IRS And DOJ Sought To Criminally Prosecute Targeted Conservative Groups

Filed under: General — Dana @ 4:48 pm

We are learning that not only did Obama’s IRS target conservative groups, it also had a rather cozy relationship with the DOJ and FBI as the agencies worked together to bring criminal charges against the select groups. (Remember, it was Lois Lerner who emailed DOJ officials back in 2013, saying, “One IRS prosecution would make an impact and they wouldn’t feel so comfortable doing the stuff.”)

From Judicial Watch:

Judicial Watch today released new Department of Justice (DOJ) and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) documents that include an official “DOJ Recap” report detailing an October 2010 meeting between Lois Lerner, DOJ officials and the FBI to plan for the possible criminal prosecution of targeted nonprofit organizations for alleged illegal political activity.

The newly obtained records also reveal that the Obama DOJ wanted IRS employees who were going to testify to Congress to turn over documents to the DOJ before giving them to Congress. Records also detail how the Obama IRS gave the FBI 21 computer disks, containing 1.25 million pages of confidential IRS returns from 113,000 nonprofit social 501(c)(4) welfare groups – or nearly every 501(c)(4) in the United States – as part of its prosecution effort. According to a letter from then-House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) to IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, “This revelation likely means that the IRS – including possibly Lois Lerner – violated federal tax law by transmitting this information to the Justice Department.”

The report also notes that Lois Lerner was actually meeting personally with DOJ officials about how to proceed with criminal charges.

Also, remember the president’s “outrage” when this story first broke?:

“If in fact IRS personnel engaged in the kind of practices that have been reported on and were intentionally targeting conservative groups, then that’s outrageous. And there’s no place for it,” Obama told reporters.

“And they have to be held fully accountable. Because the IRS as an independent agency requires absolute integrity, and people have to have confidence that they’re … applying the laws in a nonpartisan way.”

Most certainly, President Obama will once again be outraged and immediately task the FBI and DOJ to conduct a thorough investigation of… the FBI, DOJ, and IRS.

Parent (And I Use The Term Loosely) Discusses The Transition Of 3-Year Old Transgender Child

Filed under: General — Dana @ 10:22 am

[guest post by Dana]

On NPR, an Oakland mother discussed the transition of her 3-year old son from “Jack” to “Jackie”:

“It was May 15, 2014, and I remember the date because Jackie was out of school that day,” she says. “We drove to drop her older sister off at kindergarten. And normally Jackie is quite happy and content to hang out with me and play.”

Jackie was 3 then, and she was called Jack. Glancing into the backseat of her car, Mary noticed something different.

“Jackie just looked really, really sad; sadder than a 3-and-a-half-year-old should look,” Carter says. “This weight that looked like it weighed more than she did, something she had to say and I didn’t know what that was.”

“So I asked. I said, ‘Jackie, are you sad that you’re not going to school today?’ And Jackie was really quiet and put her head down and said ‘No, I’m sad because I’m a boy.’

Carter then asked, “You’re really not happy being a boy?”

“I thought a little bit longer and I said, ‘Well, are you happy being you?’ And that made Jackie smile,” she says. “And I felt like for that moment, that was all that really mattered. That was ‘The Day.’

At that point Carter went to a drug store and found elastic bands to pull Jackie’s hair into small ponytails.

“And I’ve never seen such a happy child,” Carter recalls. “To go from maybe an hour before this, this child who looks so sad, to that, I felt like I’d done something right by her.”

Indeed, that way madness lies…

Rave Review of Clinton CNN Interview: Desperate and Inauthentic

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 7:30 am

Democrats think Republicans can’t see media bias unless Republicans are the target. Oh, we can see it. We’re used to seeing it. And on those rare occasions when the bias is directed against a Democrat? I’m not gonna lie. It’s sweet payback.

This piece by Lloyd Grove at The Daily Beast regarding Hillary’s CNN interview is just delightful from start to finish. Here’s a taste:

Widening her eyes and nodding at times like a bobblehead doll—occasionally emitting a percussive laugh—Clinton dodged one policy question after another, pretended Sanders barely exists, and proclaimed her “total respect” for the pesky press—the same press that her campaign aides actually lassoed with ropes in the middle of a New Hampshire street in order to keep them away during a July 4th parade.

The only glitch was calling the softball interview “tough but eminently fair.” Otherwise, you can tell Grove hates Clinton, and it’s fun to read how much.

The candidate was, by turns, self-justifying and pugnacious, and occasionally just plain inauthentic, as she complained about her and her husband’s victimization by right-wingers and scandalous book authors—the correct people to blame, in her view, for the fact that six out of 10 voters don’t consider her “honest and trustworthy,” according to a recent CNN poll.

. . . .

She added emphatically—desperately?—“People should and do trust me.”

The Hillary hatred shines through even in the image they grabbed from the interview:

I can hear the instruction being given: Tell the intern to find me the image that best conveys “bitch.”

Democrats, this is the tone Republicans get from Big Media all the time. All. The. Time.

Enjoy.
