“When I say I love this man, I am being 100% serious;” TMZ Says Weiner Was Sexting Ginger Lee, Too

Filed under: General — Aaron Worthing @ 6:27 am

[Guest post by Aaron Worthing; if you have tips, please send them here.  Or by Twitter @AaronWorthing.]

The quote is from her blog, quoted here when I speculated on the relationship between Weiner and Ginger Lee, the adult entertainer.  Everyone of course suspects something is up when a congressman is communicating with such a woman, especially because later we saw strong evidence suggesting that Weiner was not sending pro-forma direct messages.  This was personalized, or so the evidence indicated.  But at the time the evidence was scant, and I try to be fair to people.  So I admitted that despite asserting her seriousness in loving the Weiner, we didn’t know that she would even do anything if she ever found herself alone with him.  On the other hand, knowing men as I do, I strongly suspected that he was at least interested in some kind of relationship with her.

And for informational purposes (and not at all for Rule 5 reasons), let’s have the pretty pic of her again:

Well, we don’t need to speculate any more.  TMZ has spilled the whole thing:

Weiner and former porn star Ginger Lee exchanged scores of sexual emails over a long period of time.  When the underwear scandal broke on May 28, Lee began receiving calls from the media, and Weiner was more than happy to help her control the situation … by lying.

A politician is telling people to lie?  Say it ain’t so, Joe!

Still some of the inside baseball is interesting.

On June 2, Weiner emailed Lee, “Do you need to talk to a professional PR type person to give u advice?  I can have someone on my team call. [Yeah, my team is doing great. Ugh].”

Yes, the giant Weiner was suggesting that his problem was lousy PR people—you know, as opposed Weiner himself calling a reporter a jackass.

Weiner put on a full court press, urging Lee to lie about their relationship.  On June 1, he emailed her:  “The key is to have a short, thought out statement that tackles the top line questions and then refer people back to it.  Have a couple of iterations of: ‘This is silly.  Like so many others, I follow Rep. Weiner on Twitter.  I don’t know him and have never met him. He briefly followed me and sent me a dm saying thank you for the follow.  That’s it.'”

Weiner suggested a nice touch — some good ol’ Southern charm: “And then maybe insert some y’alls in there.”

Hmm, who was it that wrote “[w]hat a cute accent”…?  By the way, for the record, not all Southerners say y’all.  My impression is it’s more of a Texas thing although surely it doesn’t stop at that state’s border.  Like no one said y’all when I lived in North Carolina, but obviously they did in Texas.

And for that matter, y’all isn’t limited to the South either.  I feel a musical interlude coming on…

Still you should read the whole piece by TMZ.  They point out that there is potential ethics trouble, here, too, because that PR staff might have been part of his office staff.

  1. I live in NC now and I hear y’all frequently.

  3. Whelp, things are looking worse for him.

I can’t help but think part of her love for him came from his positions on the health care bill, namely a single payer system. She seems to have real health issues.

  4. Btw, you ever hear of Beastie Boys Star Trek paradox.

Okay, in the most recent Star Trek movie, young Captain Kirk listens to that song on the radio as he steals that car and goes joyriding.

So the Beastie Boys exist in their universe.

But in their song “intergalactic,” they make a reference to Star Trek, saying, “like a pinch to the neck of Mr. Spock” or something close to that… so they reference a movie series that in turn references them. thus the paradox.

  5. No one said “y’all” in NC? I was born and raised in VA, and we said “y’all” all the time.

I suppose it’s a regional thing. “Y’all” is probably “nails-on-chalkboard” to a northerner’s ears, much the same as “youse guys” is to mine.

  6. Shockingly, his advice to Ginger seems to be exactly the route Coed took. Even yesterday, she was pointed people to it, and deleted her comments that strayed from that line. What are the odds?

great point. i do not believe gennette’s story, btw. i have been grilling her online, and i just don’t believe anyone, even an egotistical congressman, would be sending that pic without some build up.

  8. So now we know he was personally involved and actively trying to get people to lie on his behalf. Plus, he is a weiner. No more hummas for you.

  10. Speaking honestly, I cannot for the life of me understand how a pretty pr0n star would get wet-pantied over someone who looks like Weiner. Have you seen him? What is wrong with women?!?!

ah, well, technically i am a carpetbagger, and i say y’all all the time. its a useful word. it fills in a gap in American english because we don’t have a proper second person plural pronoun.

  17. Considering all the other ideologically suspect instructional pedagogy subsidized by our tax dollars, I’m not sure I can muster much outrage over schooling a whore in the art of lying.

    Tina Trent (7f2406)

  18. “¿vosotros / ustedes?”

One of the many things about the Spanish language that I prefer over English. I also like that there are very few irregular words, comparatively speaking.

I studied Spanish for three years. I regularly regret the fact that I never practiced it and lost it all.

  19. Well, considering that Weiner and Huma have only been married for around a year, it’s unusual that he would be chasing pornstar skirt.

Maybe there is something to all of this “Beard” talk after all…

  20. Weiner should be tarred and feathered just for being so stupid to not know that the internet is forever. Does he really think things can’t be traced back to him? The least he could do is get a prepaid cell phone and then all he has to lie about is the security video from the store he bought it.

Does he really think a porn star is going to remain silent forever? 10 year old boys learn that when two people know something, it isn’t a secret anymore.

