That doesn’t describe all law students, but I think there’s a ton of truth in that.
We have a ton of smart folks with a liberal arts degree of no practical application. They could have been great skilled workers in America 50 years ago, but today they got the High School Diploma 2.0 (a B.A.). The JD or MBA are like the B.A. 2.0.

But for a great referral fee I would never have been able to buy a house nor get married. I learned more important career skills working the counter in a fast food joint and as a bank teller than I ever learned in those 3 years. Did learn that when I figured out I could finish in 2 and a half years by takinga few gut summer classes suddenly the dean of the law school was duly horrified enough-to demand I pay full tuition for the last semester I did not attend.
