Go Heats!
I don’t follow sports at all, yet I would not make this mistake:
Lucky for Obama, I don’t think Florida is a very important state in the presidential election.
And Boston isn’t much of a college town.

His best comment since he congratulated Salt Lake on the Utah Jazzes.

Maybe that’s what the team is called in Austrian.

Or since he called Comiskey Park Conminskey Field, being the true Sox fan he is.

I’m so over him

Because I like to keep up with what’s going on, I listen to a lot of the President’s speeches and interviews.
His speech patterns tend to be measured and precise, because, you know, he wants to be a great orator.
However, he is fond of the syllabant s which, when he does it, comes out as a whistle. I think he unconsciously does this. He tries to add a soft s to his speech for the effect of being thoughtful and trips up when it’s not required.
Comment by Ag80 (b2c81f) — 6/27/2012 @ 8:53 pm
Well, dang it, I should have said he tries to be measured and precise by saying um and ah a lot, while speaking in a soft tone to indicate deep thought about what he is saying.
I mean he is a constitutional scholar and all.

Well, you’ll be hearing him for the next four years. Romney isn’t going to say anything that will prevent his reelection.

I do not accept this
Comment by happyfeet (3c92a1) — 6/27/2012 @ 9:04 pm
ha!
Who cares?
The economy speaks for itself. The lack of a budget speaks for itself. Brian Terry’s death speaks for itself. This administration is running a trainwreck.

That may be true, but what Romney says may not matter as much as what the President has and has not done.
Hey, how about a Obamacare thread on Patterico just for fun? It’s almost Thursday.

Apparently, accurately communicating the names of sports teams is “above his pay grade.”
But it is true, the “Heats” defeated the “Thunders” to earn the NBA title.
Fortunately, Obama will not be President next year when the Utah “Jazzes” will play the Orlando “Magics” for the championship.
I imagine next June around this time, Obama will be vacationing in The Maldives, which I’ve been told has been relocated to its new geographical location off the coast of Argentina, or perhaps he’ll be actively brushing up on his “Austrian” so he can speak to the natives in Austria.
Then again, maybe Obama will remain in the States next summer for his vacation. There are probably a number of states he has yet to visit. After all, he’s only visited 50 of the States—so he’s probably got seven more to cross off his

Well, if Obama was a basketball fan this would be embarrassing. Then again, he’s clearly not easily embarrassed. See Economy, The.
And other stuff.

There were many things I though about Obama as he assumed office, but for the life of me “Markedly less competent than George W Bush” wasn’t one of them. Who knew?

BTW, Megan McArdle is back blogging and is in fine form discussing how we should all be grateful the Court killed FDR’s crazed NIRA. Even if she’s now at the Daily Beast.

==I mean he is a constitutional scholar and all.==
Heh. Does anyone have any idea when first the phrase “constitutional scholar” was applied to Barack Obama on air or in writing? And who was the person who said it? Somebody needs to be publicly exposed and mocked mercilessly for doing it.
Comment by elissa (ad4725) — 6/28/2012 @ 1:29 am
So if I heat my house with two furnaces, is that heatsing my house? Oh never mind.

Hold on a moment… That was an awfully quick slice. I’m definitely NOT an Obama fan, but I’m inclined to give the Campaigner-in-Chief the benefit of the doubt here. Are we sure he was saying “Heats” and not “Heat’s”?
(I can’t believe I just went to Obama’s defense.)

You Breitbots deceptively edit everything.
Comment by JD (ad6f40) — 6/28/2012 @ 6:11 am
JD, with the hack-job Andrea Mitchell & MSNBC pulled, how could one NOT be suspicious? I’m not a big fan of the quick cuts no matter who’s doing the clipping.
Comment by K_P_Brown (422269) — 6/28/2012 @ 6:29 am
He said “Heats”. There is NO deceptive editing — only a now former TOTUS programmer looking for work.
