Fail of the Day!

So Vladamir Putin decided to visit a Russian car factory, and fail! ensued.  The fun comes at the 40 second mark…

Here’s a news article on the incident, for those who can’t watch videos right now.  My favorite part was when they mentioned it would be the cheapest car in Europe.  You don’t say

Then again, I remember Dennis Miller lamenting the horrors in the former Yugoslavia, saying (paraphrase): “it makes you wonder if we could have avoided this whole mess if we just bought a few more of those crappy cars.”

  2. Apparently Russian cars retain their high quality from the old Soviet days.

Although I’ve never heard of anything to match what I witnessed with a Fiat in Rome.

This was in 1973; I was part of a teen tour group, spending a week in Rome after touring Israel for three weeks.

We were headed to lunch at the kosher restaurant where all our meals were provided (this was a Jewish tour, complete with chaperonage by a rabbi). One of the girls was a little slow to cross the street. A little Fiat came zooming around the corner and hit in her in the leg.

She was completely unhurt, except for possibly a little bruise.

The Fiat had a large dent in the hood from the impact of her leg on the car.

  5. Notice that he wants everyone to know that there are no bodies of State Enemies in the trunk.

  6. The guy who set the timing on that engine just accidentally drank some radioactive tea.

  7. SPQR – I was imagining his comments on the trunk as, “You could probably fit three or four journalists in there. Five maybe if they were small.”

  8. Greetings:

Looks like they edited out the part where Putin had to move the driver’s seat forward so that he could reach the pedals. And don’t most people do a little peeky-poo to see what’s under the hood?

Maybe he thought it was in the trunk?

Yes, that was a little weird. But some small cars take a little jujutsu to open the hood if you’re not familiar with the latch. Perhaps they edited that part out too because it made Putin look dumb.

The guy manages his image like he’s Justin Beiber.
