PSA: Download Lady Gaga’s New Album for $1, NOW (Update: Promotion Over)

Filed under: General — Aaron Worthing @ 5:02 pm

[Guest post by Aaron Worthing; if you have tips, please send them here.  Or by Twitter @AaronWorthing.]

Update: I forgot to say that if you go through the search box on the sidebar, then Patrick gets a small donation to help keep the site going, at no additional cost to you. That’s a win-win!

Update (II): And as of 1:00 a.m, it is still available for a dollar.  I am not sure when it will disappear, but act fast.

Update (III): And the promotion is over.

———————————-

I will say truthfully I haven’t even listened to a full Lady Gaga album yet.  And I am underwhelmed by her single “Born this Way.”  I hate it when artists think its time to tell me how to live.  But what can beat a dollar for the download?

Well, in my case, free.  I recently bought an Aretha Franklin CD for my mother for Mother’s Day and got a free credit to download an MP3 from Amazon.com.  I thought to myself, “what am I going to do with a single dollar’s credit?”  And this came along.  So that is how I paid for it.

Haven’t even listened to it yet, except for a few seconds to verify it was in my phone.

Anyway, it’s straining the servers as we speak.  So please if you are inclined, use the sidebar to search for it. The album is “Born This Way” and the deal only applies to an MP3 download of it. And they promise that if you put in the order today, you get the deal, even if it might take longer to physically download it.

By the way, I hope there is a good reason why she looks like a motorcycle here…

  1. that is very exciting cause of Lady Gaga is the future like India and cassava chips and Windows 8

“It appears there was a misstatement. We are eagerly awaiting the next generation of Windows 7 hardware that will be available in the coming fiscal year. To date, we have yet to formally announce any timing or naming for the next version of Windows.”

  3. You also get 20 gb of cloud storage for all your other music, if you buy an album, so that’s a buck for a very nice service.

Amazon’s cloud player is everthing iTunes is not. Convenient, fast, light on system resources, etc.

Remember Patterico trying to sync his music from one system to another? With Amazon’s player all your music is on there, ready to go, no matter what you log on with (as long as it’s compatible).

I think Apple is planing a competitor, and that’s why Amazon is pushing loss leaders such as this album. They want you to try their product out before you commit to Apple’s.

Anyway, I’m a big fan of the player. It’s great for work computers, or school computers, because you have your entire personal music library instantly.

  4. And then you can download some real music.

It’s one of those recordings that show up on almost any list of great performances, from long before Lady Gaga was born to probably long after she’s the answer to a trivia question.

And if you don’t want to download it, you can get as a regular CD, for which there’s a link on the page.

(link was done through Patterico’s widget).

    kishnevi (d6767c)

  5. Actually, come to think of it, I think you need to enter the site through Patterico’s widget for him to get credit for a purchase. So enter Furtwangler Beethoven in the widget and search in MP downloads if you actually do it.

    kishnevi (d6767c)

  6. yeah, you have to use patterico’s widget, hence the lack of link.

  7. Is it OK if I don’t but we say I did?

  8. Actually I believe Patterico gets an even bigger cut if you follow a direct link to the specific item, with his tag on it. So try the following links for the Lady Gaga album and for Kish’s recommendation. At least, I think those are correctly formatted to give Patterico the maximum commission.

  9. Oops, try again:

    God-damned angel = devil

Feets, I don’t think you knew how right you were. She has a great voice. But IMO her subject matter (in some songs/videos anyway) is pretty depraved.

    no one you know (fd287d)

  18. I’m still sticking with the country song as my favorite. Mostly the cd isn’t a lot of fun.

here is my cheeky depraved song I like a lot lately

    happyfeet (3c92a1)

  19. Meh, Lady Gaga just doesn’t do it for me. Maybe I’ve officially crossed the Rubicon of old-fartdom or something. I used to be “with it”, but now I’m not even sure what “it” is 🙂

    Bob Reed (5f2db5)

  20. Lady Gaga likes to kick puppies and steal lollipops from babies so they can cry.

    DohBiden (15aa57)

  21. So happy that a quad is my only desire to ride! EVER!

Gaga an Gage are close right? For some reason i don’t think this one could even fake playing baseball!

Though she will play the copy cat for as long as folks hand her their parents money.

    RRR (81cf01)

  22. Download Lady GaGa? Why on Earth would I want to do that? For a dollar? Not worth it. Wait. I pay the dollar? I thought somebody was offering me a dollar to do this to punch up some numbers which couldn’t be managed any other way. Sort of payola and it wasn’t worth a buck.
    But ME pay?
As the infamously obnoxious tennis player used to whine, “You cannot be serious!”

  23. I can’t imagine myself doing anything so horrible that the appropriate punishment would be listening to a Lady Gaga album.

    Wright (8a7bfe)

  24. I don’t get it personally I think America’s pop culture – really broadly defined – is about the only thing worth celebrating about faily faily America anymores

    happyfeet (3c92a1)

  25. My 9 year old wanted this for her iPad yesterday. Desperately. I am weak.

    JD (29e1cd)

    Aaron Worthing (73a7ea)

  34. Would you say that Lemonade Mouf are as yummy as, say, summer lemonade cupcakes?

I’d have to say a couple of them might be…

    Just sayin’

Very anti-Gaga, which, you know, kind of works for me. But some suspect me to be a bit hatey sometimes 😉

    Bob Reed (5f2db5)
