Racists Everywhere

Today’s NAACP talking points: Tea Party tolerates racists.

Today’s White House talking points: Al Qaeda is racist.

Coincidence? Probably. Or maybe it’s synergy.

  1. In 1960, both NASA and the NAACP were accomplishing the impossible. Look at them now.

  2. Actually the NAACP is better at tolerating racists than the Tea Party. Surprised they aren’t patting themselves on the back.

Both organizations are stuck in the pre-civil rights era.

  6. Wanting to do ANYTHING other than expand the eligibility level, amount of payments & length of time that payments are doled out . . . is racist.

  7. DRJ – My style manual calls for the word RAAAAAACIST to be spelled with at least six “A”s when mocking liberals. You may have a typo in your post title.

  9. Oh, they’re still going with that “they said the n-word” meme. And Breitbart is still waiting to hand the NAACP (which was founded by two black Republican women and despised by Democrats) a 100,000 USD check if anyone can provide recorded proof. Surely the black congressmen who had their portable recording devices clearly visible and clearly recording have the proof… Guess not.

  10. Jeeze, just read the CNN article to which DRJ linked. I quote, “The resolution pits the nation’s oldest civil rights organization, with a storied history of wins on behalf of racial justice. . . .” Uh, yeah. They could just as easily have written, “. . . civil rights organization, with a recent history of massive debt, financial mismanagement, and widespread anti-semitism. . . .”

  11. I think it’s time to bring up the “Why hasn’t the Democrat Party apologized for its long alliance with the KKK?” According to (black liberal) historian Eric Foner, the KKK started as the Democrat’s military wing during Reconstruction.

In effect, the Klan was a military force serving the interests of the Democratic party, the planter class, and all those who desired restoration of white supremacy. Its purposes were political, but political in the broadest sense, for it sought to affect power relations, both public and private, throughout Southern society. It aimed to reverse the interlocking changes sweeping over the South during Reconstruction: to destroy the Republican party’s infrastructure, undermine the Reconstruction state, reestablish control of the black labor force, and restore racial subordination in every aspect of Southern life

    Kevin Murphy (5ae73e)

  12. [The Klan] aimed to reverse the interlocking changes sweeping over the South during Reconstruction: to destroy the Republican party’s infrastructure, undermine the Reconstruction state, reestablish control of the black labor force, and restore racial subordination in every aspect of Southern life.

Replace the word “Klan” with “Democrats” and it would appear that they were successful beyond their wildest dreams. I mean, they certainly have established control of both the black/brown and the white labor forces. They have brought about a policy of subordination, except instead of it being white over black it ends up being the academic/labor/legal/political elite over anyone foolish enough to try to get by in the private sector. And finally, instead of it pertaining to every aspect of Southern life, they have managed to spread their ideological virus to every aspect of American life. Pretty impressive in a Machiavellian way.

  13. Well put! Why hasn’t Jesse Jackson come out against the continuing enslavement of African-Americans by the Democratic Party?

    Icy Texan (4a2bd8)

  14. Because Jesse Jackson is too worried about Hymietown and all those other Jooooos ruling the world!

    John Hitchcock (9e8ad9)

  15. I’ve an idea that most folks that use the term Cracker, have zero idea of it’s origins! I’d almost bet nobody you can call at the NAACP could come up with the correct answer.. Without instant internet and google.

Those traitorous wipes that dressed up and injuns and threw boxes of REAL tea into Boston harbor were racists too, right!

Two terms is way too much use today, are Nazi and Racist. It’s actually too bad as the word Racist itself is very close to becoming a consenent, with no more meaning that the word ” The or And”.

    RTF (6e4708)

  16. I have been saying for months that if we are going to constantly say that all opposition to Obama is racist, if we are going to play the race card, could we at least do it for a good cause. Like tell bin Laden, “I bet if Obama was white you would turn yourself in.” Or tell the President of Iran, Amadanutjob (sp?), “So you think because the president is black you can build nukes and repeat the holocaust, huh?”

So I am positively glad to see the Whitehouse play the race card against AQ. Its probably bull, and it probably won’t work, but go for it.

On the other hand, the NAACP has diminished itself. I mean hell, the charge of racial epithets is based on an incident where it has been shown that the claim is almost certainly not true. they lied about deliberate spitting, and that means they have no credibility on any other part of the argument.

