Ryder Cup Open Thread

2-2 after alternating shot.

Mickelson/Bradley was a great pairing this morning, and a hot start this afternoon.

Furyk/Snedeker had a remarkable comeback only to fall short on 18 to Rory/McDowell.

Tiger and Stricker struggled this morning, but should be 2 up through 2.

Duffner and Zack Johnson played solid to win their point.

Webb and Bubba or off to a blistering start too.

I love love love the Ryder Cup.

This one will go down to the wire. I predict a narrow Team USA victory.

  2. What a fun day of golf. Webb and Bubba are tearing up the course, about to go 6 up through 8.

  3. There’s a new podcast by the National Review’s Jonah Goldberg, Commentary and the New York Post’s John Podhortez and Ricochet’s Rob Long — and they are holding a contest for a name for it:

  4. I like team U.S.A. to win by 3 or more points. But I did take the Patriots last week.
I wish the rulers of the Ryder Cup would play courses that offer a variety of ways in which to play the hole.
Tree lined target golf is slow and boring. Even when played in the British Isles they fail to play some of the finest links courses on earth.

  5. Colsaerts with a day never to be forgotten.

I intensely dislike Tiger, but I have to give it to him for his charge at the end. I thought it was in on 18.

  6. 5-Same for Keegan.
As a competitor, only a few have what Tiger has.

  7. Colsaerts was spectacular. Tiger played like Tiger to keep them in right down to the wire.

  9. This has been sensational for Team USA. Tiger and Strick have just about turned theirs around. Could be a total rout.

    I cannot stand Johnny Miller.

  10. Check out this photo of GWB and Michael Jordan watching a tee-off together at the Ryder cup today. The look on both their faces is rather interesting.

  11. Their expressions are interesting, and so is their body language. They don’t seem comfortable with each other.

  13. Johnny Miler and nbc suck.
Great Play by Phil and Keegan gets them benched in the p.m.
Don’t understand that move. If Phil was pooped, put Keegan with tiger, because Stricker is off his game.
Should be a heavenly sunday for team U.S.A.
George and Mike both look guilty of something.

  14. Down 10-6 on foreign turf:

17.03 Bubba Watson v Luke Donald
17.14 Webb Simpson v Ian Poulter
17.25 Keegan Bradley v Rory McIlroy
17.36 Phil Mickelson v Justin Rose
17.47 Brandt Snedeker v Paul Lawrie
17.58 Dustin Johnson v Nicolas Colsaerts
18.09 Zach Johnson v Graeme McDowell
18.20 Jim Furyk v Sergio Garcia
18.31 Jason Dufner v Peter Hanson
18.42 Matt Kuchar v Lee Westwood
18.53 Steve Stricker v Martin Kaymer
19.04 Tiger Woods v Francesco Molinari

    Not likely.

  15. The U.S.G.A. Senior Amateur is being played this weekend. At Mnt. Ridge C.C. West Caldwell N.J.
One of the best kept secrets in America. Could be Donald Ross at his best with these green placements and contours. It is played as designed by Ross in the 20’s. In my not so humble opinion I would rather play this course than Medinah. I have played both and Medinah is ho hum.

  17. I have been surfing online more than three hours these days, yet I by no means found any attention-grabbing article like yours. It’s beautiful value enough for me. Personally, if all web owners and bloggers made excellent content material as you did, the net might be a lot more helpful than ever before.

  20. Hats off to the Euros, they kicked ass. Some of the U.S. team looked like they are ready for the senior tour.

  21. naturally like your web-site but you have to test the spelling on several of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling problems and I in finding it very bothersome to tell the reality nevertheless I’ll surely come again again.
