Hillary Announces
[guest post by Dana]
In a rather bland video, Hillary formally announced that she is running for president. Clearly the image-makeover is well underway as we see a congenial, gracious and compassionate Hillary informing us that she wants to be our champion.
Americans have fought their way back from tough economic times, but the deck is still stacked in favor of those at the top,” Clinton says, speaking to the camera in front of her home in Chappaqua. “Everyday Americans need a champion, and I want to be that champion.
Because when families are strong, America is strong.”
As to Hillary being the woman for the White House, another woman begs to differ:
“I think our nation is at a pivotal time, so anyone who wants to be president or commander-in-chief needs a track record of leadership and accomplishment and trustworthiness. Hillary Clinton is a highly intelligent woman, hardworking, she’s dedicated her life to public service. But unfortunately, she does not have a track record of accomplishment or transparency,” Fiorina says.
“After the famous reset with Russia, Russia is now a more powerful adversary than it was when she became secretary of state. Our relationship with Israel has deteriorated dramatically. The Middle East is in flames. And of course she has not been transparent. She told us for weeks after the purposeful terrorist attack in Benghazi that this was the result of an American video in a demonstration gone bad, and now we learn that she has used a private email server and a private email system for the most sensitive of communications while she was secretary of state.
“She doesn’t have a track record of leadership or trustworthiness. She’s not the woman for the White House.”

Hello.
Dana (86e864) — 4/12/2015 @ 1:50 pmNot gonna watch it. Nope!
Gazzer (8d02a8) — 4/12/2015 @ 2:00 pmThe video felt really long. Maybe because everyone on it seemed so bland and forced. Watch it and let me know what you think.
Dana (86e864) — 4/12/2015 @ 2:02 pmOK, I watched it. Trite. Hit all the bullet points as you would expect. As little of Hillary as possible, but what there was did not exude warmth or sincerity. She just isn’t likeable. And if you can’t fake for the small amount of screen time she has, there is no hope. Or there shouldn’t be. Yet, TFG! Twice!
Gazzer (8d02a8) — 4/12/2015 @ 2:10 pmAlso, no actual content or accomplishments touted. Wonder why? No, I don’t.
Gazzer (8d02a8) — 4/12/2015 @ 2:11 pm==Americans have fought their way back from tough economic times==
Well, right out of the gate that’s an interesting statement! I don’t think most people young or old believe for a minute that they’ve successfully “fought their way back”–or that our country has. Can the sweet talking hottie convince them not to believe their own eyes and bank accounts?
elissa (e94370) — 4/12/2015 @ 2:18 pmhere’s 67 sad pitiful failmericans what were unable to fight their way back from the tough economic times
happyfeet (831175) — 4/12/2015 @ 2:25 pmI not sure why they are “pitiful failmericans.” Pitiable perhaps as hapless victims of GM’s greed and TFG’s zeal to pretend he saved GM in order to steal another election.

At least give her credit for being honest about herself, about her own devious, corrupt, two-faced circumstances.
Sheesh.
Are enough Americans so stupid that they’ll fall for the crud and crap of Hillary?
They say that liberalism is a mental illness. Regrettably, there are signs that far too many people throughout the US are suffering from that particular condition.
Mark (4bad5a) — 4/12/2015 @ 3:35 pmByron York (H/T Powerline) has some pointed things to say about Hillary and Brood.
Here’s a sample:
“…a new photo spread in the trendy fashion magazine ELLE featuring Chelsea Clinton modeling high-priced clothing, jewelry and shoes while discussing equal opportunity — all of that made for a discordant note in ClintonWorld’s big week…”
That’s our Hill…..a Uniter, not a Divider.
askeptic (efcf22) — 4/12/2015 @ 4:09 pmFiorina vs Hillary. I’d have a hard time choosing the more qualified. After leading Lucent out of AT&T and into oblivion, Fiorina came close to destroying her next victim, HP, particularly with the horrific Compaq deal. At the end she was bugging the Board of Directors and squeezing the last Hewletts out of the company for disloyalty.
It has taken a number of successors to right the ship.

Absolutely dumbfounded by people like her, much less her former boss. Then I observe the reaction towards her by a good percentage of the US populace (eg, Gallup Poll), and I’m even more dumbfounded by them than by her.
I ask myself is my disdain of her (and her ilk) due to my ideology being in the opposite direction of hers? But I don’t think that’s fair to myself since if there were a rightwing version of Hillary, with all her blatant mendacity and grotesque incompetency, I sure as hell wouldn’t be fawning over her. I’d instead be livid that a conservative was tarnishing the image of the Republican Party and a right-leaning philosophy. But that — and by contrast — so much of the left, most of the media, and the Democrat Party’s hierarchy are perfectly content with Hillary! (much less Obama!) illustrates there’s something profoundly, astonishingly defective about left-leaning sentiment.

askeptic (efcf22) — 4/12/2015 @ 10:35 pmWho was it that said that no one ever became poor underestimating the American people?
Perhaps their contempt is the theme.
No political consultant ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the Democratic Party.

Not that it has harmed them any.
Kevin M (25bbee) — 4/12/2015 @ 11:17 pmre #54 (and 55-56): No , that was not what Mencken wrote. Although unlike the misatribution of the Nixon quote to Kael the misquote does not really change the meaning of what he wrote.
It was not actually a sentance, more like a paragraph. The part we are interested in at the moment went like this:

Most women who join the Marines are sane. They are not Chelsea Clinton. Who the Clintons would never let serve.

Steve57 (cd6f9a) — 4/13/2015 @ 11:58 pmre #74: still the women are in good enough shape to get into the Marines. I wonder why the paucity. especially considering that police forces didn’t have nearly that much disparity.
back in the 80s, major cities on the East Coast changed their guidelines for strength and fitness to get into police academy. once in, a good number of women were able to complete the more rigorous exams. unfortunately a grip test was deemed to be too sexist in the regular entrance exam and several casualties resulted from that decision. But there are plenty of women who can complete the police type exams, you’d think the proportion would be the same with the Marines.

Steve57 (cd6f9a) — 4/14/2015 @ 12:22 amseaRpea, there’s this little thing about carrying a combat load for days at a time. Also, going weeks and months without the basics of hygiene or decent food. Which means you will at some point have to drop trow and crap on the trail in front of God and leering 19 year old guys and everybody. Because your digestive system won’t give you the choice.
A lot of women don’t find this an attractive career choice.
Which is why the Marines, where you’ll probably find the most hardcore women of women, could not come up with its target of 100 IOC candidates in two years of trying. They already know.
