Totally Missing The Irony: Feminist Lectures Men For Failing To Come To The Rescue

Self-described “Godzilla of tech feminists” and co-founder of Giant Spacekat, game designer Briana Wu beautifully illustrates why feminists are not, and should not be taken seriously:
On one hand, Wu and her ilk demand everyone acknowledge men and women are equal in every way, but at the same time, lectures that men are obligated to come to her rescue. And why? Because they’re better at it. She patronizingly accuses men of failing their obligation, while acknowledging they have a strength that women don’t. No wonder men are confused. If women don’t even know the rules of the game, how on earth are men supposed to know?
I am woman hear me roar… no, don’t hear me roar, save my ass instead (but don’t look at it while you’re saving me!)… but while you’re saving me, understand that I am seriously roaring in my heart…

Even if it did happen, why should anyone (man or woman) that’s not a law enforcement official be expected to deal with a screaming guy? When I was young and single, I met a gorgeous woman in a bar who invited me back to her apartment. She drove. When we got there, there was no parking in front of her building but there was an empty spot across the street. She made a perfect u-turn and backed into the parking spot perfectly. I might have stood nearby and watched things unfold and possibly dialed 911 but, since I probably wouldn’t know all the details, it would be difficult to intervene without opening up a can of legal worms.
Were I certain someone faced imminent serious bodily injury, I would probably feel compelled to intervene but I have never found myself in that situation (except when I was assaulted) and I don’t know that Ms. Wu faced that threat. She was afraid but that is not the same thing. Sometimes it is best to leave and let lunatics rant.
But, I wouldn’t want to be part of the hetero-normative patriarchy oppressing Ms. Wu so I would need to be judicious in deciding to intervene in such an instance.
We ought to print stickers for people to wear. It might read something like, “I am a feminist in my ‘safe space’ but when the real sh*t starts to go down I want a big strong male to rescue me.” Or, “I am an anti-second amendment idiot until terrorists start shooting up the place and then I want a responsibly armed citizen to protect me.”
Conversely, I’d like these lunatics to self-identify their positions which might save me a lot of trouble if they wore a sticker like, “I oppose the 2nd amendment so please DON’T use your legal firearm to protect me from any crazy terrorists with illegal firearms!”
Maybe someone could print t-shirts because the stickers would be hard to read. Or maybe we could do color-coded stickers?
