Friday Links aka Compilations of Delusional Stupidity

3 More Pinocchios for Obama. How many is that now?

This special little snowflake essentially pushes the idea that saying that Abbott won the women’s vote, an objective fact beyond dispute, is inaccurate and racist because it negates the position of minority women.

That’s certainly not enough women to say that Abbott won the whole gender (though that’s a ludicrous statement in the first place). It seems to be enough, though, to result in the erasure of votes from women of color

Special little snowflake has a friend, one that is equally functionally illiterate in math.

Let me help you … 52 > 47.

You’ll hear that Greg Abbott “carried” women voters in Texas. Anyone who says that is also saying this: that Black women and Latinas are not “women,” and that carrying white women is enough to make the blanket statement that Abbott carried all women. That women generally failed to vote for Wendy Davis. As if women of color are some separate entity, some mysterious other, some bizarre demographic of not-women. […]
Once more, with feeling: Greg Abbott and the Republican Party did not win women. They won white women.

I never made it past the 1st paragraph, due to uncontrollable laughter.

President Obama looked almost relieved after Tuesday’s election blowout. A man who has been perhaps the least political president in modern U.S. history doesn’t have to worry about elections anymore.

Imagine if a Conservative had tweeted this out. . This kind of asshattery is acceptable in mainstream leftism.

They just keep rolling in today …

“Is there one thing you can say to American voters they’re going to see that’s different, given the message they sent on Tuesday,” NBC News White House correspondent Chris Jansing asked.
“They’re going to see Washington working better if this president has his way,” McDonough replied.

You can watch the video of it here. If only he could get his way, things would be unicorns crapping Skittles and fairy dust.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, following the election results from Tuesday. As someone said in a comment thread that I was reading last night, if your schadenboner lasts longer than 4 hours, enjoy it.

In other unrelated news, 2015 insurance rates will be released soon. The timing of this had nothing to do with anything that was scheduled earlier this week.

What an odd coinky dink. That’s exactly what the leftists are saying now.

    http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/psaki-worried-obama-will-be-too-professorial-for-couch-sitting-beer-drinkers/article/2509481

President Obama’s campaign spokeswoman said she’s concerned Obama will sound too “professorial” to resonate with the low-information voters tuning into the presidential campaign for the first time during this week’s debate.

“[W]hat the American [people] are looking for is not just a professorial list of facts or accomplishments or even goals,” Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said yesterday as part of her ongoing, almost-comical attempt to lower expectations going into the debates. She then lamented that Obama “has a tendency to give longer, substantive answers.”

Psaki’s concern that Professor Obama will appear during the debates is understandable given that “he was the third-lowest-ranked lecturer” at the University of Chicago Law School in 1999.

Silly me. When I went to college the role of a professor was to be able to explain things in a way that even an 18 year old who didn’t know much if anything about the subject at hand would be able to grasp.

Who knew that “professorial” meant discussing a topic in an incoherent and needlessly complicated manner? By that standard the assistant professor from Taiwan teaching calculus who never turned to face the class but instead kept his face inches away from the chalkboard while mumbling something under his breath about the equations in heavily accented, incomprehensible English was the height of professorship.

Like you, JD, I never had the urbane sophistication to understand that. Silly me, I thought the height of professorship was to make a subject understandable. I am not worthy…

  19. Professorial. It’s gone viral in the ranks of the the Obama administration.

    http://twitchy.com/2013/01/31/supporters-tell-chuck-todd-that-hagel-is-too-professorial/

MSNBC lapdog Chuck Todd tossed a life preserver to floundering Secretary of Defense nominee Chuck Hagel earlier today, taking to Twitter to argue that it was unfair of Sen. Ted Cruz to bring up Hagel’s response to a C-SPAN caller. Todd wasn’t done, though. He later tweeted that Hagel’s flame-out was due to his being “professorial.” Not that that’s what Todd thinks — he’s just an objective journalist passing along what he’s heard from Hagel supporters.

So, the same testimony that Brit Hume said revealed Hagel to be “just not very bright” has others defending him as too professorial? Sounds about right.

Catch the professorial virus today! Become Obama’s next nominee for a job requiring Senate confirmation.

Be honest. We can all remember when our professors fessed up to being idiots who only got their teaching gigs through nepotism or doing favors for politicians but promised to learn through OJT.

“There are a lot of things I don’t know about. I, if confirmed, intend to know a lot more than I do. I will have to.”

profes·sori·al (prf-sôr-l, -sr-, prf-) adj.: insulting entire populations through ignorance because you don’t know jack s@#$ about Norway or Argentina and couldn’t even pick them out on a map but getting the ambassador job anyway because you bundled $500k for Obama.

    Steve57 (c1c90e)

  20. Steve57,

The shift in Professorial style happened a while ago, when the thundering stupidity of collectivist politics and playing footsie with bomb throwing nuts became so obvious that the Lefty Intellectual Professoriat had to retreat behind obfuscation, jargon, and blather.

I mean, the gods forbid they admit they got snowed by successive bunches of psychos with nice lines in Revolutionary Patter, and, you know, own up to being accessories to the mass murders committed by the likes of Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and everybody’s poster boy torturer, Che.

