Trump Rally Attendee Chants “Jew-S-A!” at Press

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 7:30 pm

I am of two minds about this.

On the one hand, people like this cretin have been emboldened by Trump’s campaign. And this man obviously feels he is in a Safe Space, as he loudly chants “JEW-S-A!!!” at the press . . . and explains that he is doing so because, hey, the press is “run by the Jews.”

On the other hand, the people around him are ignoring him, and Trump is not openly inciting this sort of thing — at least, at the moment the guy is chanting it.

I’ll try to take some comfort from the latter thought.

P.S. If the embed does not work on your device, just click the link in the tweet and you can watch the video.

[Cross-posted at RedState.]

UPDATE: Evidence the guy may have been a plant or at least a phony, as many here have contended, here. Note the identical tattoos. I’ll wait until real media has sorted this out, as pro-Trumper Web sites and Twitter accounts are notorious for making up evidence. But if this evidence is not made up, it seems pretty convincing.

  1. All the dirty tricks employed during this campaign season, how can you be sure who this clown’s loyalties are with?

  2. @Col. Haiku: how can you be sure who this clown’s loyalties are with?

Hey man, it’s not like anyone paid by the Clintons recently confessed to trying to cause trouble at Trump rallies or anything.

And of course there are no Jew-haters supporting Clinton. Not one.

The important thing is that Trump has attracted the support of awful people. It is of course of no relevance whatever that the very same thing was said about Romney, and the support he drew, by the Left. Because that was all lies.

    Gabriel Hanna (c791b9)

  5. Yeah, Patterico, didn’t we just learn last week that Scott Foval and Bob Creamer were sending people to GOP rallies in order to manufacture trouble?

    Cruz Supporter (102c9a)

  6. This is worth noticing, but not much more. A candidate is not responsible for those who attend his or her rallies. Appalling as it may be, it has little to do with the election, and more to do with the overall decline of American culture. Guilt by association of a candidate’s voters is not a legitimate criticism of a candidate.

    David Shawver (806c86)

  7. Guilt by tenuous association just doesn’t do it for me.

Shut your mouth. Of course it is! Haven’t we been told for decades that Reagan was elected by Southern racists?

And it’s doubly true when that candidate is Trump. Every Republican is 100% to blame for every troll, racist, or misogynist who votes for them and that goes double for Trump.

Where have you been? This has been the media and progressive–but I repeat myself–conventional wisdom for at least 40 years. Every Republican must always and endlessly renounce and denounce every unsavory character whatever that endorses them.

“You people.” Are you one of those racists who supported Romney?

I get that you don’t like Trump. Neither do I. But you made your reputation as someone who looks past the media BS to get to the truths they want to see buried. They would very much like to distract everyone with anything on Trump. And you didn’t go along, when it was Romney.

The creeps around the Clintons will do a hell of a lot more harm; there’s a lot more of them and they’ve been in government before.

The 60 actual neo-Nazis may indeed feel emboldened enough to come out of their mom’s basements and nursing homes if Trump wins. But it’s like you never heard of Internet trolls. Not everyone who posts something online is what they claim to be, or is saying what they really believe, and sometimes they seem like more people than they really are.

Hillary has got you scared of evil clowns. The neo-nazi threat is every bit as real. And the awful behavior exhibited online is found on all points of the political spectrum. We made a big deal here not long about Nancy French’s hate mail, but who was sending that stuff to Michelle Malkin and Pam Geller for the last ten years? Not to mention the Palins.

  34. Patterico, between Hillary and Donald, who is more of a classical liberal, and who is more likely to benefit classical liberalism?

I would not be horribly disappointed if Trump gets more electoral votes than Clinton but falls short of 270 without Utah. But for that to happen, or at least to make sure Hillary stays in Chapaqua, we need to boost Trump, IMHO. Not tear him down at every opportunity.

Yes, it’s irony. If you were talking about the media and not about me, then I misunderstood you. You left a comment on this post, which is about a Trump rally attendee who is a crazy anti-Semite (or, as some point out, pretending to be), which reads:

The important thing of course is not to be distracted by email this, Weiner that, Clinton Foundation whatever.

The important thing is that Trump has attracted the support of awful people. It is of course of no relevance whatever that the very same thing was said about Romney, and the support he drew, by the Left. Because that was all lies.

Seemed like you were talking about me. That’s why I reacted as I did.

Not in public, not with people around him making it clear they disagreed. No more than he would do it down at the local supermarket. If he turned out to be real, it would lead the nightly news. He probably works for a local Dem official.

