Angry Black Woman Schools Students About Justice

Filed under: General — Dana @ 6:53 am

[guest post by Dana]

As the world watches the escalating war between Israel and Hamas, it’s become increasingly fashionable to see college students in the West demanding justice for Palestine, as they protest Israel. Antisemitism just might be the new black.

But justice is a funny word as college student Chloe Valdary so eloquently and fiercely points out. Here is a portion of her open letter to protesting students:

To the Students for Justice in Palestine, a Letter From an Angry Black Woman

The student organization Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) is prominent on many college campuses, preaching a mantra of “Freeing Palestine.” It masquerades as though it were a civil rights group when it is not. Indeed, as an African-American, I am highly insulted that my people’s legacy is being pilfered for such a repugnant agenda. It is thus high time to expose its agenda and lay bare some of the fallacies they peddle….

• If you support a racist doctrine of Arab supremacism and wish (as a corollary of that doctrine) to destroy the Jewish state, you do not get to claim that the prejudices you peddle are forms of legitimate “resistance.”

• ….If your idea of a righteous cause entails targeting and intimidating Jewish students on campus, arrogating their history of exile-and-return and fashioning it in your own likeness you do not get to claim that you do so in the name of civil liberty and freedom of expression….

• You do not get to champion a system wherein Jews are barred from purchasing land, traveling in certain areas, and living out such an existence merely because they are Jews—and claim that you are promoting equality for all. You do not get to enable that system by pushing a boycott of Jewish owned businesses, shops, and entities—and then claim that you are “against apartheid.” That is evil….

• You do not get to pretend as though you and Rosa Parks would have been great buddies in the 1960s. Rosa Parks was a real Freedom Fighter. Rosa Parks was a Zionist.

Coretta Scott King was a Zionist.

A. Phillip Randolph was a Zionist.

Bayard Rustin was a Zionist.

Count Basie was a Zionist.

Dr. Martin Luther King Sr. was a Zionist….

You see, my people have always been Zionists because my people have always stood for the freedom of the oppressed. So, you most certainly do not get to culturally appropriate my people’s history for your own. You do not have the right to invoke my people’s struggle for your shoddy purposes and you do not get to feign victimhood in our name. You do not have the right to slander my people’s good name and link your cause to that of Dr. King’s. Our two causes are diametrically opposed to each other….

Her letter can be read in full here.

  5. Oh, get over yourself, Valdary. “You do not have the right to invoke” is victim-speak for “I’m a bigger victim than you”.

Must I say that I support Israel’s current battles, and that I support civil rights (like the Republicans)?

Crap like this makes me think there’s nowhere to go with freedom-loving politics.

Yes, that’s the whole point. She’s using their own language to fight them.

Or for all I know she may even believe in that language, she may be one of them in general, and yet see how what they’re doing is wrong even according to their own world-view. What’s wrong with that? Must she agree with us on everything before we applaud her support on one issue? Telling me that Martin Luther King was a zionist doesn’t impress me at all; I know he was also many other things that I don’t admire. But it ought to impress those who’ve canonized him and idolize him, so telling them about it is useful.

    I love to go a-protesting,
    Along the campus track,
And as I go, I have to scream,
    My jihad’s got my back.
    Chorus:
    Val-dary,Val-dera,
    Val-dary,
    Val-dera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
    Val-dary,Val-dera.
    I’m never coming back.

I love to wander by the stream
    That dances in the sun,
So joyously it calls to me,
    “Come! Join my campus song!”

    Yes, I’m confused.

Yeah. I really blame the Joooos for the fact Arab kids are dying in greater numbers than Israeli kids.

Muslims are proud of saying some variant of the words of a 7th-century Muslim commander who threatened his enemies with the prospect of “an army of men that love death as you love life. “Hassan Nasrallah of Hezbollah said in a 2004, “The Jews love life, so that is what we shall take away from them. We are going to win, because they love life and we love death.” More recently Nidal Malik Hasan used that in the PowerPoint presentation he briefed to his fellow Army doctors on the subject of Islam; one of his bullet points read: “We love death more than you love life!”

Golda Meir said in 1947,”Peace will come when the Arabs love their children more than they hate us.” That day will never come. The Hamasholes have loved death in all it’s forms, including that of their children and especially their women (honor killings, anyone?), since the 7th-century. Some things never change.

Somebody needs to tell the SJP that the Arabs in Gaza are getting justice. I hope Israel doesn’t
    stop before they deliver enough.

  21. Moshe Feiglin, the only libertarian in the Knesset, has published his plan for what to do about Gaza. Here’s a version from mid-July, and here’s his letter to Netanyahu from a few days ago, after Netanyahu’s stupid acceptance of a ceasefire led to the attack in which Hadar Goldin was taken.

