Hillary Clinton Flip-Flops On Planned Parenthood Videos

Filed under: General — Dana @ 7:09 am

[guest post by Dana]

Just one week ago, Hillary Clinton went on record and condemned the “attack against women’s rights to choose” after the release of the second Planned Parenthood video:

“I don’t have all the facts but Planned Parenthood has apologized for the insensitivity of the employee who was taped and they will continue to answer questions for Congress and others, but for more than a century Planned Parenthood has provided essential services for women,” Clinton declared Thursday. “Not just reproductive health services, including access to affordable family planning, but cancer screenings, for example and other health checkup.”

The Democratic presidential candidate also called it “unfortunate” that the taxpayer-funded organization has endured such “concerted attacks” for its abortion practices.

“I think it is unfortunate that Planned Parenthood had been the object of such a concerted attacks for so many years and it’s really an attack against women’s rights to choose, to make the most personal, difficult decisions that any women would face based on her faith and her medical advice that she is given,” Clinton explained. “So I am hoping that this situation will not further undermine the very important services that Planned Parenthood provides.”

Now, for some mysterious reason, Clinton called the videos “disturbing” during an interview with the New Hampshire Union Leader:

“I have seen pictures from them and I obviously find them disturbing,” the Democratic presidential hopeful said during a sit-down interview Tuesday with the New Hampshire Union Leader.

“Planned Parenthood is answering questions and will continue to answer questions. I think there are two points to make,” Clinton said. “One, Planned Parenthood for more than a century has done a lot of really good work for women: cancer screenings, family planning, all kinds of health services. And this raises not questions about Planned Parenthood so much as it raises questions about the whole process, that is, not just involving Planned Parenthood, but many institutions in our country.”

“And if there’s going to be any kind of congressional inquiry, it should look at everything and not just one part of it,” she said.

Clinton did not watch the released videos and yet up until yesterday’s interview, she staunchly supported Planned Parenthood and condemned the “attacks” on the organization. Now she is disturbed by the pictures she has seen and barely offers Planned Parenthood any cover. How to explain the shift? It’s not as if Planned Parenthood has all of a sudden started doing anything different from their ordinary routine of barbarity. Their mission statement has not changed. Their philosophy of empowering women with uh, quality healthcare has not changed. Something has to explain Clinton’s change of mind. Well, given that Clinton wants the presidency more than anything and is willing to do anything to secure it, I think she has become aware of some internal polling data that suggests her primary supporters have seen the videos and as a result, their view of Planned Parenthood has changed to some degree. That, of course, means that Clinton’s view of Planned Parenthood must change. Looking around, I see I am not alone in this assessment:

Hillary Clinton does only what the polling tells her to do. And since her target demographic is women, that must mean that somewhere, some messaging data has turned up a shift even among Hillary’s hardcore liberals.

  1. Hello.

    Dana (86e864)

  2. Hillary does not now and never has had any moral guideposts. In fact, if I had the requisite
credentials, I would diagnose her as a sociopath.

  3. PP claims that only 3% of their services are for abortion.
the other 97% is for other womens health services.

Does handing the women a list of doctors and clinics in the local area that actually provide services such as pap smears, mammograms count as a service provided by PP?

    Just asking.

    Joe (debac0)

  4. these videos are not necessarily everyone’s cup of tea did you know we have a new ghirardelli store

it’s in the wriggles and it’s got an upstairs where you can sit and eat extravagant ice cream concoctions and look out on michigan

the takeaway for me so far is i like their coffee better than peet’s, plus you get the fun view

it’s way better for treats than Dylan’s Cafe I think – very classical and american – whereas Dylan’s is just sort of oleaginously over-the-top for my tastes and just sorta tacky in its presentation and ambiance

but as far as planned parenthood goes I’m very disappointed that the Rs have no plan to cut the spendings – they just wanna move them from PP to more politically-favored recipients

so if you ask me this whole issue is kind of a dead end

    hah get it

  5. Cancer screenings my ass. They have said time and time again they refer women to places for breast cancer screenings, they do not do them there.

  6. I would ask those with legal expertise (like the blogmaster, if possible) to comment on the legal validity of the Los Angeles Superior Court injunction against the release of the next video showing employees of StemExpress discussing aborted fetal parts. Two points:

    1. Doesn’t the effort to quash the videos add weight to whatever damaging acts/discussions are recorded? If there is nothing in them demonstrating criminal or unethical intent, what possible reason can the people being recorded have for wanting the videos prohibited, other than hiding the very nature of what they are doing?

