Colorado Seeks to Ban Popular Shotguns
A popular hunting shotgun could be banned under one of the bills moving through the state Capitol.
A pump or semi-automatic shotgun is the gun most hunters in Colorado use. It’s a gun state Sen. Greg Brophy, R-Wray, says could be banned under a bill that’s already passed the House and Gov. John Hickenlooper says he’ll sign.
“They’re coming after the standard shotgun,” Brophy told CBS4 Political Specialist Shaun Boyd.
How can you fire it through your front door if it’s banned??

But Biden uses his granddad’s double-barreled “Elmer Fudd” brand shotgun. These new-fangled pump shotguns are only useful for shooting up theaters and schools.

But really, they don’t want to take your guns. They respect the 2nd Amendment. Really.

Besides, it takes a 10 gauge to put a hole through heavy doors.

I am waiting for someone to trot out the “not useful for militia” agrument (as per Miller), never mind that undermines the whole “assault weapon” argument.

the shotgun is banned UNLESS it’s used in
a.) a hollywood film or television show
b.) by a prominent cable news propaganda slut
and/or
c.) by a piggy piggy government worker whore

How they gonna “shotgun” those intoxicating hits of stupifaction there in Colorado?

These bills probably were written by Bloomberg’s MAIG and are incoherently drafted.

What was the reason the leftweenies were calling for the boycotting of Arizona? The lack of Martin Luther King holiday and something more recent that escapes me? Oh, being cruel to illegal aliens. So why don’t the lovers of the Constitution in general or those supporting 2nd Amendment Rights boycott Colorado? One might choose not to spend any money vacationing there. Or buying anything specifically emanating from there, such as Coors Beer, I think. Not sure of that example since they stopped being distributed to only 12 western states quite some time ago. How does that work anyway? Lots of Obama media whores doing poorly in ratings but their talking heads still part of the 1%, such as Choom sodomizee Chrissie Matthews and Mooch cunnilinguist Rachel Maddow. Koch brothers constantly being denigrated. You’d think some conservative billionaire type would fight back by buying a media conglomerate. As for gun control, seems to me the left is doing well by buying up billions of rounds of ammo for scum like DHS. And making the prices higher or inventory scarce. Yeah, I know they want to seize our guns. So when is the next Ruby Ridge or Waco? And how many shithead police forces are ok with Holder and Obama?

gun banners are really jumping at the propaganda opportunity provided by Sandy Hook. In my state of Washington our gun banners reintroduced a bill that would eliminate the 4th Amendment for gun owners. Real protectors of civil rights.
Given their unseemly eagerness to capitalize on an atrocity, one can understand why progressives would approve of the suspension of a young man who prevented a school shooting. After all, without lots of dead bodies as propaganda, people might actually question the motives of these leftists.

even with a gun ban, the kids in the piggy piggy union whore public schools will still be able to chew pop tarts into a gun-like form Mr. JD
if they’re willing to accept the consequences anyway
so, that’s heartening

You don’t even need an extension to get 8 rounds of 1.25″ shotgun shells into most magazines — the same length as 4 2.5″ shells.

Other bills in Colorado legislature right now are just as stupidly drafted. The ban on private transfers of firearms (deceptively titled “Universal Background Checks”) criminalizes even loaning someone a firearm, with very narrow exceptions. Exceptions so narrow, that the hunting exception for example requires continuous possession only where hunting is legal. So if a person borrowed a firearm to go hunting from you, but took it from you at your house in town, it would be crime. Since your house being in city limits, wasn’t a place where hunting is legal. Likewise, if that person who had borrowed your firearm walked from one hunting field to another, through a section of land forbidden to hunting, it would be a crime under the bill.
The current draft of the magazine ban in Colorado is utterly unenforceable as written, as its impossible to prove that a banned magazine wasn’t owned prior to the proposed bill’s effective date.
The Colorado Democrats don’t care, the confusion and incoherence isn’t an accident.

JD, the Democrats have declared war on the gun owning public. They’ve decided that they hate us (not new) but that they don’t have to appease us. Somehow 2012 gave Democrats the idea that they are immune to retribution at the ballot box.

Evidently gun control is dead in Minnesotastan. The State Senate does not intend to bring House bills to the floor.

First they banned Assault Weapons, but just shoot Skeet, so that didn’t effect me.
Then they banned high-capacity magazines, but my skeet gun is an over-under and only holds two shells, so I wasn’t worried.
Then they banned semi-automatic pistols, but I’d given Grandad’s 1911 to a gun-museum already, so I really didn’t lose anything.
Finally, they said there were too many people shooting through their doors with shotguns, and that all the shotguns had to be turned in.
What difference did it make, all the trap/skeet ranges had been closed, and hunting had been banned; so I turned it in, and returned to my cell.

Comment by Alasdair (a28b33) — 3/4/2013 @ 2:16 am
Well, we have never seen what happens when shotguns are available to a public that is allowed to use marijuana.
“Hey, what does this thing do?”
This is a good argument for federalism. Let states decide if they want to keep guns legal or legalize pot.
Comment by MD in Philly (3d3f72) — 3/4/2013 @ 4:51 am
So, they legalized an illegal drug, and are trying to criminalize an enumerated Constitutional Right.
Comment by JD (b63a52) — 3/4/2013 @ 4:59 am
JD, I’m just thinking that the states that legalize pot will then just keep to themselves and leave the rest of us alone. I admit, not a perfect solution, but I was being more tongue-in-cheek than serious.
