Hezbollah Attacks Israeli Patrol, Killing Two. . .

. . . and some members of Lebanon’s Tehran-allied puppet government claim it’s a ploy by Netanyahu in the run-up to the Israeli elections. You just can’t underestimate the level of paranoia that is entrenched in the anti-Israel mindset.

  9. nk, I have a confession: I originally wrote “Arab mindset” then changed it to “anti-Israel mindset.” To some degree I cowardly self-censored, but I also wanted to include the world of Western leftists who will also worry much more about Israel’s response than they will about Hezbollah’s crime. But I want you to know that I concur with you completely.

The White House spends so much time walking on verbal eggshells and not offending that they are unable to come up with a feasible game plan on how to break these armed insurgent terrorist groups. Perhaps it’s intentional.

Of course. Obama wants to cut a deal with them and let them run the show in Afghanistan once again in return for no more brutal acts against Afghanis until after Dear Leader and his team have departed the White House. We can’t do that if they are designated a terrorist group, but we can certainly do that if they are an armed insurgency.

  19. No more brutal acts against Americans is enough for him.

Perhaps, Sammy, perhaps. But I think even Obama knows that it would look awful if we return Afghanistan to Taliban control and they go back to their repressive hyper-Sharia ways. Even Obama can’t count on a pliant and slavering mainstream media to cover for him on that.

    JVW (60ca93)

  20. Yep, Dana, it’s a Jr. Varsity administration all the way around. Unserious. Dangerous for America. The Left must not be entrusted with America’s security or well -being. And yet here we are, faced with two more years of this absolute nonsense.

He doesn’t really expect that to happen, though.

But he doesn’t want U.S. troops to be preventing it.

When ISIS threatened to take over Iraq, he did intervene, so far without getting
anybody from the U.S> military, killed, captured or wounded.

  37. Oh yeah? What are those ICBMs aimed at? What about the radio station in Belgrade? Or the Chinese embassy? Or free fire zones in Vietnam? Or the carper bombing in Cambodia? Or Awlaki’s kid? Did everybody in Nagasaki and Hisorshima work in the shipyards? Or in Tokyo? Or in Dresden? Or a thousand other examples. Be honest. Leave the hypocrisy to the other side.

    nk (dbc370)

  38. I ask you again, and it’s not nitpicking. When’s the last time the US military authorized the shooting up of a mall? Mr. Moral Equivalency.

Every single time we have launched a long range missile, or a high altitude air strike, or naval canon barrage, or an artillery barrage at a “military objective” in a civilian area.

    nk (dbc370)

  39. Killing Awlaki’s kid was wrong. I don’t dispute that. If I had some involvement in that I would have objected.

    He was not the target.

In fact, unimportant enemy combatants are not even the target(s)

They were relying on wrong information, n fact probably disinformation. This has happened over and over again.

    Score 1 for Hezbollah.

  45. “I am offended!”

When you think of it, it’s not much of an argument. But I’ll tell you this. I am not ashamed. I would be if I did half the s*** the Palestinian heroes did. Like sneak into a house and kill a three month old. I took pride in the fact that the people I was training to kill were armed and could fight back.

    Steve57 (a04df5)

  46. In the air raid that killed the Iranian general, a Russian expert was also lightly
    wounded.

Yes, yes, yes. There was a Syrian/Russian intelligence base on a small mountain in the Syrian neighborhood of the Golan. A Free Syrian Army unit overran it in September or early October and captured lots of documents which were taken to Israel.

  47. OK, I am embarrassed.

    http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obama-s-israel-problem_830240.html

The Obama administration is angry with Israel. Here’s the administration’s house organ, the New York Times, this morning…

…Of course, the official who last summer called Prime Minister Netanyahu a “coward” and a “chickens–t” would not be named either. But there is no reason to think those unnamed angry officials do not speak for an angry president.

