11. Professor John Goodlad, an admirer, has said that if people understood Obama’s education vision they would be far more upset about that than over Obamacare.

Using kids as props creates the illusion that all he does is for their benefit. Instead of the truth that everything he is pushing will devastate this country, prosperity, and especially student’s mental and emotional integrity.

I don't know how I missed this. Of course it's true.

The left delights in using children as human shields. Recall the Occupy! crowd putting women with toddlers in strollers at the head of the mob attempting to blockade a door at a site hosting a conservative function, and when the police reacted to the mob violence they'd scream "The children! You're hurting the children!

But this is far more insidious, and of course this indoctrination is going on. And it will only get worse as Obama executes his Common Core national curriculum. Of course, Goodlad is too generous when he calls this "Obama's vision." He's just not that bright and, as we've seen by his other "visions" consisting of warmed-over 1930s to 1960s pabulum, he's not at all an original thinker. Obama "didn't build that" curriculum. His buddy Bill Ayers did.

The Ed Schools’ Latest—and Worst—Humbug

Of course these kids didn't just come up with the idea of writing Obama to ask for gun control. No eight y.o. would unless indoctrinated. Some by their parents, sure. But the systematic indoctrination is taking place in the public schools. Because that's all the NEA union drones are good for (Obama doesn't just want to use your tax dollars to "put more teachers in schools" to launder your tax dollars into democratic campaign funds, you know).

You can get a judge to order El Commandante Obama's mural to be covered up when the elementary school is used as a polling place. Every other day the kids have to absorb the lessons of the shrine.

15. He’s cynically using children to undermine 2nd Amendment rights while his borrowing and profligate spending is condemning them to a future of hopeless indebtedness.

It's not just him. He has a lot of help from his union toadies:

How Many Kids Had a Choice in Writing Letters Asking Obama to Ban Guns?

Via Instapundit, who correctly calls this political child abuse.

Expect to see more of this Soviet-style exploitation of children coming to a neighborhood near you.

Using kids as props creates the illusion that all he does is for their benefit.

What goes unseen are the millions of youth who are avid hunters and members of competitive shooting sports programs. My children and their friends have been involved in shooting sports since they were very young. This year marks 15 years that we've been involved in competitive shooting sports. One daughter was nationally ranked in her discipline at the age of 12. Another son is a state ranked marksman in 4 disciplines. My youngest will be competing for $10k in scholarships in a couple of weeks. All of my kids spend time during the winter hunting to harvest game for our freezer.

All of my kids and their friends are well versed in the safe handling, maintenance and safe use of firearms, often more safe and contentious than the law enforcement officers who share their practice ranges.

And yet, because of the biased media attacks, myself and other parents are actively working to keep our kids out of the spotlight in this debate, even though they are the best response to Obama's use of children as props. Our kids are able to speak in an informed manner about the 2nd Amendment and other constitutional rights that these children lack the education and upbringing to understand. Not only do are we protecting our children from the media, but we are also concerned about school district profiling programs that can make them the targets of campus security and administrators.

In short..... as a non-exploitative parent, I am shielding our best arguments from a media that would treat them as raw meat to destroy with their ill informed and often completely false editorial biases.

I like to think Robin that what happens when the students' and families' values are savaged, as they are today in the new curriculum, parents will home school.

Why does the Left put up with this? Because they hunger for the whip. To be told what to do.

It's not that they hate authority. They just hate their fathers. So long as there is a D with the name, they will goose step as ordered

#13, htom is on-target, ridiculing Obama is the best way to expose his destructive anti-American agenda and to highlight his monumental hypocrisy.

He's cynically using children to undermine 2nd Amendment rights while his borrowing and profligate spending is condemning them to a future of hopeless indebtedness.