Now there are, in my mind, three explanations for this constant playing of the race card. The first is simply hucksterism. The second is what I call the horseblinders theory, which is where a person is so narrow in their vision that they believe that Obama is such a self-evidently wonderful president that no one can be rationally opposed to him, and thus the opposition is irrational and its only a small step from there to think the opposition might be racially motivated. And the third is what I call the Jackie Robinson theory of the Obama Presidency, which I lay out at length (including embarrassing misstatements of baseball history), here: http://allergic2bull.blogspot.com/2010/04/jackie-robinson-theory-of-obama.html

(what embarrassing misstatement of baseball history? Let’s just say I actually managed to libel Ty Cobb, which considering what a POS he was, is really kind of a feat.)

As for the NAACP, it is time for you guys to decide whether you are an organization opposed to discrimination, whether or not you are working toward the day when people of all colors can interact normally. And by normally, I mean that we can be friends, lovers, AND EVEN ENEMIES, without race being an issue. You have to decide whether a person finally should be judged by the content of his character, or by the color of their skin. You have to decide if your organization is about promoting equality of opportunity, or is simply about the advancement of “colored people” as the title of your organization puts it.

Your false charges of racism are a classic example of “crying wolf.” And like the boy in the fable, you might find that when the real thing arrives no one will believe you when you sound the alarm. And that would indeed be a travesty.

The best thing you can do at this point is withdraw the resolution. But I ain’t holding my breath.

  18. off topic, but… http://www.usmagazine.com/healthylifestyle/news/exclusive-bristol-palin-levi-johnston-are-engaged-2010147

Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are engaged to be married. and apparently they have kept it from Sarah Palin until now.

Needless to say anyone reading that has all kinds of misgivings about letting Levi back in their lives that deeply, but here is hoping everything works out for the best.

But then that means that Levi apologizing before was more than likely part of the process of trying to mend fences with his future mother-in-law which, well, then destroys Andrew Sullivan’s theory that Sarah Palin put the screws on the boy.

i have to say increasingly i am getting the feeling that india has some really screwed up attitudes about color, still.

Folks, i won’t say black is beautiful, but i will say it is equally beautiful, or ugly, depending on the person. i have always said that i practiced racial equality when i was a single man; that is right, i asked out and was rejected by women of all colors. 😉

  30. So the most horrible label the WH can pin onto Al Qaeda is they’re….racist???

I’m getting the impression that this administration believes that to be the far greater evil than the fact that they are a TERRORIST organization who by default do not value anyone’s life regardless of color, race or even gender. They are a vile group of animals who would just as soon kill you or me without a second thought. Oooh but now we find out they’re racist, too??? What’s the world coming to!

And this revelation is brought to us by the same group of ninnies who cannot even bring themselves to utter the accurate descriptor, Muslim Extremists.

    Dana (1e5ad4)

  31. Dana

that was my thought too. the terrorists love death and they are pretty equal opportunity in their love of death. they kill whites, black, asians (both kinds), indians (both kinds), jews, christians and even muslims they think aren’t “hardcore” enough.

but that being said, as silly as it is, i am not going to even object to using the race card on AQ.

i mean look how viscious the left has been to the tea party. now imagine that visciousness directed at AQ and backed up by the miliatary. that’s not a bad thing.

    Aaron Worthing (A.W.) (b1db52)

  32. Aaron,

I understand your point but mine is, shouldn’t the fact that they are MURDERING TERRORISTS supersede any accusation of racism? Call me crazy, but to my mind being a murdering terrorist is far more vile and repugnant than any idiot racist. So that viciousness you mention should already be firmly directed at AQ and backed up by the military.

This smells like the result of someone who is constantly in campaign mode figuring out how to manipulate even this to his advantage as well as using it to get the masses on board with their righteous indignation and flailing fists because nothing unifies a cause like fighting racism. Fighting MURDERING TERRORISTS, meh.

well of course i wish obama would have the moral clarity of a George W. Bush, but i have pretty much given up on that hope.

its sort of like a joke rick dukamin (sp?) told about the gulf war. he said instead of dropping bombs, we should drop our serial killers. he imagines us dropping hinkley over bagdad while shouting, “Hey, Hinkly. Saddam Hussien f—ed Jodie Foster!”

Screwed up priorities, to be sure, but we use what we can, i guess.

“In short,” the official said, “al Qaeda is a racist organization that treats black Africans like cannon fodder and does not value human life.”

  39. Actually,

    They were trolling for racists.

They didn’t *need* to find any racists within the throngs of Tea Party attendees that they passed through. They already had themselves. They already had the narrative. They already had their targets. They already had history on their side. They just needed to physically be seen walking the gauntlet for the narrative to be validated. And they were right – not the MSM nor the left required any proof of their assertion.

