Serious Inflation In Zimbabwe (I mean SERIOUS inflation)

I thought it must have been a bad typo when I read news accounts that Zimbabwe was currently experiencing an annual inflation rate of 231-million percent.

Apparently this is not a typo….231,000,000 %.   Yowza!

The only typo was this news account that mistakenly lists it as only 213-million percent (instead of 231-million).

This site claims the inflation rate in Zimbabwe is actually much worse than that. I don’t know how authoritative it is, but it has some amazing pictures of people in that country hoarding stacks of bills large enough to re-create the scene in The Dark Knight where the Joker slides off a giant mountain of money that he eventually burns.
