Union Thugs Assault Steven Crowder in Michigan; Lefties Blame the Victim

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 6:45 pm

A follow-up to JD’s post from this morning.

The screenshot actually says it all.

Let me translate this for you.

Ha! Steven Crowder says he was assaulted! That’s a laugh! Especially when he is provoking “peaceful union people” by talking to them!

Video emerges of assault.

Um. Er.

. . . .

HEAVILY EDITED!!!!!!!1!!1!!

Talk about adding insult to injury.

  9. It could never happen, but you know what I wish? I wish that people who make accusations that turn out to be untrue could be held liable for those statements. Like the “heavily edited” dude. He or she has utterly no evidence that is the case, but the accusation presumes dishonesty on the part of Crowder. It would be great if the accuser could be held legally responsible for his or her words.

Sort of like Harry Reid and his repeated statements that Romney paid no taxes at all for ten years.

Yeah, yeah, I know that the game is rigged. But I can still dream.

  11. The latest, fun, developments:

On Fox TV, Crowder has issued an ultimatum to his attacker: (1) go to jail, or (2) let Crowder take the reward money donated by Instapundit and the other donors (and maybe add some of his own money), and give it to the union of the guy’s choice, provided he agrees to meet Crowder in the ring, one on one, like a man!

The left sure suppresses a lot of free-speech suppression and engages in a lot of physical violence to demonstrate its altruism.

But I suppose it’s very provacative when they people you’re ripping off for redistributive purposes just don’t shut up and hand their wallets over. Like those ***holes who own Papa John’s Pizza and Olive Garden.

    Haters, all of them.

Fine, if nobody’s claimed it yet then I will. It would be a pity to see it go to waste…

Seriously, this sort of thing has never happened at a TEA Party rally or any other right-wing demo. I also wonder what the place looked like after this mob went home; I’ll bet anything you like that it didn’t look like a TEA Party demo had been held there.

  22. Milhouse is right. Consider the newsstooges that CNN and MSNBC sent to TEA Party rallies, always looking for the leftist infiltrator with the KKK hood to interview. A lot of these clowns got a talking to, but never anything like this.

How do I know? Because if it happened we would have seen it for a week on every network. This we won’t see quite so much and certainly not so critically.

  23. Why won’t you release the unedited tape showing how you instigated the entire incident and the only reason you were there was to provoke this and you kicked a beehive and are now whining you got stung and heavily edited video what aren’t they showing you ?!?!?!?!?!

    Comment by JD (318f81) — 12/11/2012 @ 9:02 pm

  24. I have a simple question for the lefty trolls and others:

    What do you want?

This is not a snarky or leading question. You have a popular President, the Senate, the major media, polls that indicate that you have all you have ever wanted and a wobbly U.S. House of Representatives.

The leaders of the right have as much said that you will win the next Presidential election and you will probably win the next off-year election.

Americans have decided that we are a center-left nation. I can accept that.

So, why are you all still so angry?

The President has already decided that he can circumvent established laws and precedent by fiat. He will soon be able to pack the Supreme Court with his fellow travelers.

What is it, specifically, that you want now? A single party system? The destruction of capitalism? Some sort of fascist system that knows what is best for industry and the people?

Or is it some sort of quasi-libertarian government that allows you to smoke pot, get medical check-ups and abortions on the government dime while confiscating guns?

I really am unclear, because, you know, tax the rich isn’t really much of a credo,

    Comment by Ag80 (b2c81f) — 12/11/2012 @ 9:18 pm

  26. You have a popular President, the Senate, the major media, polls that indicate that you have all you have ever wanted and a wobbly U.S. House of Representatives.

Don’t overlook the fact that the left also controls the vast majority of the primary and secondary education establishments, nearly all of the higher education establishment, and the vast majority of the entertainment establishment as well. As such, they have a nearly unchallenged hold on the minds of the impressionable youth of this country and the world.

And the answer to the question as to what they want, I think it is simply the chance to impose their value system on the entire world without even so much as a peep of dissent. This is not a people who is confident in their ability to win hearts and minds through the results of their policies, so they have to do everything they can to stifle dissent.

    Comment by JVW (4826a9) — 12/11/2012 @ 9:33 pm

  27. JVW:

I can agree with that, but I still would like an answer. When you have almost all you want and you finally get that last bit, as you will, what is the final outcome?

What is the bold, new world we will live in? Again, no snark.

I would simply ask for details.

    Comment by Ag80 (b2c81f) — 12/11/2012 @ 9:40 pm

  28. It’s true that this wouldn’t have happened at a TEA party. Those folks wouldn’t have harmed a socialist or union sympathizer. They probably would have defended the right to disagree, even.

Yet this country has chosen the ideology of the thugs. The ‘punch back twice as hard’ guys. Because they are the ones doling out ‘free’ stuff.

    Let it burn.

    Comment by Dustin (73fead) — 12/11/2012 @ 9:50 pm

  29. Ag80 @ 25,

    Exactly.

It stands to reason that when a people fighting for all the things you listed get those items handed to theming a silver platter, they would be rejoicing, at the very least. It also would not be a leap to assume these same people would even be happy as a result.

So why aren’t they? Why is their anger and bitterness the common thread that easily outs them – whether it’s the P. Tillmans here, or those at Patterico’s linked site?

    Comment by Dana (292dcf) — 12/11/2012 @ 9:59 pm

  30. The answer to Ag80′s hypothetical question won’t be answered by the perpetually aggrieved because they lack awareness.

Their view forces them to always be upset that the government isn’t saving the day on the next big issue. Adopt every plank of the democrat party’s platform and they do not become status quo conservative. They just adopt a completely full set of issues that Must Be Fixed By The Government.

Eventually some of these guys realize it’s not the world that needs to change if they want to stop being so miserable. Unfortunately, things have gone too far. There are too many entrenched moochers and there is too much debt. It’s pretty scary for well grounded and personally responsible types, and unfathomable for the whining moocher class.

  39. Tillman,

You always offer such an entertaining low-brow water cooler analysis.

Here we’re talking about a specific incident of violence perpetrated by left wing union thugs that is on videotape for all to see, and your reaction is not to condemn your fellow Fred Flintstone union blockhead, but rather your knee-jerk reaction is to make a moral equivalence about it, saying that nobody is an angel.

Well, Steven Crowder is one of the nicest dudes you could meet, but even so, whether he’s an angel or he isn’t does not give a license to a chubby middle-aged Pabst Blue Ribbon-drinking yahoo who works on an assembly line to throw a sucker punch at the head of Steven Crowder.
In the civilized world, we refer to that as “assault.”

On the other hand, we do realize that for an old Alinskyite such as yourself, this type of union thug intimidation and violence is pornographic in its excitement value for your fluttering little heart.