But hey, at least we have proof Al Qaeda is racist.

  40. Projection.

  41. You know, even before 9/11, it was pretty clear Al Qaida didn’t value human life. But when thousands of people just got murdered, many of them black, I though the case was proven beyond all doubt.

What in the hell possesses Obama to condemn Al Qaida now for racism? All throughout the world, the most extreme and primitive folks are always racist. Surely this isn’t really the most pressing detail about Al Qaida for Obama, is it?

The timing, of course, suggests this is an infantile veiled slur against the Tea Party for being like Al Qaida. But these democrats just look kinda crazy.

  42. I’ve been looking for an upside from this and well this is a stretch but …

  43. Dana good point about the need for proof.

i was there that day when the spitting and slurs were supposedly flung. its one thing to know that politicians are a bunch of f—ing liars. its another thing when they are lying about YOU.

my respect for the NAACP first started to erode when they put out those bird ads against bush. i mean Bush i think had the right answer on that subject, more or less saying, we killed the bastards, what more do you want from us? Okay, i guess if they had castrated them before killing them I wouldn’t have raised an objection. But this has done killed it. Which is not to say that i always agreed with the NAACP before, but where i disagreed, i still considered them principled. now they are just reduced to being partisan hacks.

    Aaron Worthing (A.W.) (e7d72e)

  44. Always interesting to see how CLEAR and UNAMBIGUOUS liberals are in condemning racism and raising to near criminality but terrorism …. well, you need to understand!

    HeavenSent (a9126d)

  45. In Obama’s world, blowing up the Twin Towers is understandable, given all of the Muslim oppression that we’re guilty of, but blowing up something in Africa, why, that’s just racist and unacceptable.

    rochf (ae9c58)

  46. Too much……

“Additionally, U.S. intelligence has indicated that al Qaeda leadership specifically targets and recruits black Africans to become suicide bombers because they believe that poor economic and social conditions make them more susceptible to recruitment than Arabs,” the official said.”

Because the 9/11 guys all came from wealthy families and the recent American Jihadis were all middle-to-upper middle class. Incredible.

    And then ….

“Al Qaeda recruits have said that al Qaeda is racist against black members from West Africa because they are only used in lower level operations.”

If these imbeciles are proposing racial quotas and set-aside for suicide bomb operations count me as one who support it.

    HeavenSent (a9126d)

  47. It is pretty amusing that the White House would be happier with Al Qaida than otherwise if a major terrorist attack occurred with blacks in prominent roles.

    This is pure insanity.

Unless Obama knows firsthand that affirmative action can lead to inexperienced leadership, and is engaged in psychological warfare.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  48. i will point out that jim treacher had a pretty funny bit imagining Obama deploying the race card in diplomacy–a joke that was promptly ripped off by SNL.

And we know they ripped it off, because the show is so tired these days, they don’t have a single fresh idea in their heads.

    Aaron Worthing (A.W.) (e7d72e)

  49. Coincidence, naw, scripted.

  50. btw, Tim Scott in South Carolina has a nice response on this.

    http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2010/07/republican-tim-scott-releases-statement-condemns-naacp-resolution-against-tea-party/

The sad thing about all this race baiting is it forces people who normally could give a crap about a person’s race to have to notice. So yeah, Tim Scott is black and probably he felt as a black man suppoirted by the tea party he HAD to speak out, he had no choice. All because of the NAACP’s idiocy.

    Aaron Worthing (A.W.) (e7d72e)

  51. Ergo, the Tea Party tolerates Al Qaeda?

    LASue (ed9852)

  52. btw, i think its patrotism time. this is my suggestion. We take a speech by the President of Iran, and using the best dubbing technology make it sound like he says, “Can you believe this American President? He is such a stupid n—-r.” I mean make every word but the n-word in farsi or whatever he speaks, and then use the n-word in english, so he can’t miss it.

If we are lucky, Obama will invade, problem solved!

    Aaron Worthing (A.W.) (e7d72e)

  53. If they want to talk about Arab towards African racism, they should look at Dar Fur. And not just talk but [censored] do something about it.

    nk (db4a41)

  54. btw, big government (http://biggovernment.com/) has alot of posts on this. as reynolds says, just keep scrolling.

sad thing is that about 80% of the posts condemnign the NAACP is by black people. i say that is sad, because again the NAACP’s idiotic behavior is forcing us to pay attention to race.

