Happy Father’s Day

I am celebrating Father’s Day with my little angels – brunch at my favorite local place, taking one to church camp for a week, spending a couple hours of Daddy time on my Harley, then watching the conclusion of a great US Open after the youngest goes to bed.

I don’t get to celebrate this day with my father, as he is on a month long adventure in Africa – Victoria Falls today if his itenerary is correct. I owe that man for teaching me, by example, how to be a father and a man.

I hope everyone else’s day is full of love and happiness.

Because of the patriarchy. And privilege. This is a SJW field day. LOL

UPDATE BY PATTERICO: Unfortunately, I don’t get to celebrate this day with my father. But I got to spend many Father’s Days with him, and I get to spend the day with my family. My nephew is experiencing his first Father’s Day today as a dad. My sister is pregnant and there will be even more joy at Father’s Day next year. I am spending part of the day working, unfortunately; life does not always stop for holidays. But I got some wonderful gifts this morning, including a cool coffee mug, with a corporate-looking logo stating: “Daddy, Est. [insert children’s birthdates].” (Actual dates not included here because of Internet and crazy people.) Very cute. My daughter is making me dinner tonight. What could be better?