    2. I have seen a couple of news sites make the statement that the injunction only holds sway in California, but I do not see that defined in any wording from the injunction. Can the CMB videos be released in locations outside of California, without giving the obviously pro-abortion court hacks the opportunity to further the legal harassment of the videographers.

Finally, can happyfeet’s caretaker make an appointment with his primary care provider as soon as possible? His antipsychotic and schizophrenia medications appear to need adjustment…serious adjustment.

  7. At the second presidential debate, President Barack Obama said that women “rely on” Planned Parenthood for mammograms. Actually, mammograms are not performed at the clinics; Planned Parenthood doctors and nurses conduct breast exams and refer patients to other facilities for mammograms. Individual clinics sometimes provide more than referrals, arranging for mobile mammography vans.

    […]

Planned Parenthood performs gynecological exams, including breast exams, and refers women to other facilities to have mammograms performed, much like women are referred to radiological centers by their gynecologists or primary care physicians.

According to Planned Parenthood, its medical staff performed 747,607 “breast exams/breast care” in 2010, the most recent statistics available. As for cervical cancer screenings, as the president mentioned, it performed 769,769 Pap tests.

that is what it says on the internet here

  8. What I heard Hillary say was:

    1. I will never stop supporting abortion and PP specifically (I am bitterly clinging to my base)
    2. I will wrap PP abortion horrors with the halo affect of its women’s health services role
    3. I will deflect questions specifically about the immoral, unethical and possibly criminal acts of PP by suggesting it raises questions about the whole process, that is, not just involving Planned Parenthood, but many institutions in our country. This will raise false questions about other institutions and thus trigger defenders of those other institutions to join the fray and provide cover for PP.
    4. I am an expert on slow walking any scandal (especially with the assistance of the MSM) and I will slow walk my public comments regarding this issue until December 2016

  10. The left just loves — loves — to think of itself as so humane and compassionate. Their mother hen, Hillary, is a perfect embodiment of that, including her innate desire to do back flips and the watusi in order to rationalize away what the videos on Planned Parenthood are all about.

The following is actually old news in that grapevine talk about what a cruddy, lousy human being she is behind the scenes has been known for years.

philadelphia.cbslocal.com via drudgereport.com: [Author Ronald] Kessler also contends the Clinton’s relationship is only based on their desire to return to the White House in 2016. “Agents say that it’s a business relationship. It’s not a marriage at all. It’s a total fake, like everything else about Hillary. It’s just a big show and a scam.”

And the agents assigned to Hillary’s detail, says Kessler, don’t usually look forward to the assignment.

“Hillary Clinton pretends to be this champion of the little people — she’s gonna help the middle class, she’s compassionate. But the reality behind the scenes is she treats her agents and others less powerful than she is with contempt. In fact she’s so abusive to her agents that being assigned to her detail is considered a form of punishment,” he said. “That tells you something about her character.”

While some may argue that Kessler’s accounts are nothing but gossip, he stands by his claims. He said that many of the agents in the book allowed for their names to be printed along with their stories.

  11. The fourth video is now out, and like the third one, it is not for the squeamish. Perhaps the most horrible thing you see/hear is at the end, when they are digging through another pan of fetal remains, looking for the legs, and when they find them, the PP ghoul exclaims, “And another boy!”

    Virginia SoCon (8eb3c5)

  12. I don’t understand why PP is needed to perform “breast exams/breast care” or even what that means, other than looking for lumps, which I thought anyone can do. Nor do I understand why they are needed for referrals.

    Gerald A (e1ec12)

  13. The biggest defense I’ve seen raised for the body parts selling I’ve seen is that it is reimbursement for expenses related to donations. The claim is made by defenders that it is Expensive to ship tissue. But if I’m not mistaken, Planned Parenthood doesn’t ship any of the tissue, they just store it for pick up.

Can anyone confirm that practice? I think I saw it in the 1st video transcript but haven’t been able to confirm it.

    Dejectedhead (6528ff)

  14. I am in favor of abortion being legal. I am also in favor of the decision being made at a State level. And I doubt that my opinion id going to matter, because for a number of years, I have been watching the “Pro-Choice” side of the debate do their absolute level best to piss away their position.

It is never a good idea to try to use the government to silence people who oppose you, unless you really think those people can be intimidated. After the first few attempts, it should have been clear that the ati-abortion side wasn’t intimidated. The attempts to censor their message should have been dropped.