In the end the argument that the NAACP’s conduct is contemptable, has nothing to do the skin color of the person making the argument. but we all know a white person denouncing them just isn’t taken as seriously.

For instance, take a guy who can tell you that he has faced discrimination in high school that was so severe that he eventually dropped out. The story has a happy ending in that after laws were passed outlawing the discrimination he faced, he was able to get a GED, go on to a mid-level university and be admitted into one of the top 3 law schools and is today working as a corporate counsel for a health care company.

Oh, except the guy who went through all that… Well he is white. the discrimination he faced was due to disabilities.

And in case you haven’t guessed it, that person is me.

So, do i get enough cred to say that the NAACP is being a bunch of idiots? i have faced more discrimination than Barack Obama, for instance. And yes, if you have to ask, i hate discrimination down to my bones.

Why do i get the feeling that the answer is “no?” At least in the mind of the NAACP.

    Aaron Worthing (A.W.) (e7d72e)

  55. One more thing.

Al Qaeda is not a Muslim movement — it is a Saudi Arab movement. Let them talk about that, too.

    nk (db4a41)

  56. nk

i would have totally supported us bitch slapping the bad guys in darfur.

mind you, i think iran is a more serious issue, but both are really bad.

    Aaron Worthing (A.W.) (e7d72e)

  57. Well it was founded by a Palestinian Azzam, which Osama succeeded, and has Egyptians (al Masris) in the top levels of the organization. Yeah, the Janjaweed deserve a visit or two

    ian cormac (324a7a)

  58. It’s heartening to see the Black Tea Party candidates push back at the NAACP…of course they’re obviously tokens, but still…

African-American tea party candidates erupted Wednesday over an NAACP resolution labeling the grass-roots conservative movement as “racist.”

I have not experienced the charges of racism that the NAACP is touting,” Vernon Parker, an African-American tea party congressional candidate in Arizona, told Politico.

Parker, former mayor of Paradise Valley, told Politico that he has never felt out of place at a tea party rally because of the color of his skin.
“When I go to tea party events, people don’t look at me any differently,” he said. “They didn’t judge me on the color of my skin, quite frankly, they judged me on my principles.”

“The NAACP should be concerned about bringing jobs to people in depressed areas,” he added, “not the tea party.”

Another African-American tea party candidate, Tim Scott, a GOP congressional nominee in South Carolina, echoed Parker’s sentiments in a statement to Politico.

I believe that the NAACP is making a grave mistake in stereotyping a diverse group of Americans who care deeply about their country and who contribute their time, energy and resources to make a difference,” Scott said.

“As I campaign in South Carolina, I participate in numerous events sponsored by the tea party, 9/12, Patriot, and other like-minded groups, and I have had the opportunity to get to know many of the men and women who make up these energetic grass-roots organizations,” Scott added.

Americans need to know that the tea party is a color-blind movement that has principled differences with many of the leaders in Washington, both Democrats and Republicans.”

The resolution the NAACP approved at its annual conference in Kansas City alleges that tea party groups have used racist epithets in attacks on President Barack Obama and have verbally and physically abused African-American members of Congress, according to Politico.

    Dana (1e5ad4)

  59. After they not only refused to acknowledge Kenneth Gladney’s beating but then recently called him a “house n – word,” how can anyone take them seriously anymore?

    Dmac (52f1e4)

  60. I was momentarily hopeful with Newsweek’s take (I know, I know) but then they came through in the way that only Newsweek can:

But Tea Party leaders do, indeed, seem much more interested in attacking perceived enemies on the left than in taking on bigoted fringe groups aligned with them—not because Tea Partiers are racist, but because they are not particularly inclined to alienate allies. And when you have a movement fueled largely by overheated rhetoric about taking the country back, it’s not exactly surprising that many of your supporters are people who believe civil-rights legislation was a mistake, deem the president an illegal immigrant, and pine for an idealized America that used to be.

    Dana (1e5ad4)

  64. Speaking about the Uganda bombings, the president said, “What you’ve seen in some of the statements that have been made by these terrorist organizations is that they do not regard African life as valuable in and of itself. They see it as a potential place where you can carry out ideological battles that kill innocents without regard to long-term consequences for their short-term tactical gains.”…

I agree with Dana in #29, no matter what Obama might have been trying to accomplish (e.g., getting Africans soured on AQ), it would seem that the typical person’s view would have been something like, “Another wicked terrorist attack killing innocent people, this time back in Africa again. Uganda has had strong Christian leaders, I wonder if that went into their decision to strike there.”