There’s a classic Tea Party photo of a guy walking around with racist/Nazi signs and others following him around with a sign pointing at him saying PHONY! Wish I could find it on the Google, but there are SO MANY Nazi/racist photoshops of Tea Party members that it’s difficult.

  48. Patterico, between Hillary and Donald, who is more of a classical liberal, and who is more likely to benefit classical liberalism?

  52. I used to go to LBNL to work (I didn’t work for them, we paid them for the beam time). And when I was off I would go down to Berkeley to kill time.

That was where I learned that protesters for progressive causes are hired to do that. Call me naive. Because they had people there recruiting, talking about how you could work for a multitude of good causes and get wages and benefits. New to me.

I have never heard of this on the Right, it may exist. Unions pay people to picket, I’ve since learned.

But the media invariably covers progressive protests as the spontaneous work of passionate people who take time out of their lives because They Care.

And they have zero critical thinking about it, or at least present no evidence of any.

And when progressive protests had people saying awkward things the media always reported that the protesters claimed those people were plants.

Anyway, renounce-and-denounce has not worked and never has. Every Republican ever is responsible personally for every jerk and troll who expresses any support, or even is in proximity, no matter how many times or how abjectly they self-criticize. The only winning move is not to play.

    Gabriel Hanna (c791b9)

  53. If Trump has done us any favor, it is in showing us that some people who seem like caricatures of idiot conservatives are real idiot conservatives.

I’ve said that this was a battle, on the standard 1 to 10 scale, of “3’s”, and leaving it to otehrs to decide if I was being charitable to one side or the other.

Now, with the Wikileaks stuff and the FBI redux, I am reducing my max grade to “2”

Well, a NYT reporter “discovered” him, I would guess after searching the whole arena during the rally for something juicy/nasty to report, per his training at the Sabrina Erdely School of Journalism. So he succeeded in finding one Deplorable. Meh. Trump’s audience applauds gay people, for crying out loud, so they seem largely un-deplorable.

If you were ok with his winning, you would see right through this, as what it is, an attempt to take the heat off of the Criminal. You know as well as we do it does not take much for them to focus on anything but the corruption that Hillary is. You are not helping in that regard by taking their side in this.
We have two choices, the murderer up to the day of birth, the pay for play MEGA, the evil Eva Perone. OR, the guy that has solid Supreme Court Pics, the one who wants to bring jobs back, the one that wants representatives to represent their constituents who vote for them again. Now, you believe he is fooling everyone, and that might be, but what if he isn’t? He is our only chance right now.
What was Ross, Perot’s famous quote? Was he correct? Yes he was a little crazy, but he was absolutely correct when he said NAFTA would make a big sucking sound of factories and jobs, and that happened, DT is wanting to right the wrong that made that happen.
I know I won’t convince you to change your mind, but I pray that I do. Btw, I wanted Ted Cruz to win, he didn’t, so, pragmatism is what I am going on. And Reagan’s thirteenth commandment. Another thing that drives me crazy with what you guys are doing. Just remember, we have memories, and IF Donald does lose, who are we going to blame first? The democrats cheating? No, we know they do that, we are going to blame those who could have supported DT, even holding their nose, (like we have with all the establishment weaklings), and either go third party next time, or not vote like you guys, especially if you run that anti vet, social security recipient, active duty Paul Ryan.

  70. Wow. Talk about false equivalency. First off I have done the due diligence and weighed each candidate heavily. Though I have never been a Clinton family fan and the legacy of Bill Clinton left me less than pleased in 2009 I can not understand how anyone with the ability to read through a platform and policy plan can possibly still argue this. I have also sat here and one by one read your comments. If I am to believe that she is a criminal that deserves jail, public execution or works with new nazis then I should also believe the entire senate is as well. The very law that put into place the security detail and policies were not changed after Benghazi and many other failed attempts to have them changed after lives lost under Reagan and Bush the senate continued to override or kill the bills due to budget or non desire for change. The email server is an an institutional problem that quite frankly should have been changed and made illegal when it was discovered that police departments had been wiping theirs clean before investigations into wrong doing, as that affects our right to due process as American citizens, but somehow we are sidetracked to believe that that one individuals server is an anomaly. It is not, this is somehow the norm. This is how Chris Christie, Mitt Romney, George Bush and many others before handled or rather mishandled information. It in no way distracts or equates you to a man who once said about a child that one day she would be his wife. Or a man who needs to someone to explain to him that indeed the Ukraine is being invaded. Or a man who has in fact told his rally goers to punch someone out. You don’t have to vote for anyone in particular but you should do your research before voting.