But if mental midgets like Weiner are making laws that we have to live with and obey I really fear for this country.

Maybe there is something to all of this “Beard” talk after all…

I recall rumors that his wife was bisexual and possibly even snuggled up to her boss, Hillary, on occasion. Not to mention that rumors about Hillary’s bisexuality have encircled her for years. The latter is more plausible in light of the odd, no-shame relationship that she and Bill have had going back a long time.

One lesson in all of this is not just that lots of guys think with their genitals, but that there’s lots of free will and free choice in behavior, sexuality included. IOW, I think talk about Weiner’s sexuality (ie, he’s a switch hitter), in tandem with talk about his wife’s background, in parallel with rumors about Hillary — combined with their liberal biases — make Weinergate a great example of the power of good or lousy judgment in people’s lives. That needs to be kept in mind when people are getting teary eyed over, for example, a disapproval of same-sex marriage or are expressing resentment about “old fogey” standards.

  32. From TMZ:
On June 2, Weiner sent Lee a proposed statement she could give to

the press: “I have nothing to do with the situation involving Rep Weiner. I follow his twitter feed. And for a brief time he followed me. Much has been made of the fact that I have posted about my admiration for Rep Weiner and his politics. All I can say about that is that I’m a fan of his. Rep. Weiner sent me one short direct message thanking me for following him. I have never met Rep. Weiner and he has never sent me anything innappopriate (sic) …”

    From The Coed:

I am a 21-year-old college student from Seattle. I have never met Congressman Weiner, though I am a fan. I go to school in Bellingham where I spend all of my time; I’ve never been to New York or to DC. The point I am trying to make is that, contrary to the impression that I apparently gave from my tweet, I am not his girlfriend. Nor am I the wife, girlfriend or mistress of Barack Obama, Ray Allen or Cristiano Ronaldo, despite the fact that I have made similar assertions about them via Twitter.

There have never been any inappropriate exchanges between Anthony Weiner and myself, including the tweet/picture in question, which had apparently been deleted before it reached me.

    Uncanny!

  38. On the right and wrong scorecard Democratic Congressman Weiner has been wrong and made wrong moves at every single intersection of this story. Breitbart has been right. Is there a liberal commenter who can dispute this?

    Birdbath (19803d)

  39. The professional left has for years accused political strategists from Segretti to Atwater to Rove of playing the dirtiest tricks. History has set aside dozens of those most damning accusations. But the stink of the Clinton White House and their scorched earth policy for personal and political opponents will never be cleared by history, as well as the Obama campaign’s kneecapping of private citizens, and now Congressman Weiner’s arrogant behavior, lies to the public, and the PR and political hitmen he sent after private citizens. Weiner’s actions have not been small. He used a tremendous amount of power and influence to save his hide (which he unceremoniously failed to do). That’s why Andrew Breitbart deserved an apology.

That’s exactly how to look at this. Either way, you can’t trust the people who went guns ablazing on the Weiner script of yfrog hacking.

That’s not to say that those who were sincerely curious and honest about their ignorance are untrustworthy (quite the contrary… those who expressed skepticism while relaying a theory are useful journalists with working brains). Then again, those who sensationalized this for ratings are just wannabee Nancy Graces or worse, shills like Tommy and this Cannon idiot.

One thing I recall is that Weiner claims that if this kind of sexting between a 45 year old and a minor occurred, it’s the minor’s fault. After all, that’s implicit in his ‘I’m defending the girls by being outraged you’d ask’ meme. It’s not their fault, in my book. It’s 100% on the older, powerful, political celebrity who abused his station and the trust parents would give him to let him communicate with their kids for educational purposes.

But let’s not rush to judgment. I know that produces an eyeroll, given that Weiner is covering up something, and he’s been caught lying. However, we do not have much evidence he was messing with minors. We have a lot of speculation, and no matter what we find, there will be yet more speculation. eventually, some of it will be unfounded.

  42. Anyone surprised? Not I. Has been long time coming & not done yet. I keep saying this over & over “We need those with honor, integrity & values to lead this country. With few exceptions in the house & senate, where are they? We have a Socialist boob-headed dumbass as a leader, a plain dumbass as VP, minority leader (Pilosi) & majority leader (Reid).

    Steve (89f6d3)

  43. “With few exceptions in the house & senate, where are they?”

They try to run and are eaten alive. Look at Joe Miller, the guy who actually believed Lisa Murkowski’s promise to honor the primary (They promised to endorse whoever won). He accordingly campaigned for conservatives, and had spent most of his campaign money when the primary ended, he won, and she ran in the general as a write-in, blanketing the state with ads about Miller’s intention to cut off the government cheese.

Or Mccain, who believed Obama’s promise to use public financing (hate Mccain all day, if you like, but the man loves his country and stupidly believed Obama’s promise).

I could go on for ages. Honorable politicians rarely survive anywhere but the House of Representatives, in only a few districts.

And the problem is that the American people basically do not give a crap about the nuts and bolts of what’s going on these days. I hate to say that. Everyone is really interested in the latest salacious nonsense. Solzhenitsyn was right.

    Dustin (c16eca)

  44. ‘You’re not just whistling Dixie’ there, Dustin, you chose not to bring up the most obvious example,
which drives some of the posters here insane, Wiener
was wrong on the War, on the Patriot Act, on any real plan for economic growth, yet he was given a pass.
