Hezbollah Attacks Israeli Patrol, Killing Two. . .
[guest post by JVW]
. . . and some members of Lebanon’s Tehran-allied puppet government claim it’s a ploy by Netanyahu in the run-up to the Israeli elections. You just can’t underestimate the level of paranoia that is entrenched in the anti-Israel mindset.

In keeping with the theme of brief posts that Patterico established for today.
JVW (aa050c) — 1/28/2015 @ 4:40 pmMy comment, also, shall be brief.

mg (31009b) — 1/28/2015 @ 4:54 pmNetanyahu just needs to let Hezbollah be Hezbollah to prove his point. They are a nasty nerve ending that fires when stimulated and always with the the same reflex arc.
Mike K (90dfdc) — 1/28/2015 @ 5:08 pmGreeks know very well what a filthy cesspool Lebanon, and especially Beirut, has always been. A hub for every vice known. Then Black September went in and added murderous violence to the corruption.
nk (dbc370) — 1/28/2015 @ 5:15 pmAnd don’t tell me these guys are Muslims. They got their catechism from the KGB’s terrorist training unit at Patrice Lumumba University.
nk (dbc370) — 1/28/2015 @ 5:19 pmnk, I have a confession: I originally wrote “Arab mindset” then changed it to “anti-Israel mindset.” To some degree I cowardly self-censored, but I also wanted to include the world of Western leftists who will also worry much more about Israel’s response than they will about Hezbollah’s crime. But I want you to know that I concur with you completely.
JVW (60ca93) — 1/28/2015 @ 5:36 pmIt’s ok, JVW. It’s my job to be “Patterico’s resident hammer”. https://patterico.com/2009/03/25/full-balko-story-on-manufactured-evidence-now-online/#comment-478006 😉

redc1c4 (dab236) — 1/28/2015 @ 6:40 pmColonel Haiku,
The White House spends so much time walking on verbal eggshells and not offending that they are unable to come up with a feasible game plan on how to break these armed insurgent terrorist groups. Perhaps it’s intentional.
Dana (8e74ce) — 1/28/2015 @ 6:44 pmDana: why would Obola want to “break” people/groups he is fundamentally supportive of?
redc1c4 (dab236) — 1/28/2015 @ 6:51 pmBreaking… White House spokespuppet Eric Shultz says Taliban is an “armed insurgency” not a terrorist group
Of course. Obama wants to cut a deal with them and let them run the show in Afghanistan once again in return for no more brutal acts against Afghanis until after Dear Leader and his team have departed the White House. We can’t do that if they are designated a terrorist group, but we can certainly do that if they are an armed insurgency.

Sammy Finkelman (e806a6) — 1/28/2015 @ 7:02 pmNo more brutal acts against Americans is enough for him.
Perhaps, Sammy, perhaps. But I think even Obama knows that it would look awful if we return Afghanistan to Taliban control and they go back to their repressive hyper-Sharia ways. Even Obama can’t count on a pliant and slavering mainstream media to cover for him on that.
JVW (60ca93) — 1/28/2015 @ 7:15 pmYep, Dana, it’s a Jr. Varsity administration all the way around. Unserious. Dangerous for America. The Left must not be entrusted with America’s security or well -being. And yet here we are, faced with two more years of this absolute nonsense.

Every single time we have launched a long range missile, or a high altitude air strike, or naval canon barrage, or an artillery barrage at a “military objective” in a civilian area.

When you think of it, it’s not much of an argument. But I’ll tell you this. I am not ashamed. I would be if I did half the s*** the Palestinian heroes did. Like sneak into a house and kill a three month old. I took pride in the fact that the people I was training to kill were armed and could fight back.
Steve57 (a04df5) — 1/29/2015 @ 2:35 pmIn the air raid that killed the Iranian general, a Russian expert was also lightly
wounded.
Yes, yes, yes. There was a Syrian/Russian intelligence base on a small mountain in the Syrian neighborhood of the Golan. A Free Syrian Army unit overran it in September or early October and captured lots of documents which were taken to Israel.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obama-s-israel-problem_830240.html
We have a petty, thin-skinned, narcissistic man-child utterly devoid of class and character as a preezy. Putin showed he had Prom Queen’s number in that NYT op-ed. Obama is a two year old. I now realize I was giving President Mean Girl too much credit when I labelled his administration the Freshman Dorm Presidency. He lacks that amount of maturity. And here he is throwing a two year old type tantrum.
JVW mentioned the “level of paranoia that is entrenched in the anti-Israel mindset.” President Passive Aggressive definitely has an anti-Israel mindset, but I’m not sure if paranoia adequately describes his mental disorder.
I hope Boehner and Netanyahu succeed in tipping him entirely off his nut. A very public meltdown, that’s what I’m hoping for.
Steve57 (a04df5) — 1/30/2015 @ 4:18 amObama is not down with the idea of representational government. How dare people elect anybody Obama disapproves of! Republicans. Bibi.
http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2015/01/is-the-obama-administration-funding-opposition-to-netanyahu.php
This guy is a disgusting excuse for a human being. And he’s our preezy!
Again, this is yet another example of the anti-Israel mindset. Obama’s problem with Netanyahu, you see, is that Netanyahu is pro-Israel. And Obama thinks Israel should have a leader who is less pro-Israel and more pro-Iranian. A leader more like him, who also hates the country he became President of.
Obama won’t be satisfied with just fundamentally transforming the US.
Steve57 (a04df5) — 1/30/2015 @ 4:48 amObama is an idiot. Anybody who thinks Iran will give up its nuclear program is an idiot. Because the mullahs are not idiots. They saw what happened to Qaddafi when he gave up his nukes. We invaded his country and killed him. They saw what happened in Yugoslavia and in Iraq. They see what’s happening in Ukraine now — Ukraine gave up its nukes too. Georgia. Chechnya. Afghanistan. They will not rely on “international law” (ha-ha-ha) or our good intentions (ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha) for their security.
nk (dbc370) — 1/30/2015 @ 4:58 amI agree, nk. Obama is an idiot. But mere idiocy doesn’t cover all the bases. Obama clearly thinks that grovelling to get the Mullah’s to sign onto a deal, any deal, will make him some sort of epic President. This is a deeply weird obsession. It is devoid of logic.
It would make sense from an American-hating perspective (which is why he’s cool with Bergdahl’s desertion). But from the way Obama talks, he’s under the impression we’re going to thank him later for cutting an abortion of a deal with Iran. We’re going to wake up one day and agree with him that yes we’ve been doing it wrong throughout our entire history. And thank the Messiah Barack Obama came along and showed us the error of our ways.
Because there’s an up side to Iran getting nuclear weapons or something.
