CNN Talking Heads Swoon Over Cop Killer
This video is a perfect example of why many think our society is collapsing.
Dorner is like a superhero! It’s like watching Django Unchained! It’s like a Denzel Washington movie! It’s exciting to watch!
But my personal favorite is probably:
“Take the murderous rampage out of it. Would he have had a point?”
Ding!
509th Bob (4ae072) — 2/14/2013 @ 5:48 amDingbats on parade, informing our elites of the proper politically correct meme. How disgusting.
509th Bob (4ae072) — 2/14/2013 @ 5:50 amThe question should be how was such a deranged nutball allowed to be a cop and a sailor in the first place. Instead these fools indulge insanity rather than asking what controls LAPD and the military have to stop maniacs like this POS from joining their ranks.
Bugg (ba4ca9) — 2/14/2013 @ 6:12 amRecall, the consent decree instituted by Tom Perez, on the LAPD, some years ago, for that answer.
narciso (3fec35) — 2/14/2013 @ 6:15 amOther than that Mrs. Lincoln, did you enjoy the play?
dfbaskwill (ca54bb) — 2/14/2013 @ 6:21 amAt least we are spared the atrocity that would be a trial of Mr. Dorner, like that of Army Major Hassan…Oh, wait, the tough on guns Obama Administration hasn’t bothered to actually put this workplace violence animal on trial despite having of over 3 years to do so. Which is the core problem; laws are only much good if you really enforce them. Otherwise Obama’s hometown would be heavn on earth instead of Murder City.

None.

And Bill Ayers’ friend in the WH will reiterate that point.

narciso (3fec35) — 2/14/2013 @ 6:52 am“Take the murderous rampage out of it. Would he have had a point?”
So can we now openly admire Hitler’s good points? I mean, really, take Hitler’s murderous rampages out of it, and he was a such a nice, dog loving, vegetarian political philosopher, nicht wahr?
Fred Z (80a49d) — 2/14/2013 @ 6:54 amI’m reminded of The Bridges At Toko Ri. And not in a good way.
Where do we find such men?
Steve57 (60a887) — 2/14/2013 @ 6:57 amIs that a racist slam at our dog eating Preezy?
It’s a white eurocentric presumption to assume “dog loving” equates to virtue.
Besides it completely invalidates the crispy goodness of the meat of the one animal you’re likely to have on hand in any crisis situation.
Or on any occasion, really. It’s not just for breakfast.
Steve57 (60a887) — 2/14/2013 @ 7:08 amLiberalism is an induced mental disease and the proof is in your face, on TV every day, delivered to your home in High Definition. All you need is the same independent power of observation the little boy displayed when the King showed off his fancy new clothes.
ropelight (5cc6b1) — 2/14/2013 @ 7:09 amNope, even if his complaint had some basis in fact, regarding hotel incident, or abstract “fact” of suspected LAPD wrongness and incompetence.
Sacred honor only compelled him to tell the truth when the truth could be used as a weapon.
Not when he was interviewed about use of force on the scene. Not when he filed his report. Not behind the scenes to anyone he trusted.
In the light most favorable to himself he saved it up for negating criticism of himself and punishing the person he held responsible.
You can’t trust a cop like that on the force. He won’t tell the truth for the sake of the truth or because rules matter or people matter – but because HE matters and you better not cross him.
They were right to kick him out, even if it wasn’t really clear to them that he was unbalanced and pathologically narcissistic.
He was a probationary period officer who had never done really well and always an irritation because of his manner of dealing with others and rules.
SarahW (b0e533) — 2/14/2013 @ 7:11 amIf you take the “murderous rampage out of it,” as in “ignore,” you’ve got Chris “Tingles” Matthews college wardrobe.

