Obama State Dep’t Spokesmoron: We Found a Religion Relevant to a Terror Group: Christianity!
These people in the Obama administration are really something.
- They refuse to call Christians who are beheaded “Christians”
- They refuse to call Islamic extremist terrorists “Islamic”
But find them a Christian terror group, and they’ll call it Christian:
What do you expect from a group who thinks that the underlying cause for terrorism is not an extremist interpretation of Islam, but rather a lack of jobs?
This fellow lays out a solid case for why we are in for some trying times ahead, given the malevolent narcissist who currently occupies the Oval Office.

There’s got to be a long German word that sums up their unique combination of jaw-dropping stupidity, arrogance, incompetence, and malevolence,

Undoubtedly heightened, or certainly not discouraged, by current public opinion polls that show greater numbers of Americans approving of his performance today than even a few months ago, against the backdrop of his doing better than his predecessor did at the 6-year mark of Bush’s presidency back in 2007.
^ Places like Michigan’s largest city, or Mexico, or France, or Venezuela, or Argentina, etc, should always be kept in mind as a daily reminder to anyone who believes that things in the US can’t get any worse or can’t possibly remain quite bad. IOW, to think that way is to be ignorant of the intrinsic failings of human nature, from sea to shining sea.

Cargo cults are Christian too.
I’m going to go out on a limb and figure that there will be some Christian warlords emerge in Nigeria and elsewhere in Africa. Never mind that their ascendency will be due at least in part to the Islamic groups running wild and terrorizing the outback Christians who have no other option than to hook up with whatever warlord for basic safety

There isn’t one damn thing linking any of it to Christianity at all. Jim Jones is John the Baptist compared to this collection of voodoo, freaks, and witchdoctors.
Steve is probably right that the wikipedia entry was doctored by a WH spokeshole.

Colonel Haiku (2601c0) — 2/19/2015 @ 6:37 amThe main complaint I would have of her is that she choose to work for the person she does, doing the job she is told to do.
Given that, her comments are perfectly rational and expected.
Ben Carson said he would not accept an appointment to any position from the president.

happyfeet (a037ad) — 2/19/2015 @ 7:05 amWhomever did their talking points is a complete moron. Ripping on Christians in the context of discussing terrorism is a complete non-starter. Tone deaf.
carlitos (c24ed5) — 2/19/2015 @ 7:40 amThis era is reminiscent of watching a big car crash in slow motion, with Obama (et al) at the wheel, many Americans in the passenger seat (hello, latest Gallup Poll!) — eyes dreamily closed and listening happily to their iTunes — while other people with some sanity are on the side of the road witnessing things with gap-mouthed disdain and morbid fascination. Regrettably, when the car crashes, it will send metal chunks flying in their (or our) direction.
BTW, I bet if Ben Carson had been America’s first black president, his popularity would be lower today than that of President “Goddamn America,” meaning liberalism or leftism is what is ultimately pinging the consciousness of far too much of the public.
Been nice knowing you, America.
Mark (c160ec) — 2/19/2015 @ 7:46 amAnyone who would accept a job from this maladministration has already chosen corruption over honor and leftist ideology over The American Spirit. They all need to be terminated with extreme prejudice.
Hoagie (58a3ec) — 2/19/2015 @ 7:50 amMark is absolutely correct. It has been nice knowing you America. We’ve become a nation which values gay marriage, unfettered abortion and “medicinal” marijuana over Liberty, Justice and a culture of Heroic Goodness. What the hell have the leftists done to my Great country?
Hoagie (58a3ec) — 2/19/2015 @ 7:57 amCan someone refresh my memory about how all that pretzel logic worked, and how long this administration kept twisting itself into a pretzel, to avoid designating Boko Haram as a terrorist organization?
Because here we have Marie Harf (D-Chi Omega) talking about how Joseph Kony as a threat “we face.” Well, they sure came to that conclusion awfully quickly and without any struggle.
“State Dept. Spox: Why is Nobody Talking about Kony Anymore?”
How blind of us all! But in my own defense, I was blinded by all the smoke from the smoldering bodies of all those ISIS victims.

A. Obama did his best to convince people that he had taken care of the problem.
Also, it’s pretty small scale compared to some other things that have happened in Africa recently.
They also stopped talking about things the government of Sudan is doing. We’re not talking abut Darfur either, but it’s not over.

papertiger (c2d6da) — 2/19/2015 @ 12:33 pmBecause marijuana is legal in California – right?
Wrong. I don’t know it it was Obama’s DEA dropping the hammer, or if it was some zealot in a Californy deptm of health, weights, and storefronts. Either way the results were raids, closures, confiscations of improvements, and bewildered head shop operators wondering where their investments retirements, life savinges had gone, in between pulls on the hookah.
Justice Scalia said that interstate commerce had something to do with growing, selling and smoking pot in CA. He would know, I guess.

papertiger (c2d6da) — 2/19/2015 @ 12:53 pmIt is a good point, as drug dependency creates more wards for the welfare state.
There’s a reason why freedom, as far as liberals are concerned, only apply to sex and drugs. It’s good for business, if you’re in the nanny state business.
Steve57 (e16ed8) — 2/19/2015 @ 12:54 pmPost one and its link should be required reading for any State Department job. Colonel, thanks for finding a link to his essays. I saved one from a few years ago from the Ottawa newspaper that originally published it.
Yes: a lot of people have entertained the idea, that Mikhail Gorbachev was to the late great Soviet Union, what Barack Obama is to the surviving United States — the leader who reforms so many things so quickly that his country suddenly disappears. One recalls the speed with which the first Soviet head of state to be born after the October Revolution became its last head of state. It took him about three years: just less than the time of one U.S. presidential term. (Though he had already taken three years to warm up, as General Secretary of the Communist Party.)
A very perspicacious essay. That was from 2008 or 2009.