That’s the way the Intellectual (by now Ineffectual) Left has been going since the 1930’s. The inutility, stupidity, mendaciousness, and horror of one policy after another has become clear. And as that has happened, the Left has retreated into code words, victim politics, jargon, sideshows, and so on. The “Art World” has degenerated into a series of in-jokes and shock-the-squares exhibits, and I fully expect that Tom Wolfe’s suggestion that the director of a modern art museum must have nightmares where he gets a call that says “They’re on to us” is spot on. They really haven’t got much left. The environment needs watching, but these days as much damage is done by environmentalist brainlessness as by outright Corporate Greed ™. The inner cities are resembling beautiful downtown Beirut more every year, but since the worst cases are and have been under long term Lefty rule, the Lefty case for letting them solve it is getting threadbare.

They can’t talk clearly. If they did, the populace they’ve battened on for so long would dangle them from lamp posts.

  21. This is getting more and more Nixonian by the hour. There’s a disconnect between what the White House thinks is going on and what everybody else knows is going on. It’s a complete denial of reality and Obama and his administration are so disoriented by and unaccustomed to a situation like this, it’s likely they will never recover.

    Colonel Haiku (2601c0)

  22. and that is not being fair to Nixon who, even with his faults and criminal tendencies, was a better man than schlep Obama.

  25. I think there’s some validity to the argument that Abbott won the Texas governorship due to white, rather than minority, women.

Particularly if the white women in question include Wendy Davis.

  26. Too bad you didn’t make it beyond the first paragraph of David Ignatius’ article. If you had, you would have seen this gem:

“Obama’s challenge in his final two years won’t be to conceive new foreign policy strategy (it’s pretty much set) but to implement it.”

Of course we all know that Obama’s key strength is foreign policy implementation.

  27. The left and Obama are still in the denial stage. Wait until they get to anger.

  28. I did see this comment by kchoze:

Not a conservative at all, I’ve never voted for a right-leaning candidate in my life.

I’m pointing out that telling white people that the GOP is their party and that they’re not welcome in the Democratic Party is not likely to yield great electoral results amongst them. That you decide the proper reaction to this seemingly self-evident statement is to… get this… heap even more scorn on white men just reflects how deep the disease runs.

As to self-examination, I’ve seen in my life that no matter who you are, it’s always the other guy who is incapable of self-examination and never yourself. It doesn’t help when one defines “self-examination” as “to accept what I say about you as the gospel, to adopt my point of view of yourself as your own, without criticism or variation allowed”.

    Michael Ejercito (4775b5)

  29. Does this “delusional stupidity” topic include the current Lefty trope that “the recent Republican surge indicates that voters want to end gridlock in Washington; they want a Congress that can move past partisan obstructionism, they want legislators who will negotiate and compromise and get something done!”

Uhrmmmm. . . do they not hear themselves?
    (1) The Dem argument since OBummer took office is that the Repubs were partisan and obstructionist and kept Congress gridlocked,
    but
    (2) We-the-People just dumped a bunch of Dems out of office,
    therefore
    (3) We-the-Peeps voted in MORE Republicans (who are partisan-and-obstuctionist, remember!) in order to allow Congress to actually “get to work”.
    (4) … Tell me again what that implies about the source of gridlock?

    Heh, heh, heh.

    = = = = = = =

Yes, I know, I know. They do labels and soundbites only; the next step, “logically it follows that —>”, is lost on them.

Just like they don’t analyze certain OTHER of their assertions:
Democrats win big- “The people have given us a mandate to move on our ideas NOW! — we don’t have time to dither with the Party of NO.”
Republicans win big- “The people want bi-partisanship and compromise, so that Democrat policies can be implemented with fair-and-balanced input from both sides.”

    Sigh.

And Obama’s telling us he’s sure he’ll “have no regrets” about his “final quarter in office”. The bad, sad, horrid, terrifying thing is- I believe him.

David Ignatius’ reference to conception made me think of the TV show “Teen Mom.”

Teen moms are in charge of conceiving President Mean Girl’s foreign policy as well as implementing it.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/11/07/lawmakers-slam-obama-letter-to-iran-ayatollah-ali-khamenei/

Prom Queen 2012 now finds he can’t get a date at his own high school for homecoming this year. So he’s going to show everybody he’s still smart and pretty and sexy and get some tough jock from that other high school to take him to the prom.

And even go steady with him.

Yeah, Netanyahu’s not tough. He’s just chicken$@$@ like all the rest of guys on the varsity team. Tiger Beat is going to show everybody they’re wrong by hooking up with one of the cross town rivals.

By…writing pathetic, pleading texts and getting his few remaining friends to pass notes to the big, tough mean jocks at Tehran Technical H.S. begging them “please, please, PUHLEEEEZE just take me to the prom and I’ll give you anything you want. I’ll do anything. ANYTHING!”

Actually, I never thought I’d say this but comparing President Miley Cyrus to teen moms is an insult to teen moms. Because a lot of them learned that being desperate isn’t a plan. Obumble will do anything to just get a yes from the Iranians. It doesn’t matter what they say yes to and how much they take as long as he can wave a piece of paper around and declare a foreign policy victory. You’d think after six years of getting used as a party favor by this same crowd he keeps pleading with he might learn something even a fifteen year old can learn. But, no.

Can we please do the decent and responsible thing and cause this guy a very public nervous breakdown so we can stop him? Now’s the time; he’s looking particularly fragile and unhinged since Tuesday.
