New Leftist Civility – Part 28473638483

Obama supporter Samuel L. Jackson showed his true colors on Monday by tweeting, “Unfair Sh**: GOP spared by Issac [sic]! NOLA prolly F**ed Again! Not understanding God’s plan!”

Actress Ellen Barkin on Sunday debased herself by tweeting: “C’mon #Isaac! Wash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean! #RNC”

  1. Racists

  2. Do these Hollyweird types write their own tweets? Or is what we are hearing from them, the anger of some underpaid, overworked assistant? Let’s face it movie types aren’t the most brilliant people on earth. Some off them are high school dropouts who have spent their entire adult lives reading the words someone else wrote. Why exactly should we assume that anything that goes out under the name, of some celebrity, was actually written by that celebrity?

  3. This is why I Bittorrent movies. Not a fucking dollar more to these assholes.

    EC (dda60e)

  4. I have no doubt that these are tweets from the actual stars. Anytime they don’t have a script, they end up putting their foot in their mouth. Much like President MomJeans.

  8. “I have no doubt that these are tweets from the actual stars. Anytime they don’t have a script, they end up putting their foot in their mouth. Much like President MomJeans.”

But sending a Tweet, means possessing the ability to use some type of electronic device. Normally their stupidity is displayed when they open their mouths without a script in front of them. We should also never forget that they don’t have the “governors” that most of us have. They spent their entire lives bearing absolutely no responsibility for what comes out of their mouths. Perhaps they dictate it to an assistant, telling them to “spice” it up. Maybe these Tweets of the stars, are simply some assistant who really, really regrets that they thought being the personal assistant to a celebrity would be a “cool” job. Now they’re trying to make them look as stupid as they actually are, before they quit.

  9. Daley, the Democraps were never civil. The closest they come is when they don’t break your arm in the voting booth.

  10. Kind of funny hearing the atheist version of “God is on OUR side!”

When the Big One hits Hollywood and/or San Francisco this kind of talk will be hateful again.

    Kevin M (bf8ad7)

  11. Samuel L. Jackson strikes me as the sort of guy who is so deluded that he actually thinks he is the bada** gangster Jules from Pulp Fiction, when in reality he is probably is a pretty meek and nerdy theater type.

I always found Ellen Barkin to be a mediocre actress. I suppose that back in the day she had a sexy body and that helped her land roles, but I always thought her face was a bit pinched and looked kind of like a bulldog’s. She just never gave me that “leading lady” vibe.

    JVW (edec8d)

  12. Hypocrites, to be sure. Did Pat Robertson find a reason for this one?

    carlitos (49ef9f)

  13. JVW, same here on Barkin. I just never got it.

    carlitos (49ef9f)

  14. Barkin was married to Ron Perelman, became used to the good life, and after five years of marriage got a mega hefty divorce settlement following a bitter and ugly divorce from him. I think she is not a happy or healthy woman on many levels. She clearly thinks she is still influential and considers herself a much bigger deal than she really is or ever was. The divorce netted her no less than 30 million and some think it was as high as 60 million. She also sold at auction jewels he had given her as gifts for in the neighborhood of 20 million.

    elissa (202946)

I think an image of a lynched Obama beats that. Never mind threats of insurrection and assassination etc…
    “Restore the Republic” etc.

We may be losing the republic but that loss didn’t begin with the colored guy in the white house. And GWB didn’t delay it he sped it up,

    sleeeepy (b5f718)

  16. Sleeeepy try to keep up. The dog whistles are in a different thread.

    elissa (202946)

  17. Regarding that image, ballon juice asserts but does not provide evidence for a cause-and-effect relationship:

Romney-Wingnut-Luntzian-talking-points inspired this update of the image—now with a noose around a dead Obama’s neck and the words changed to “ROPE”.

The image is disturbing, but it is a predictable result of the campaign Romney and the GOP have decide to run.

Uh, no. A racist jerk made the image. Romney didn’t invent racist jerks.

    carlitos (49ef9f)

  18. Sleepy is fixated on Barcky’s race, yet we are the racists.

    JD (318f81)

  19. Dog whistles, carlitos. Dog whistles.

    JD (318f81)

  20. There were Obama / noose episodes in 2008. I like that the Republican candidate and his team are so effective, he can cause ripples in the space-time continuum. That could help with the economy.

    carlitos (49ef9f)

  21. So Sleeeepy, in your world there is no difference between someone like Samuel L. Jackson — who endorses products, is invited on TV talk shows as a guest, gets to go to A-list events — acting in a really horrible manner and some anonymous nobody schlub posting an offensive picture on a Facebook wall?

Come to think of it, isn’t it odd that lefties are so good at finding all of these crazy images posted by insane people on Facebook? Why, if we didn’t know better, we might think that these images are manufactured by the lefties themselves and then “discovered” and pointed to as a sign of hate among the right. But of course, that kind of thing doesn’t happen, does it? Nobody manufactures evidence in order to make their ideological opponents look bad, right?

