  1. P, you mistake the matter. That is a triple secret exoneration.

  2. …a misplaced “apostrophy_s”, Mr. P?

  3. Some random questions:

    1) Why aren’t there any modern day photos of BK?
    2) How much of a role has his father, who I understand is a lawyer, played in BK’s role as a prison lawyer and beyond? Is he still alive? And if so do we know what his relationship is with him?
    3) Unfortunately I cannot find the link, but a blog run by an ex-con posted a slightly redacted email exchange between the ex-con and Neal Rauhauser where Rauhauser makes the claim (if I understand him correctly) that BK was exonerated of all charges concerning the bombings and that he got a large settlement because of it. Is any of that true?

  4. Ipso, as far as I can tell, Neal is practicing the ‘Chewbacca defense, the High Beam cases linked to don’t concern Kimberlin. Besides the explosives tests, had nothing to do with Dugan.

  5. I believe BK was a disappointment to his dad and BK resented him for a number of reasons.

  6. Its missing a “heh”.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  7. Ipso Fatso, none of Brett Kimberlin’s claims to be “exonerated” are true. Absolutely none.

  8. He seems to be engaging in the Nixon was a crook, so Hiss was innocent, fallacy.

    narciso (494474)

  9. Ipso, forgot to add, G. Kimberlin, his dad, died in 1994 at age 65.

    Sarahw (b0e533)

  10. Ipso, the exoneration is a fiction.

    Sarahw (b0e533)

  11. Also Ipso, there are contemporary photos and vids of BK.

  12. Thanks guys & gals for the info. Much appreciated.

  13. Ipso,
An ex con’s view can be found here. Definitely a good read.

  14. @Ghost

    That is it. Thanks.

  15. Thanks, Patrick. I needed that.

  17. #13 … Thanks Ghost for the linkage and kind words.

  18. “An ex-con’s view” needs to be taken with a large container of salt: while Lemmen is forthright in admitting he is a felon, as someone who had dealings with him when he was a “general” and who knows people who were defrauded by him, all i can say is that i hope he has turned over a new leaf, but he has yet to repay those he stole from nor has he earned any trust.

    caveat emptor, y’all.

the BK search results, OTOH are good news. Go Team!

    redc1c4 (403dff)

  19. You’re right Red, verify, verify, verify. BTW, Go to Popehat and read my judgment. You’ll see a heafty sum that I am required to pay as restitution (all justified) first, before any other repayment scheme of agreement. Which I am doing to the full extent I am able (10% of my $1200 per month disability). Can you support a disabled wife, yourself pay for rent (in the cheapest shithole we could find), food meds and utilities on an effective $1,080 per month? No rent assistance, no food stamps, no aid or assistance programs. Only what I receive in SSA disability after 30+ years of paying in. I hope I live long enough or that I can get a book deal so that everyone can be paid off first (I am not allowed a bank account so any proceeds for a book would go directly to the court clerk to reduce the restitution). I’ll get to Colin as soon as I can.

  20. But isn’t Reynolds channeling Palin when he asks, “How’s that hopey changey stuff workin’ out for ya?”

So, wouldn’t the better comparison for you to make be, “As Palin might say…”?

    Anon Y. Mous (8ec442)

  21. Heh.

  22. I didn’t know that Brett Kimberlin is a convicted terrorist, but now I do.

I didn’t know that Brett Kimberlin is a convicted perjurer, but now I do.

I didn’t know that Brett Kimberlin likes to use our legal system to sue, accuse and lie about innocent people, but now I do.

  23. [Is it true that:]BK was exonerated of all charges concerning the bombings and that he got a large settlement because of it. Is any of that true?

No, Ipso, that is not true.

This is one reason why Brett initially declared WWIII on those who started posting about his actual record. It would soon become clear that Brett was not exonerated, which was a common con to show he’s was a political prisoner/victim/truthworthy. They do not issue double secret exonerations.

I suspect Brett’s ability to get donations from major lefties and perhaps state department support helped him convince his marks.

Now they are left with the pathetic ‘but that one thing was a long time ago, so don’t talk about it!’ Which is dishonest about his more recent behavior and also weak.

His criminal record has over 35 convictions.

  24. redc1c4, I understand your reluctance to trust a convicted felon. We seem to be dealing with a lot of them lately, from Speedway Bomber Brett Kimberlin to Paul Lemmen to Ali Akbar.

Of those three, Paul Lemmen has been the only one to be completely candid about his crimes and current status. If you’ve read his blog recently you’ve seen pictures of his place of residence. It’s hardly the Taj Mahal. His cherished Mustang is what…twenty years old?

There’s a judgement in place and he’s paying it off as best he can, given his current financial circumstances. What more would you have him do?

Ex-cons can change. They do it by acknowledging their past openly and facing the future squarely. Like the alcoholic, the ex-con maintains his integrity one day at a time.

Until I see evidence to the contrary I accept Paul Lemmen for what he claims to be. And I’m glad to have made his acquaintance.

    creeper (f1f686)

  25. That’s all well and good creeper, Lemmen might be OK, I don’t know him. You’re certainly willing to speak up for him, but would you let him hold your wallet?

    ropelight (4a5b4a)

  26. ropelight: I would not ask to hold his wallet. If I ever fall off the straight and narrow, I would sincerely hope that he would go screaming to the cops, for my own good.
Look at my blog. Links to sites, a blog roll, oh looky, a Donations page! Go there. I ask for donations. To be made to other bloggers, at their blogs. No ads, nothing to separate anyone from their hard-earned cash.
As I agreed with Red, verify, verify, verify.

    plemmen (6cd503)

  27. Ding!

    Icy (a3c527)

  28. “would you let him hold your wallet?”

In a heartbeat. As Martin Luther said, “I can do no other.” I take people at face value, though with a grain of caution. Nothing I have seen of Paul Lemmen leads me to believe I could not trust him. And so I do. In fact, I would contribute to Paul’s blog if there were a way to do so.

P.S. It’s “Ms” creeper. In case anyone wonders, the nick comes from our original net computer…a 486 running Windows 3.1 on dial-up. Hubby dubbed it “the Second Street creeper” and it stuck.

    creeper (f1f686)

  29. Ooops…Paul, where is the donation button? I can’t see it on Firefox.

    creeper (f1f686)

  30. Never mind. I thought you meant you accepted donations to your own blog.

    Should have known better.

    creeper (f1f686)

  31. plemmen, you ask visitors to your site to make donations to other bloggers???