This
JD (516dcc) — 2/14/2013 @ 7:32 amDRJ, one of the reasons I left Kali is that there are too many entitlement-mentality leftists who still think that Prop 13 is screwing people who deserve the money more than the person who made it. It was publicly expressed in terms like:
It was meant as a threat then, and I don’t doubt you can still get a rag in Kali to print it now.
I didn’t look at my move to Tejas from Kali as running away. They will follow. I was just establishing a more defensible position.
Steve57 (60a887) — 2/14/2013 @ 7:32 amI occasionally (just occasionally) will pause and wonder if I lay it on too thick about the idiocy and insanity of folks of the left–of pampered liberals like those at CNN. But then they’ll do or say something that not only justifies my disdain and cynicism towards them, but they’ll do or say something that, if anything, overwhelms the most negative classical stereotypes associated with them.
But I could somewhat tolerate the crud they dish out if they at least — at least — didn’t fall for the notion that their compassion, humaneness and generosity are so wonderful, so intact, so much higher than that of their political opposites.
Mark (b40cf0) — 2/14/2013 @ 7:40 amThe question should be how was such a deranged nutball allowed to be a cop and a sailor in the first place.
See: History of Nidal Hasan and the US military.
Mark (b40cf0) — 2/14/2013 @ 7:43 amIf all Attorney General Eric Holder is charging Major Nidal Hasan with is workplace violence, then Chris Dorner would have likely only been held responsible for a series of acts of civil disobedience.
ropelight (5cc6b1) — 2/14/2013 @ 8:01 amShort answer is we get saddled with them.
Insisting upon standards would be racist.
As in me: “Hey, this guy’s a nutjob.”
Response: “racist.”
To the Navy’s credit this guy got kicked out of every decent community. But still, I have to ask, what was he doing there in the first place? And the only answer I can come up with is “meeting a recruiter’s quota.”
Steve57 (60a887) — 2/14/2013 @ 8:20 amWhile they claim that the Right is violent, (projection) the reality is that it is the Left who inspire and admire violence. Fortunately the scum we have are without the fortitude to deliver it – except via their schizophrenic s.
SPQR (675032) — 2/14/2013 @ 8:39 amNext time someone lefty talking head asks if Christopher Dorner had a point, the best response might be, “I don’t know. Did Jared Loughner have a point? Should we ask Congresswoman Giffords about that?”

Just heard on the radio that Dorner’s mother (and maybe father?) have issued a statement. I was pleased to hear that they are very quick to express sorrow for what he has done, and it doesn’t sound like they are placing much credence in his claims of racism.
JVW (4826a9) — 2/14/2013 @ 10:06 am“Take the murderous rampage out of it. Would he have had a point?”

It is good that despite being a cop killer and a daughter- and- fiance- revenge killer, and a deputy killer he did not harm the cabin couple or the guy with his dalmation when it would have been easy for him to do so. It could’ve been much worse and gone on much much longer if he had not chosen to just tie up the couple (who eventually got free and alerted police to his whereabouts). I hope Dotner’s parents can take some minor solace in those large important choices of his that showed some degree of humanity and compassion near the very end of his rampage.

Eff Dorner. If you want to talk about police misconduct in connection with Dorner, the LAPD gave them a few things to talk about during the manhunt, specifically, will there be any charges against any of the officers who were involved in the two pick-up truck shootings?

Taking the murderous rampage out of it, it would be irresponsible to let the Dorner crisis go to waste and not open a conversation on police brutality and corruption even though there is no credible evidence police corruption and brutality played a role in Dorner’s dismissal from the LAPD and such a conversation would be an insult to the victims of Dorner’s murderous rampage and appear to be a defense of such murderous rampage in spite of fervent denials otherwise.

But hold up your hands, how many of you brain shot your last deer or elk?
Look, I’d like to think I’m such a dead-eye I can put one between the eyes of someone bobbing and weaving between the trees on the slopes of Big Bear (although I’d eat my laptop if I couldn’t put the sneak on the guy and get within 100 yards, as any hog in my freezer will tell you).
In all likelihood I’d just take the percentage shot to the chest.
Steve57 (60a887) — 2/15/2013 @ 2:25 pmHey, Steve, you know what they call someone who goes against the percentages in a gunfight?
DEAD!

EPWJ (1cedce) — 2/15/2013 @ 2:52 pmBreivik, wanted to prove that Moslem extremists murder innocents, so he went about replicating the deeds.
narciso (3fec35) — 2/15/2013 @ 2:56 pmThe point is, that both Breivik and Dorner are/were psychopaths, the former particularly so as he meticulously planned a mass-murder of innocents who had done him no harm, in an environment that he knew offered him the least resistance.
askeptic (b8ab92) — 2/15/2013 @ 2:58 pmSteve, it wasn’t a deer or an elk, but I hit a flying scobie duck in the noggin with a BB pistol from 30 feet. Knocked ’em silly, he took about 20 minutes to shake it off and be on his way.
If I don’t keep ’em on the move the cheeky devils homestead the birdbath.

Which, as your story attests, isn’t always lethal.
Besides, you’re supposed to point a shotgun. Not aim it. And was wishing to discuss aimed shots.
Steve57 (60a887) — 2/15/2013 @ 3:33 pmAimed shots. You know. The kind they don’t teach at the police academy.

