FBI Document Shocker: Hillary “Contemptuous” Towards Her Security Detail

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 8:30 am

I say “shocker” ironically, of course, because this is anything but shocking. Andrew Stiles at Heat Street dug up a nugget from yesterday’s FBI document dump, and it is not very flattering to Hillary Clinton:

Hillary Clinton was so abusive toward her diplomatic security staff that many quit or sought reassignment during her tenure as secretary of state, a former agent told FBI investigators, according to documents released Monday.

Clinton’s treatment of the diplomatic security agents assigned to protect her “was so contemptuous that many of them sought reassignment or employment elsewhere,” according to an FBI summary of its interview with the unnamed former security official.

The former agent described how protecting the secretary of state had long been viewed as “an honor and privilege reserved for senior agents,” according to the FBI summary, but that changed during Clinton tenure.

The agent told FBI investigators that by the end of Clinton’s time at the state department, the secretary’s security detail was “staffed largely with new agents because it was difficult to find senior agents willing to work for her.”

Here is a screenshot of the document:

The document is page 45 of the document dump, if you’d like to see it in context.

Hillary Clinton: arrogant and contemptuous? That comes as a surprise to . . . precisely nobody.

  2. Omigosh! Patterico has done a 180 and gone totally pro-Trump! Look for this “Vote for Trump” banner at the top of the site any minute now.

  3. She’s a real piece of work, isn’t she? Do we think it’s even remotely possible that the GOP candidate and his campaign might take a moment off from self-immolation to actually raise this as a legitimate character issue (and no, midnight Tweets do not count)?

  4. I’m sure he’ll mention it on the rally, but the entire party has to get involved, and they’ve been reasonably good imitations of basenghis,

… the entire party has to get involved …

If Trump is so weak that he can’t get anything done without complete and total support, 24/7, from every single Republican and conservative … how can he accomplish anything as President?

Particularly the part about a group that reviewed the Benghazi related emails before they were turned over to the House Oversight Committee–that wasn’t the normal group. These “reviewers” used POC (points of contact) at the DOJ–instead of the FBI,and POCs at the WHC instead of the NSC, which the normal reviewers used. It’s being described as a “rookie mistake” but looks like an attempt at something else.

  24. Thus practice [of turning over security to the secret service at times] was unknown to the DS orior to CLINTON’s tenure

Well, of course. No previous Secretary of state was entitled to Secret Service protection.

But let’s figure out what’s going on here.

My guess would be that she didn’t want the security people seeing things that she didn’t want non-loyal [to the Clintons, that is] people to see. She couldn’t prevent them from knowing she was carrying a cell phone, albeit a Blackberry, into secure zone, but there other things she could prevent them maybe from finding out, like who her guests were, and who she talked to.

The Secret Service agents at Chappaqau were probably tamed, and were there because they wanted to be and Bill Clinton made things easy for them if they looked the other way if anything unusual happened.

In the paper it was reported like the big thing is she din’t want to be stopped from visiting places that American reporters felt perfectly safe in going to.