If abortion is going to be legal, and pro-choice groups mean what they say about women’s reproductive rights, then abortion clinics need to be safe places. And it behooves the pro-choice side to make sure that that is the case. Along comes Kermit Gossnel, and suddenly it become crystal clear that the pro-choice side, at least in PA, doesn’t give a fat damn about the health and safety of the women seeking abortions. Oops.

Planned Parenthood spend decades living down the stench that its early connection to eugenics enthusiasts left behind. you’d think that would teach them something. Apparently not. IF the parts selling operation is legal, they still need to consider whether taking part in it was at all smart. If it wasn’t legal, then they need to clean house, big time. So far they are squawking like an outraged hen. I’m seriously under-impressed.

I’m still waiting for some committed Pro-Choice idiots to get caught smuggling an underage girl across state borders to evade a parental notification law. Extra points for ostentatious stupidity if the girl suffers complications or dies.

We are going to see abortion outlawed in my lifetime. I don’t think that’s good, but it doesn’t change things. The Pro-Choice side is comitting slow political suicide through stupidity.

  15. 1915 there was no screening test for cancer. Cervical cancer – the only type Planned Parenthoods might conceivably screen for hadn’t been differentiated as a disease yet.

Just pulled that factoid out of my ass. Don’t feel the need to check it.

Now she is disturbed by the pictures she has seen and barely offers Planned Parenthood any cover. How to explain the shift?

The strategy to take down Planned Parenthood via slow release of videos – each time getting people to defend the group, then releasing a video that undermines that defence – is brilliant. Hillary backed PP when everyone thought there was only that one video – one video that can be explained away. But she’s now (wisely) fleeing the sinking ship.

Bernie Sanders is doubling down on this, and she might be trying to make herself the more “moderate” candidate – or rather, distinguish herself from him on this issue so that it can sink his campaign.

  18. Oh look. I got it right. History of Cervical Cancer.

A description of human papillomavirus (HPV) by electron microscopy was given in 1949, and HPV-DNA was identified in 1963.[citation needed] It was not until the 1980s that HPV was identified in cervical cancer tissue.[96] It has since been demonstrated that HPV is implicated in virtually all cervical cancers.[97] Specific viral subtypes implicated are HPV 16, 18, 31, 45 and others.

    Luck.

  19. re #15: i think it was on this forum that a few weeks ago i had a back-and-forth with someone about what “factoid” meant. According to the definition I knew – and the original meaning – you don’t have to look it up to see if that was a factoid. 🙂

This somewhat relates to the other thread about UNH and the voluntary vocabulary guide. Words do mean something and the change of the usage of a word should not be done willy-nilly as it was done with “factoid”.

    And that’s a fact 😀

1 – Everybody has to have health insurance now; and
2 – All health insurance plans must cover contraception; then

The second because Hillary is famously full of shinola as well.

    papertiger (c2d6da)

  24. Mr Schofield: The real answer is that that money must go to subsidize things that health insurance doesn’t cover. Since health insurance must now cover all contraception, and other women’s health issues other than abortion, the only “health issue” for which Planned Parenthood cannot recover their expenses — and a profit as well — is abortion.

Oh, they’ll use creative accounting to say that none of the money goes for abortion, but money is fungible: it offsets other things so that they can continue to provide infanticide services.

credentials, I would diagnose her as a sociopath.

    Bar Sinister (b48c12) — 7/30/2015 @ 7:15 am

The requisite credentials would be important because based on the description sometimes she strikes me as more of a psychopath.

    http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/the-difference-between-a-psychopath-and-a-sociopath-10422016.html

Although the fact that she lies so carelessly, and her lies are so easily refuted, does seem to fit the description of a sociopath:

…Psychopaths and sociopaths share a number of characteristics, including a lack of remorse or empathy for others, a lack of guilt or ability to take responsibility for their actions, a disregard for laws or social conventions, and an inclination to violence. A core feature of both is a deceitful and manipulative nature. But how can we tell them apart?

Sociopaths are normally less emotionally stable and highly impulsive – their behaviour tends to be more erratic than psychopaths. When committing crimes – either violent or non-violent – sociopaths will act more on compulsion. And they will lack patience, giving in much more easily to impulsiveness and lacking detailed planning

Although it’s important to know that some people with the requisite credentials don’t think psychiatry should distinguish between the two at all:

…Both act on a continuum of behaviours, and many psychologists still debate whether the two should be differentiated at all…

Speaking of her flip-flops and her habit of casual, careless lying without any detailed planning, it looks like Hillary! is going to flip-flop and come up with a new careless lie about her mishandling of classified material.

