doesn’t mean you are the only person who cares.

That is really not the case. The number of illegal immigrants has no effect on the number of legal immigrants allowed. They are not counted against it. It is not as if the more illegal immigration is stopped the more legal immigration Congress will authorize.
In fact, if anything it is the opposite. Historically, the more illegal immigration, the more legal immigration because illegal immigration is the incentive to Congress to allow more legal immigration. It’s just not working out that way right now.

If I said the left was trying to de-whiten America I spoke my observations of the policies of the left. They encourage poor people from countries which are not white to immigrate to America. At least that’s what I see. Is the argument about Dreamers about Englishmen or Hispanics? Are people being shipped in from Denmark or Africa and the Middle East? If that doesn’t constitute de-whitening what does? Why is it important to racially diversify America which is already a very diverse nation compared to just about any others when it isn’t important to diversify Kenya or Japan or Indonesia? Why America, Europe, Canada, Australia? The only answer is to dilute the white race and Western Culture. Unless you know of another. Since 2005 we have resettled into the US 3,000,000 chain migrants.