    JVW (edec8d)

  22. sleeeeepy #14

    1) To the pure, all things are pure ! I look at that image and see a tastelessly gaudy twisted gold-coloured necklace that is coordinated with the First MomJeans (turning the Presidential neck green) … I see someone who should not borrow his wife’s gaudy necklaces … the commenters at BJ (!) see a lynch picture … which of us is more correct ?

    2) I am glad to learn that you decried the pictures of then-President Bush being hung and/or burned in effigy at least as strongly and sincerely as you decry your own racist interpretation of the BJ image …

    Alasdair (64f66f)

  23. “So Sleeeepy, in your world there is no difference between someone like Samuel L. Jackson — who endorses products, is invited on TV talk shows as a guest, gets to go to A-list events…”

and Pat Buchanan who says ‘White men built this country!” And he’s still got a job on FOX!!
You want more of your crap?

Rush Limbaugh who said “Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?” and that Obama should “take his daughters to the airport and let the TSA grope them” or the Sandra Fluke slut jokes, or Romney’s birther joke? And Pat Robertson!

“And you know Kristi, something happened a long time ago in Haiti and people might not want to talk about it. They were under the heel of the French, uh you know Napoleon the third and whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the Devil. They said we will serve you if you’ll get us free from the French. True Story. And so the Devil said “OK, it’s a deal.” And they kicked the French out. You know, the Haitians revolted and got themselves free. But ever since they have been cursed by one thing after the other, desperately poor. That island is Hispaniola is one island. It’s cut down the middle. On one side is Haiti, on the other side is the Dominican republic. Dominican Republic is prosperous, healthy, full of resorts, etc.. Haiti is in desperate poverty. Same island. Uh, they need to have, and we need to pray for them, a great turning to God and out of this tragedy. I’m optimistic something good may come.”

What an idiot. What a moron. What a buffoon.

    sleeeepy (b5f718)

  24. Sleeeeeeeeeepy sure is getting his hate on today.

    JD (b0764b)

  25. You want more of your crap?

You seem a lot more entertained by this crap than I am. :/

    carlitos (49ef9f)

  26. 1. Pat Buchanan is not a Republican, and hasn’t been for nearly two decades.

    2. FOX News is a business, not a right-wing political organisation. They hire whoever they think will get ratings.

    3. What Buchanan said in this instance is true. White men did build this country. It’s a fact.

    4. Do you deny that composite pictures of wanted criminals do tend to resemble Jesse Jackson?

    5. What’s your problem with Limbaugh saying that 0bama should see his daughters subjected to the same TSA groping that the rest of us have to submit to? I agree. Until those with the power to change things, and their families, are on the receiving end of the TSA’s mercies nothing will change.

    6. Sandra Fluke is a metaphorical slut, but not a literal one. Limbaugh did violence to the language when he called her a literal slut, and he apologised for it.

    7. Romney’s “birther” joke on Friday was perfect. There’s nothing to apologise for or explain away. It was a funny line, perfectly delivered.

    8. Is Robertson’s story true? I don’t believe so, because I’m not a Christian and don’t believe in the Devil. But if there were a Devil I’d have no problem believing it, because it sounds like a good explanation for the facts. Haiti is a hell-hole, and has been for 200 years, despite starting with the same resources as the Dominican Republic.

    Milhouse (407609)

  27. #11, Robertson never gave a reason for Katrina. He suggested a reason for why God didn’t protect New Orleans from the destruction. He didn’t claim to know God’s mind, but it’s a reasonable speculation.

    Milhouse (407609)

  28. Sleeeeepy (however many “e”‘s you want there), your act is so silly and tired. Please don’t think you are the first left-wing troll to come here with your whining that “your side is just as bad!” We’ve heard it here before you started commenting here, and we’ll continue to hear it after you have either left or changed commenter names.

My point stands: Someone as high-profile as Samuel L. Jackson or even Ellen Barkin should be a little more circumspect about wishing havoc and possibly death upon another. I know you want to try and equate that with all the times that some right-winger has said something that strikes you as racist, but we’re on to your silly game. Go hang out with the folks at balloon juice where you can indulge in your little conspiracy theories and scour the internet for fresh outrages posted on the Facebook wall of some guy with 50 friends.

    JVW (edec8d)

  29. Speaking of balloon-juice, does anyone know what happened to it? It used to be so reasonable; does anyone know when it went all Charles-Johnson, and why?

    Milhouse (c39d3f)

  30. @29

Milhouse, I have wondered the same thing about Balloon juice. It was one of my earliest daily reads, but now it is truly unhinged. I haven’t bothered with it for years.