The letter the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community sent to Congress is posted at the WSJ site.

    http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/documents/23July2015_CN_SummaryofICIGsupport.PDF

Her chain of serial lies is a joke. We’ve gone from knowing that “there is no classified” just isn’t true to knowing that “it wasn’t classified at the time” isn’t true.

This IG has made a “definitive determination” that the emails contained Intel Community-derived information that was classified when it was sent and received, but Hillary! and her minions simply excerpted that information and sent it over an unclassified system without classification markings and dissemination controls.

Which is classic, deliberate mishandling of classified material.

You can’t claim you inadvertently did that.

  31. I didn’t see any links. The fourth video is posted at PowerLine:

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2015/07/planned-parenthood-video-4-is-a-shocker.php

There is one exchange that I can’t believe means what it seems to mean:

Sometimes if we get, if someone delivers before we are able to see them for a procedure, then we are intact. But that’s not what we go for, we try for that not to happen.

Here is the video. Judge for yourself:

The actors playing the parts of the buyers asked about getting intact fetuses. The PP ghoul said that they only get about 10% of their fetuses out intact, and my impression is that is mostly when the mother delivers before they can do an abortion.

My impression is also that they’ll turn that now-born alive baby into a “specimen” a la Dr. Gosnell.

There’s quite a bit of discussion about how PP doesn’t want to get caught doing what it’s doing, and they have lawyers essentially hiding the truth under various layers of legalese.

    Steve57 (0ccd36)

  33. Notice that Hillary Clinton said:

    I obviously find them disturbing

Of course it is not obvious at all, but she doesn’t want any questions asked.

Then she went on to defend Planmned Parenthood, saying they did very great things and any investigation should look at the whole process – at other institutions too – and not just target PPlanned Parenthood.

I think that ballot initiative for embryonic stem cell research that passed in California in 2004 has a lot to do with this.

There’s a lot of money available, gobs and gobs of money, and it’s mostly only available for human embryonic stem cell research. It could be used for other stem cell research but there is legal priority for embryonic stem cell reserach and where do you think they get these embryonic stem cells.

  34. Hillary! is not having a good week, and things are going to get worse.

    WASHINGTON

The classified emails stored on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private server contained information from five U.S. intelligence agencies and included material related to the fatal 2012 Benghazi attacks, McClatchy has learned.

Of the five classified emails, the one known to be connected to Benghazi was among 296 emails made public in May by the State Department. Intelligence community officials have determined it was improperly released.

Revelations about the emails have put Clinton in the crosshairs of a broadening inquiry into whether she or her aides mishandled classified information when she used a private server set up at her New York home to conduct official State Department business.

While campaigning for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, Clinton has repeatedly denied she ever sent or received classified information. Two inspectors general have indicated that five emails they have reviewed were not marked classified at the time they were stored on her private server but that the contents were in fact “secret.”

    Read more here: http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/article29519419.html#storylink=cpy

There is no question as to “whether or not” Hillary! mishandled classified information when she conducted State Dept. business on her private, unclassified, unencrypted, and then hacked private server. She did.

Her supporters are still trying to square the circle and pushing the line that while she mishandled classified information she didn’t commit any crimes by doing so.

“Even if Secretary Clinton or her aides didn’t run afoul of any criminal provisions, the fact that classified information was identified within the emails is exactly why use of private emails . . . is not supposed to be allowed,” said Bradley Moss, a Washington attorney who specializes in national security matters. “Both she and her team made a serious management mistake that no one should ever repeat.”

Umm, no. Mishandling classified information information is a crime.

    http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/09/08/berger.sentenced/

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Former National Security Adviser Sandy Berger was sentenced Thursday to community service and probation and fined $50,000 for illegally removing highly classified documents from the National Archives and intentionally destroying some of them.

Berger must perform 100 hours of community service and pay the fine as well as $6,905 for the administrative costs of his two-year probation, a district court judge ruled…

    http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/23/politics/david-petraeus-sentencing/index.html

Washington (CNN)Gen. David Petraeus, once a widely celebrated military leader who oversaw operations in Afghanistan and Iraq and was touted as a potential presidential candidate, was sentenced to serve two years on probation and to pay an $100,000 fine on Thursday for sharing classified information with his biographer and lover, Paula Broadwell.

“Today marks the end of a two-and-a-half-year ordeal,” Petraeus said outside the Charlotte federal courthouse following his sentencing. “I now look forward to moving on with the next phase of my life.”