As anyone can see, what he writes is simply common sense, and any normal person would be astonished that anyone could object to it. But we live in a world where it has been immediately denounced as “genocide”, and people are howling for him to be arrested immediately for writing this. Well, if this is what you call “genocide”, then there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just a word, after all, like “racism”, and it doesn’t have the power to turn right into wrong merely by being applied to it.

  24. In fact, for a clear-headed view of what’s wrong with Israel and how it can be fixed, Moshe Feiglin’s writing is a good place to start.

Egyptian Muslims massacre Copts, rape Coptic girls, burn Copts’ homes, and in general try to drive them out of the country. ISIS has driven Christians out of large areas of Iraq, just as Muslims have driven Jews out nearly all of the ME. And Fatah announces any future Palestinian state will similarly be Judenrein.

Not a peep about this real, ongoing genocide. Yet they’re screaming about what isn’t in any sense of the word genocide. Or rather, wouldn’t be genocide in any sense of the word, since it hasn’t even happened yet. I would say his double standard is just rank Jooo hatred, since that’s how it always looked to me in the past.

But considering the thundering silence about the actual massacre of Christians throughout the ME, I have to say the double standard is due to more than just that. The left is simply choosing sides. And not because Israel is oppressing or occupying anyone. Bu for he sae reason hey used o be so pro-Soviet. They’re kindred spirits, the left and the Islamofascists, since they both hate Western civilization and love totalitarianism.

When Iran calls the US the Great Satan, and Israel the Little Satan, the Che t-shirt wearing left nods along in agreement.

    http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/05/ahmadinejad_can_speak_on_a_us.html

Ahmadinejad Can Speak on a US Campus, But Netanyahu Cannot

Imagine it’s 1940, and picture Adolf Hitler speaking at a US university, receiving a polite reception, while Winston Churchill is barred from speaking because his safety cannot be guaranteed.

It’s unthinkable, yet the very same pro-fascist dynamic is a reality in 21st Century America.

…Protestors at Berkeley, the campus once synonymous with the term “free speech,” forced the cancellation of Netanyahu’s speech there, as well as two subsequent speeches, in November 2000. The Jewish Bulletin of Northern California reported:

Hundreds of protesters shouting “Support the Palestinians, choose a side” and “No free speech for war criminals” blocked the gate leading to the Berkeley Community Theatre Tuesday evening, forcing the cancellation of a scheduled speech by former Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

…Waving banners reading “Zionism=Nazism” and “End U.S. aid to Israel,”

But then, neither can conservatives or even just pro-Americans speak on a college campus. I doubt atheist, feminist Ayaan Hirsi Ali and I agree on a lot, but she’s pro-American (and pro-Israel) and she’s anti-Islam.

And didn’t Brandeis University cancel her commencement address/honorary degree invitation last April in a New York second for those unpardonable sins?

  26. The fact that the 4 leading liberal political figureheads of 20th-century America, starting with Woodrow Wilson, extending to Franklin D Roosevelt, to his successor Harry S Truman and, finally, to Bill Clinton could be so surprisingly, shockingly, disgustingly racist/bigoted behind closed doors — in tandem with surveys that indicate people of the left are less likely than people of the right to be generous in donating their time and money (and even blood) — lead me to believe there’s something truly defective about such people due to a lack of both self-awareness and basic common sense.

IOW, I believe more than ever before that a paucity of down-to-earth biases (or, again, common sense) apparently somehow corrodes the decency of humans, making them particularly vulnerable to doing, thinking or saying really dumb things. Consequently, people of the left feeling emotionally blubbery towards reactionaries of the Islamic faith while, in turn, snubbing someone even if he or she is closer to them ideologically, such as Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

  27. Nixon was also quite racist in private, so it’s not just Democrats.

PS: You forgot JFK, who was also racist.

Yes, I saw that picture, and it does. I think more relevant is the fact four boys were killed playing on Gaza beach while Hamas was shooting at Israel, and Israel was shooting back.

I learned a a really young age not to play in the middle of the street. But playing in the middle of a shooting war? I’ve never been stupid enough to just do that by accident.

Either Hamas was using them as human shields, or somebody just wanted them to be “martyrs.”

I only say “more relevant” because while I don’t doubt the authenticity of the photo you’ll never see it in a major news outlet because they and the rest of the left will claim it’s a fake if they don’t outright insist it’s Israeli propaganda or something.

On the other hand no one is denying those boys got killed on Gaza beach. And somebody had to put them there. It’s not Israeli’s fault the Gazans are deliberately using kids as (and indoctrinating them to be) targets.