But he didn’t do that, instead he gave a little emotionally detached treatise revealing his approach to world affairs. Here are some thoughts on how this statement can be broken down:
    1) some – Terrorists only sometimes show their lack of respect for life
    2) statements – We may not know what terrorists believe by observing what they do, but when they give us statements we know what they are really about
    3) they do not regard African life as valuable in and of itself – In other words, they are not racist, for they treat everyone equally. (That must be the intended meaning of what he said, because no one would ever suggest that somehow killing an African is worse than killing a Spaniard, or a Brit, or an Indonesian, or an American, or a whole bunch at once in a mixture).
    4) a potential place where you can carry out ideological battles – You see, this is what the terrorists are doing, having an ideological battle (that’s all).
    5) kill innocents without regard to long-term consequences for their short-term tactical gains – Here is what is really atrocious about the whole thing, these guys are not very good at thinking through how best to wage and win ideological battles. They are short sighted and do things that give them only a short-term gain, ignoring the long terms effects on their cause.

In other words, a completely out-of-touch Freudian slip where he calls the terrorists stupid for killing some of the oppressed people of the world for the short term gain of installing fear rather than joining together for the overthrow of the oppressors, the capitalist elites, who live in places other than Africa, Truly an example of giving a person enough rope to hang themselves with, giving a peek at how Obama thinks, through the perspective of accomplishing political ends, not whether one is doing good or bad to fellow humans.

As Neo mentioned in #41 (and others elsewhere) now that we know AQ is racist we can expect Holder to pay more attention to them.

  67. According to the race lobby dogma, even us having a discussion of whether or not something is racist demonstrates our innate cultural racism. If we weren’t racist, we wouldn’t be questioning them when they say something is racist, because most of us are White so how the hell do we know what is racist or not? (Those of us who are Black must be Uncle Toms or Oreos, naturally, and if any of us are Asian, we’re just the restaurant guy who won’t take a check, so we must be racist, too). . . . .

  68. According to the President of the Orlando NAACP…BIG GOVERNMENT is our friend, and if you are for smaller government, then you are a RAAACIST!

    What a crock.

It really ticks me off! Pulling the race card for everything is disgusting and makes the word meaningless.

    Charlotte (dad663)

  69. Simple conclusion .. both the White House and the NAACP are racists.

  70. Unfortunately, I fear we are going to see a lot, lot more of this race baiting language from the usual suspects as well as continual racial memes embedded in “news” stories up to November. The Dems message makers and their enablers are desperately trying rouse and activate several constituencies who historically don’t vote in as great a number in midterms as they do in a presidential election year. I personally think it’s backfiring on them but it really is very sad and demoralizing and even potentially dangerous for them to use this tack so obviously and so irresponsibly.

  71. I think it’s good they are making fools of themselves.

Now it’s only the right that is reporting it, but soon it will be reported by the MSM. And America knows it’s a crock.

  72. > 67.According to the President of the Orlando NAACP…BIG GOVERNMENT is our friend

But Big government is our friend. Its a wonderful website. For instance, in the last 24 hours, it has been denouncing the NAACP over and over again over this silliness.

Oh, you mean big government as in the actual government, being big…. um, never mind.

  73. The much prettier Dana wrote:

I understand your point but mine is, shouldn’t the fact that they are MURDERING TERRORISTS supersede any accusation of racism?

Dearest lovely lady with the great name: by pinning racism on them, their actions become hate crimes! I’m surprised that you didn’t know this.

    The snarky Dana (3e4784)

  74. To people with a lack of perspective, atrocities have become commonplace, but common enhancements on the evil acts of evil people strangely make those acts outrageous and intolerable. Rush Limbaugh would illustrate this by citing the fact that two convicted child-murderers facing California’s death penalty lost support among traditional death penalty opponents when it was noted that (1) double-murderer Robert Alton Harris ate the still-warm burgers his victims had just gotten at a drive thru as they lay dying, and (2) Richard Allen Davis (rapist/murderer of Polly Klaas) gave a double-flip to the media with handcuffed hands as he was entering court awaiting his sentence.

Greg Gutfeld took this issue on last night by remembering that back in February, while cruising his cable provider’s synopses of the evening’s offerings, he stopped on an episode of Law and Order. The blurb about that particular rerun had the detectives suspecting that “a murderer might be racist.” Not that a racist might be a murderer, but the other way around.

yes, really. er, i mean someone really said it, not that it really is racist.