…Prosecutors agreed to not send Petraeus to jail because the classified information was never released to the public or published in the biography of him that Broadwell wrote.

The differences between these cases? Petraeus and Berger removed a few hard copies, brought them home with them, and there’s no evidence any of the classified information was compromised (Broadwell was cleared for that level of information).

Hillary! removed many more times the documents from a secure environment, only in electronic format when she stored them on her unclassified, unencrypted home server. And we know that information was compromised when it was hacked.

You can’t “hack” into a hard copy of a document.

Also, because in order to facilitate her desire for “convenience” by using only one device she refused to properly mark those classified documents. So some of that classified information has been made public because the State Dept. FOIA people didn’t recognize it as classified.

Which is the point of marking it as classified.

So Hillary!’s crime is far worse than Berger’s or Petraeus’ crimes. There is no question about that.

  37. And we know that information was compromised when it was hacked

No, it wasn’t hacked. (that we know of)

    Sidney Blumenthal’s e-mail was.

He was e-mailing what was supposed to be intelligence analysis to her at hdr22@clintonemail.com for circulation through the federal government, and she, was, presumably, communicating something back about its reception. I can see a problem here, but I’m actually just guessing that she wrote back, or talked to Blumenthal. Hillary Clinton would forward most of what he sent to Jake Sullivan, deleting some identifying information and perhaps some prefatory notes from Blumenthal, asking him to forward it further (through the classified system that would be) without mentioning anything about who was Hillary’s source. Hillary Clinton later supplied the copies of what she had sent to Jake Sullivan, but not what she didn’t forward and not the original e-mails from Blumenthal.

Neither do we have anything Hillary sent to Blumenthal. But this year Blumenthal was subpoenaed and did supply what he had sent Hillary.

Now Sidney Blumenthal was not actually the writer of these missives! That was Tyler Drumheller.

This fact was probably not known to anybody except Hillary and Bill Clinton.

And who is Tyler Drumheller? He was only the central figure in the Niger uranium story which led to the Scooter Libby case.

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/mar/25/monica-crowley-was-tyler-drumheller-part-of-hillar/?page=all

In 2001 and 2002, Mr. Drumheller served as European Division chief at the CIA’s Directorate of Operations, where he was a highly controversial figure whose disinformation campaigns often landed him in hot water. As investigative journalist Kenneth Timmerman has pointed out, Mr. Drumheller was at the center of the Niger uranium story later used by the left and the press to claim that President George W. Bush had “lied” about Saddam Hussein’s possession of weapons of mass destruction (WMD). “On three separate occasions,” Mr. Timmerman wrote, “he passed the Niger information up the food chain as validated intelligence, when the CIA had been warned that it was not.”

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyler_Drumheller

Tyler Drumheller served from 2001 to 2005 as the CIA’s top spy – the division chief for the Directorate of Operations (DO) – for clandestine operations in Europe until he retired in 2005. He was the first high-ranking CIA insider to write extensively on how supposed intelligence failures led to the war in Iraq, which he clearly feels has damaged national interest….He received and discounted documents central to the Niger yellowcake forgery prior to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He has also stated that senior White House officials dismissed intelligence information from his agency which reported Saddam Hussein had no WMD program. According to Drumheller the Bush administration ignored CIA advice and used whatever information it could find to justify an invasion of Iraq….On September 6, 2007, Sidney Blumenthal, reporting at Salon.com, supported Drumheller’s account: “Now two former senior CIA officers have confirmed Drumheller’s account to me and provided the background to the story of how the information that might have stopped the invasion of Iraq was twisted in order to justify it.”[3] –

  43. re #34: you know what the argument is going to be: if it wasn’t marked as secret/classified than it wasn’t secret/classified. Sort of argument Bill could get away with spouting. Get used to it, we will be hearing lots of it starting in 2017.

  44. Ah, that’s what America needs in a president: someone who takes a week to condemn something most of the country already did.

Yeesh, can you imagine how Hillary would’ve behaved on 9/11 (the 2001 attack, not the Benghazi attack that she left Stevens to die in)? She’d have been checking out polls to see how people feel about buildings collapsing.

“Hillary Clinton does only what the polling tells her to do. And since her target demographic is women, that must mean that somewhere, some messaging data has turned up a shift even among Hillary’s hardcore liberals.”

Gee, who would’ve thought that “harvesting fetal organs” would’ve been one of liberals’ buttons?
