$30,000 for Being Pepper Sprayed
Catching up on more old stories I didn’t have to chance to post on during the week: here is one showing Occupiers cha-CHING! cashing in on being pepper-sprayed:
University of California officials have agreed to pay $1 million to settle a lawsuit over a pepper-spraying incident last year that came to symbolize law enforcement aggression against anti-Wall Street protesters, attorneys said on Wednesday.
Video of the confrontation, which showed seated student protesters being pepper-sprayed by campus police at the University of California campus at Davis, was replayed widely on television and the Internet, sparking outrage among faculty and activists.
Under the terms of the settlement filed in court on Wednesday, each of the 21 students and recent graduates from the campus who sued University of California regents over the November 2011 incident will get $30,000 and a personal letter of apology from UC Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi.
The deal also includes $250,000 for plaintiffs’ attorney fees.
I hereby volunteer to be pepper-sprayed for only $29,000.
I will not be undersold!
could anyone who was blocked from entering the bldg by these “occupiers” turn around and sue them? say for ~$30K each? Hey, by blocking the bldg, they would have violated THAT person’s rights, no?

Universities are freaky places where rights get trampled on every day.
The takeaway is you should keep your head down when you are at a university; don’t make gratuitous eye contact…
And for God’s sake don’t give them your money.

I has trying to assist friends that were unarmed and being attacked by thugs armed with chains and clubs. Campus security in their wisdom jumped in the middle of it and targeted the unarmed students.
I got nothing for experiencing that wonderful burning feeling in my eyes other then a threat of expulsion.