…Why has Obama been lashing out? Because he had a dream. He was to be the American president who would preside at, and take credit for, the founding of a Palestinian state. Obama would be to Palestine what Harry Truman was to Israel. Now it’s clear that’s not going to happen during his presidency. Obama’s frustrated that it’s not going to happen. So he lashes out.

But Obama is still pursuing another dream: to be the American president who goes to Tehran, who achieves with Iran what Richard Nixon achieved with China. And he thinks Israel, and Israel’s friends in the United States, stand in the way of achieving that dream. So he has another reason to be angry.

Of course, it’s not Israel but reality that stands in the way of Obama’s dreams. His Cairo speech, and the policies that followed from it, have crashed on the shoals of reality…

We have a petty, thin-skinned, narcissistic man-child utterly devoid of class and character as a preezy. Putin showed he had Prom Queen’s number in that NYT op-ed. Obama is a two year old. I now realize I was giving President Mean Girl too much credit when I labelled his administration the Freshman Dorm Presidency. He lacks that amount of maturity. And here he is throwing a two year old type tantrum.

JVW mentioned the “level of paranoia that is entrenched in the anti-Israel mindset.” President Passive Aggressive definitely has an anti-Israel mindset, but I’m not sure if paranoia adequately describes his mental disorder.

I hope Boehner and Netanyahu succeed in tipping him entirely off his nut. A very public meltdown, that’s what I’m hoping for.

    Steve57 (a04df5)

  48. Obama is not down with the idea of representational government. How dare people elect anybody Obama disapproves of! Republicans. Bibi.

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2015/01/is-the-obama-administration-funding-opposition-to-netanyahu.php

This guy is a disgusting excuse for a human being. And he’s our preezy!

Again, this is yet another example of the anti-Israel mindset. Obama’s problem with Netanyahu, you see, is that Netanyahu is pro-Israel. And Obama thinks Israel should have a leader who is less pro-Israel and more pro-Iranian. A leader more like him, who also hates the country he became President of.

Obama won’t be satisfied with just fundamentally transforming the US.

    Steve57 (a04df5)

  49. Obama is an idiot. Anybody who thinks Iran will give up its nuclear program is an idiot. Because the mullahs are not idiots. They saw what happened to Qaddafi when he gave up his nukes. We invaded his country and killed him. They saw what happened in Yugoslavia and in Iraq. They see what’s happening in Ukraine now — Ukraine gave up its nukes too. Georgia. Chechnya. Afghanistan. They will not rely on “international law” (ha-ha-ha) or our good intentions (ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha) for their security.

    nk (dbc370)

  50. I agree, nk. Obama is an idiot. But mere idiocy doesn’t cover all the bases. Obama clearly thinks that grovelling to get the Mullah’s to sign onto a deal, any deal, will make him some sort of epic President. This is a deeply weird obsession. It is devoid of logic.

It would make sense from an American-hating perspective (which is why he’s cool with Bergdahl’s desertion). But from the way Obama talks, he’s under the impression we’re going to thank him later for cutting an abortion of a deal with Iran. We’re going to wake up one day and agree with him that yes we’ve been doing it wrong throughout our entire history. And thank the Messiah Barack Obama came along and showed us the error of our ways.

Because there’s an up side to Iran getting nuclear weapons or something.

    Steve57 (a04df5)

  53. True, he’s on their side. But he also thinks we’re supposed to appreciate his genius. That’s the weird thing.

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2015/01/behind-the-white-houses-defense-of-the-taliban.php

…When Obama’s spokesman calls the Taliban an “armed insurrection” — thereby attempting to confer legitimacy on this outfit — what he really means is “peace partner.”

Scott is right, the Obama administration is more than just a clown show. It “falls into the killer clown horror genre.”

He thinks we should be thanking him.

    Steve57 (a04df5)

  54. So what are we to do with a Congress that obstinately refuses to connect the dots and instead aid and abet the enemy?
