Former Hillary Shills Now Resort to Mocking Her (I Mean They Can’t Be Serious, Can They?)
[guest post by JVW]
The Wall Street Journal ran one of its more curious op-eds in recent memory, written by Mark Penn, former Clinton Crime Family pollster, advisor, fixer, sycophant, etc., and Andrew Stein, a seat occupier on the corrupt and ridiculous New York City Council.
Get ready for Hillary Clinton 4.0. More than 30 years in the making, this new version of Mrs. Clinton, when she runs for president in 2020, will come full circle—back to the universal-health-care-promoting progressive firebrand of 1994. True to her name, Mrs. Clinton will fight this out until the last dog dies. She won’t let a little thing like two stunning defeats stand in the way of her claim to the White House.
I’m not always 100% current on these sorts of things, but isn’t this sort of language — “Hillary Clinton 4.0,” “this new version of Mrs. Clinton,” “little thing like two stunning defeats” — indicative of mockery and what the hip youngsters who largely rejected her primary campaign last time around in favor of some crusty old socialist would call “snark”? For what it’s worth, Hillary fanbois like Philippe Reins claim that there is no chance she will run.
So this leaves me flummoxed as to what Penn and Stein are doing here. Are they such sad-sack Hillary worshippers that they can’t bring themselves to acknowledge that her day is well behind her, and that once again trying to re-re-re-reintroduce herself to the American public will leave her looking desperate and pathetic? Or are they so disillusioned with Her Clintonic Majesty, the Past, Present, and Future Inevitable Next President of the United States that they are now openly mocking her in the opinion section of one of this country’s most conservative editorial pages? I can’t see it as funny; I can’t see it (yet) as sad. I just find it all bizarre.

It’s also a hint to the wannabes as to how to preempt any HRC initiatives for 2020. Penn is dead-on with this. The House will abjectly refuse any consideration of a serious healthcare reform/improvement. It’s the issue that ultimately delivered the suburbanites. It plays directly into the narrative of DJT as monster.

Narciso (295d85) — 11/12/2018 @ 1:04 pmWell, campaign mgrs make A LOT of money. They’ll get around $500k to manage the campaign, figuring it’s about 18 months. They also normally get a cut of the ad spend, and even a tiny percent of a billion is a nice number.
So sure, these guys want her to run, it keeps them relevant on the talk show circuit, and potentially is a windfall if they are actually managing the campaign. Why you’d want a bunch of losers to run the campaign of a 2-time losing prez candidate is beyond me, but just wait, Romney is probably going to run again in 2020 too.
Colonel Klink (68437d) — 11/12/2018 @ 1:07 pmNarciso:
Kemp is ahead in the Abrams vs Kemp situation, and I think we are almost done. Because of the determined efforts of Kemp to keep the voter rolls clear of folks inclined to vote against him, there is always going to be an asterisk beside that victory. And he richly deserves the asterisk.
You complain about rule of law here in Georgia, and fail to notice that the guy who kept changing the rules, but not fixing Georgia’s basic voting problems (paper ballots, anyone?), was the guy running for Governor, and probably winning without a runoff. Makes me think you’ve been getting too much of your news from Breitbart.

appalled @26 – As you very well know, in Georgia, each County (all one hundred and fifty-nine of them), runs their election polls independently. Kemp made no rules by hisself. He followed the will of the legislature. I know, that’s a novel concept.
But for a fool Libertarian, Kemp would have clearly won, outside the margin of stealing. He will win a runoff, as well, if need be.
Given how courts generally love putting off real choices of any importance, I’d be surprised if SCOG rules any other way but for a runoff. The apparatus for a runoff is already mandated due to the Secretary of State race. Perhaps they will appoint a Special Master. The beauty of that, though, is that Fulton and Clayton and the other Dem enclosures will be forced to run things proper.

here’s the basic recipe
i skipped straight to making mine with pureed blueberries or blackberries (or both)
it does want for vanilla but i leave that out
leave the sugar out too
this is related … i’ll be trying that this winter i think
i add splenda to a cup sometimes in the evening but not if i have it for breakfast, as we peasants often do
my sole innovation so far has been to add a bit of fresh-squeezed lemon juice – say a quarter of a lemon…. this brightens it nicely, but it’s just for when you add the fruit
just remember you can always add more water and you can’t go wrong… and pay attention that there’s some cooking time involved – don’t cheat that part cause it helps a lot

I would guess that Mark Penn does not want Hillary Clinton to run, but is afraid she will. So he;s predicting she will in the hopes of getting together some opposition. Hillary always postponed any announcements as much as possible – she was forced to announce aiut early in 2015 because of the email controversy.
Will she run? I don’t know. She may be too old and physically frail, and the Clintons may be getting behind Kirsten Gillebrand. She has, at least, the same lack of political principles. She raised a lot of money but pretty much ignored the campaign in New York (only some weekly Jewish newspapers paid attention to her opponent) and campaigned for candidates in other states and was re-elected with over 72% of the vote.
Hillary I think has hinted in the past at Kirsten Gillebrand in saying that a future president may be a woman who is not her.

Sammy Finkelman (4b90f8) — 11/13/2018 @ 6:38 pmMark Penn is probably bound by a non-disclosure agreement and this is the only way he can act against Hillary. Andrew Stein is I think an old client of his polling firm, and last ran for office in the mayoral election of 1993, when he dropped out early after wasting all his campaign funds in very early commercials. (he also made a stab in that election at running for what his old office had become.
