The violence – the worst Greece has seen in years – erupted late on Saturday and spread within hours to Thessaloniki, Greece’s northern capital, its western port city of Patras and Chania on Crete. Greece has been a country with a permanent generation, fifteen to thirty-five, of spoiled brats since the mid-seventies. “Students” are always staging sit-ins and school strikes, twice or three times a year. Its labor base is Albanian immigrants which is a good thing because no young Greek thinks he has any obligation to earn his own daily bread.