You know its funny, there are a bunch of ex-lefties around, and they’re all sane and reasonable. But when a person goes from right or center to left, they become unhinged.

B Juice guy, and the guy who did a blog with pilots in the name, cant remember exactly, maybe Ace Pilots, he was also big on the dog whistle thing after he turned lefty, saying that to use the term elitist about Obama was racist (like uppity). And there was Ilyka Damen, gone completely around the bend.

    Not to mention David Brock.

    kinlaw (8f4928)

  31. A liberal’s daily scheduler reads like:

    6AM Denounce hate
    10AM Engage in hate
    4PM Denounce racism
    8PM Engage in racism
10PM Sleep so you have energy to be hypocritical again tomorrow

    CrustyB (69f730)

  32. Milhouse I think you must be some sort of agent provocateur sent here by Media Matters.
Can they all be as dumb and racist as you?
Most criminals in this country are white, because most people are white. So no, only in the twisted ironies of your Soros funded scriptwriter[?] does Jesse Jackson resemble the average composite image of wanted criminals. Limbaugh is schmuck but a joker. So are you I hope.
And no white men did not build this country. A lot of people built this country both women and men of many races and quite a few slaves.

    Pat Robertson.

“My point stands: Someone as high-profile as Samuel L. Jackson or even Ellen Barkin…”
as opposed to former white house officials paid to talk politics on “serious” news shows.

    And speaking of slaves:
Coal miners say they were forced to attend Romney event and donate

    sleeeepy (b5f718)

  33. That is only bad for non-union folks.

    JD (b0764b)

  34. “Coal miners say they were forced to attend Romney event and donate”

sleeeepy – Are you upset because unlike government employees who are forced to attend mandatory Democrat campaign events, the miners were not paid?

  35. Methinks the drowsy one is a dog-whistle, and a poorly educated one at that.
But, thinking about it, I don’t recall any dog-whistled ensconced in MENSA.

  36. Listen up people, you do not need to take sleepys link; I have done it for you , because I am a giver.

It is as juvenile a left wing screed as I have read on the net.

    Not really surprised are you?

    kinlaw (8f4928)

  37. sleeeepy – You don’t care if the Democrats illegally politic on the taxpayer dime, and have to pay protestors to show up for your rallies, but if a private employer shuts for a day, OMG, the world is ending.

If it was not for double standards, you would have none.

    daleyrocks (bf33e9)

  38. Most criminals in this country are white, because most people are white.

That would only follow if the proportion of criminals in the black population were equal to that in the white population. That is not the case, and you know it very well.

    Milhouse (21636c)

    A coal miner talking:
“Yes, we were in fact told that the Romney event was mandatory and would be without pay, that the hours spent there would need to be made up my non-salaried employees outside of regular working hours, with the only other option being to take a pay cut for the equivalent time,” the employees told Blomquist. “Yes, letters have gone around with lists of names of employees who have not attended or donated to political events.”

“I realize that many people in this area and elsewhere would love to have my job or my benefits,” one worker explained. “And our bosses do not hesitate in reminding us of this. However, I can not agree with these callers and my supervisors, who are saying that just because you have a good job, that you should have to work any day for free on almost no notice without your consent.”

    sleeeepy (b5f718)

  40. Someone once said:

    Life is not fair!

    AD-Restore the Republic/Obama Sucks! (b8ab92)

  41. sleeeepy – Do you have a point other than on the top of your head?

    daleyrocks (bf33e9)

  42. OBAMA: Let me sort of describe my overall policy. I mean, what I’ve said is that we would put a cap-and-trade system in place that is more – that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else’s out there. I was the first call for a 100 percent auction on the cap-and-trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases was emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted-down caps that are placed — imposed every year.

So, if somebody wants to build a coal power plant, they can. It’s just that, it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted. That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel, and other alternative energy approaches. The only thing that I’ve said, with a respect to coal — I haven’t been some coal booster — what I have said is, that, for us to take coal off the table as a ideological matter, as opposed to saying, if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way, we should pursue it. You know, that I think is the right approach.

    narciso (ee31f1)

  43. Based on his ignorance, I don’t think sleeeepy has ever held a position of responsibility in a for profit business.

    daleyrocks (bf33e9)

  44. However, I can not agree with these callers and my supervisors, who are saying that just because you have a good job, that you should have to work any day for free on almost no notice without your consent.”

So what if he doesn’t agree with it? It’s true regardless. If he wants to keep that good job, he’d better pray that Romney wins.

    Milhouse (21636c)

  45. sleepy, I’m confused…

Coal miners are angry that they had to take a day off to attend an event to support someone who wants their jobs to remain jobs, their business to remain open….

Which implies that they would support someone who wants their jobs to be eliminated, so they won’t have them….

and you support someone who wants their jobs to end as well….

    Just checking…