EPWJ (1cedce) — 2/15/2013 @ 5:40 pmI have very little listening skills when people say they were just “insert blank here” after they had committed some worldwide atrocity.
Especially in the almost justificationism that some comments could be contrued as when saying of this guy was upset so he killed children.
EPWJ (1cedce) — 2/15/2013 @ 5:43 pmthe parallel is both had something to say, but they wrote it in blood, ironically, Breivik’s politics are all that matter, whereas Dorner’s is just beside the point,
narciso (3fec35) — 2/15/2013 @ 5:49 pmSteve, it was a BB pistol, a compressed air powered semi-auto Beretta M9 replica. Believe me, no scobie duck hit in the head with any shotgun at 30 feet, no matter what gauge, is going to survive the encounter.
I learned all about that sort of thing in my wasted youth hanging out with a 30″ full choke 12 gauge Ithaca pump loaded with #4s and trying to keep warm and stay vigilant while sitting on hard wooden benches in deep water duck blinds on the rivers and in the marshes of Tidewater Virginia just north of the Carolina line with over 100 decoys out in weather so wet, cold, and blustery it was blowin’ the oysters off the rocks.
And, although those days are long ago and far behind me now, it’s just not something I could forget about even if I wanted to.
ropelight (1f1b9d) — 2/15/2013 @ 6:00 pmWhy would you want to forget about that? It sounds awesome.
JD (805f82) — 2/15/2013 @ 6:29 pmropelight, it sounds like one hell of a shot. I never made anything like it.
Steve57 (60a887) — 2/15/2013 @ 7:09 pmSteve, it was a lucky shot, and it scared the dickins out of me because I thought I’d killed the damn thing and would have to eat it.
JD, it was awesome, but after picking up the decoys from icy cold water and wrapping up the anchor lines my hands would be so cold and stiff I couldn’t push the button on the door handle of a ’54 Ford to get inside and turn on the heater.
Sometimes my lips would get so chapped I’d have to use oil from the dipstick if I couldn’t find a tube of Chapstick.
There’s lots more, I could go on and on, but then I’d have to take a bunch of guff again about things that fall outside the experience of most guys, like bribing old timers with packs of red Pell Mells to sit in the sun on screened-in front porches and tell tall tales about what it was like in the old days, or like finding the names and initials of famous men carved into the duck blind’s weathered planks, or of enjoying great meals and wild nights in the comfort of a robber baron’s island hunting lodge while storm winds raged and blew up breaking waves on the shallow bays and made any attempted crossing in a small open duck boat a life and death proposition.
It’s just too much for most guys to credit without some sort of proof and I don’t have any, other than the say so of the few guys still around who were there too, and they don’t comment on blogs as far as I know.
ropelight (1f1b9d) — 2/15/2013 @ 7:24 pmI was thinking it was just some lucky shot from your standard smoothbore bb gun.
Steve57 (60a887) — 2/15/2013 @ 7:29 pmropelight, I think the one thing we all have in common is that we’ve done something no one will believe without pics.
Steve57 (60a887) — 2/15/2013 @ 7:32 pmWhat’s a scobie duck? Some kind of coot? It must be an east coast thing.

happyfeet (acd614) — 2/15/2013 @ 7:52 pmSteve, the scobie duck or Moscovy duck is the Cairina Moschata Domestica. They’re large and ugly, males go about 15 pounds and females about half that. They have black shiny body feathers with varying amounts of white on the head and neck.
From Wikipedia: The domestic subspecies is commonly known in Spanish as the pato criollo (“creole duck”). They have been bred since pre-Columbian times by Native Americans and are heavier and less able to fly long distances than the wild subspecies. Their plumage color are also more variable. Other names for the domestic subspecies in Spanish are pato casero (“backyard duck”) and pato mudo (“mute duck”).

Non sequitur regarding “the point”. Also, I think it’s more of a fantasy on your part about any children being killed in that attack.
j curtis (631f3e) — 2/15/2013 @ 11:18 pmComment by EPWJ (1cedce) — 2/15/2013 @ 2:52 pm
By the way, children are victims of many terrorist attacks and most terrorist attacks have a point. Do you have to agree with the motives of an attack before you could agree that the attack had a “point”? 0/11 had a point. Unibomber had a point. Breivik had a point. Aurora, New Town and this guy in California didn’t have much of a point that I can see.
j curtis (631f3e) — 2/15/2013 @ 11:33 pmnot really, not at all, its just nasty murder.
Saying someone had a point is leading down a road to justifiction or admiration.
The guy went into a childrens camp and murdered them them, including his own relatives.
No, both were narc’s and sought publicity and these very discussions that people are having – admirationism, justification, etc.
Just so sad to see it here
EPWJ (1cedce) — 2/16/2013 @ 12:27 amropelight, thanks for the explanation. I’ve been a duck hunter going on half a century now and I’ve never heard that colloquialism.
I’m certain it’s my loss we never shared a blind or stretch of trout stream.
