Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all Patterico readers!

Here is some music for the occasion. It’s one of the most beautiful songs I know, expressing a beautiful sentiment: Jay Semko’s “Asleep in the Loving Arms of God”:

Christmas childhood: The Great Depression didn’t affect us – we were already poor. For Chrismas, we didn’t get lots of presents but Dad always gave each of us an orange-very rare then in WV & we were glad to get it. I ate the rind & all.

  10. That is the fundamental truth rob.

  11. Stay out of emergency rooms, Perry. You wouldn’t believe how many people die there.

    nk (dbc370)

  12. You know who killed that kid, Perry? The ACLU. When it told the illegals to bring their kids along as their “get out of jail free” cards.

    nk (dbc370)

  13. nk, I think you’re the only person here who pays attention to what LanyPerry posts.

    Kishnevi (836963)

  14. He reminds me of another Perry I met in Chicago in 2008. He was a septuagenarian Obama supporter and totally foam-flecked liberal. But I understand our Perry is one of Dana Pico’s old commenters from his first blog, Common Sense Political Thought.

  15. It is indeed a sad soul that tries to twist the great revelation to partisan political ends, but as was said in 2 Timothy

    Narciso (d1f714)

  16. Narciso, paralleled on the Right by people who want you to believe America was founded as an explicitly Christian nation (when in truth it was a nation in which the overwhelming majority were Christians) and those who think “freedom of religion” means freedom to choose which laws they obey and which laws they don’t.

    Kishnevi (836963)

  17. Still, I think an impartial reading of Scripture would result in the feeling that the Deity has problems with both sides of the aisle.

    Kishnevi (836963)

  18. That’s a fair point, but the reigning secular world view has room for neither devout jew or Christian, it is solicitous of another faith though.

    Narciso (d1f714)

  19. It’s just PR, but a more competent President would take care not to give out free ammo to his enemies

    happyfeet (28a91b)

  24. No that’s what new years resolutions are for.

    Narciso (d1f714)

  25. No.

  26. Just dont make it a habit.

    Narciso (d1f714)

  27. You’re in Chicago, happyfeet. The bar for being a bad person is very high.

    nk (dbc370)

  28. i feel better

my new year’s resolutions are still a work in progress

drudge has a link today about how bird box is super scary

    this is a lie

it’s a tedious slog what took me 3 days to get through

Tom Hollander took the whole affair up a notch in the brief time he had so if you get stuck watching this keep an eye on him

bullock was a nasty grotesque dead fish woman like she was in gravity but this time she was on earth not in space, so if you enjoyed her grating performance in gravity you’ll want to watch this for sure, cause she does it with a blindfold instead of a helmet in this one

did you know oscar mayer’s buried in Rosehill?

i love that we live in the same neighborhood

  32. yes he’s got a presence all his own really

    happyfeet (28a91b)

  33. Paul,

quoting a troll account as a representation of the White House for Christmas isn’t very Christian of you.

How about laying off the hate for the rest of the year? We can all try and do the same.

    NJRob (4d595c)

  34. Btw he did get their on Christmas, if you think that is something you can do on short notice?

    Narciso (d1f714)

  35. Merry Belated Christmas.

I’m guessing this earns him no competence cred anyway.

  38. #FakeNewsMedia! When will we ever learn?

    nk (dbc370)

  39. BTW, Munroe, I was giving Trump competence cred, even when I believed the NBC #FakeNews, for not having any wounded soldiers to visit at Walter Reed, like the Shrub did.

    nk (dbc370)

  40. 19. 37-39

The thing is, when I first heard of this idea that Trump is not visiting any troops, I thought that if he were doing this, it wouldn’t be announced, but I forgot.

    Sammy Finkelman (102c75)

  41. “the troops” need to come home so they can see their families at christmas like normal people

they have no business being in these strange culture places doing god knows what

    happyfeet (28a91b)

  42. quoting a troll account as a representation of the White House for Christmas isn’t very Christian of you.

Pound sand. The intent was humorous.
