Headline of the Day: “Snake Dies From Silicone Poisoning After Biting Model’s Breast During Photoshoot”

[Guest post by Aaron Worthing; if you have tips, please send them here.]

This qualifies as almost too funny/horrifying to check:

It should have been an alluring photoshoot between two of nature’s beautiful creatures as a model wrapped herself in a snake.

But surgically enhanced Israeli model Orit Fox got more than she bargained for when the massive boa constrictor took objection to her over familiarity and reacted by biting into her breast.

However, it was the snake who came off worse because, while Ms Fox need a tetanus shot in hospital, the reptile later died from silicone poisoning.

Indeed at the link the Daily Mail uses stills to give you the, um, blow by blow as she plays with the snake and then it bites her.  I do have to dispute the claim that this involves “two of nature’s most beautiful creatures.”  Hey some people like snakes and I’ll give them a mulligan on that, but on the other hand, I have yet to find a picture of Fox that didn’t make her look like bleached horror.

And of course we have video:

But that all being said, this might be arguably too funny to check, but, um, are we sure about the snake dying?  The silicone is that dangerous?  This sounds like a joke someone told about the incident, perhaps converted by bad translation into a reported fact, much like the infamous incident when a reporter told a joke about Dan Quayle and it was accidentally reported in a newspaper as a real event. So color me skeptical on that part.

  1. Thank you for trying to keep us abreast of the big issues, but I think this story was a bit over-inflated.

    Some chump (4c6c0c)

  2. If she throws an elbow at you and you duck… you’d still be knocked unconscious.
It’d be like getting hit with a sand bag.

boas don’t have fangs or real large teeth and probably didn’t ummm penetrate the skin deep enough to even hit the jellyfish like container they use for the gel inside. That container they use is soft and also really tough.
They make those things here in SB and I’ve had an old sales small size sample tossed in my face by a friend who works there who was four beers into pranking me.
No truth to the rumor that I absconded with it. Things get lost sometimes when you drink too many beers, why blame a friend?

  3. steve

so you are skeptical like me.

but i will keep abreast of the story as it develops.

    Aaron Worthing (e7d72e)

  4. Yeah, I was just going to post the same thing as SteveG.

I’ve been bitten by a boa at the result is more like needle-pricks than anything you would call a “bite”. They are long enough teeth to draw blood, but to pierce all the way through the skin, through the silicon bag, and into the breast is a bit much.

Furthermore, was she leaking silicone out of the wound? How would the snake have injested it? Was there any news that she had to go have surgery to seal up and fix the silicone implant?

  5. “Never mind, she’s fine. The snake’s dead!”

  6. I could believe the snake died from the event itself had it struck the implant and it exploded, blowing the snake’s head off, but the snake did not die from silicone poisoning. Perhaps it received a lethal dose of artificial sun tan or something.

I bet PETA will sue her. It’s likely the one time I would support them. Seems to me women should have learned to stay away from snakes a long, long time ago.

    MD in Philly (3d3f72)

  7. The silicone in breast implants is fairly non-toxic. I can’t see a boa dying from it either.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  8. If it really did penetrate her implant, she’s going to have to have it replaced. So this wouldn’t be funny in any case.

    Steven Den Beste (99cfa1)

  9. yeah, i think the consensus is that this is wrong. funny, but wrong.

still putting silicon in your body is idiotic. why not saline?

    Aaron Worthing (e7d72e)

  10. because the saline has to be inside a silicon bag anyway?

regardless, tit’s important that this blog stay on top of these sorts of stories.

  11. she looked very startled when the snake bited her reptiles are not very big on the letting go part – a lot of times when you try and make them let go they just clench their teeth harder!

I imagine ouch … they’ve never bitten me cause I’m their special person-friend.

Anyway I finally learned a trick to make my turtles unbite when they get a hold of each other … you just grab both of their front turtlefeet and gently pressure them back into the shell and they let go every time! I think cause it freaks them out that their feet aren’t working right.

This is a great tip but not as useful for boa constrictors probably.

    happyfeet (a55ba0)

  12. So we’ve at least discovered what happyfeet’s “special person-friend” is.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  13. I’m voting with the skeptics. It’s unlikely that the snake would have picked up a fatal does IF his teeth went in that deeply.

  16. What?

    DohBiden (984d23)

  17. What?

    DohBiden (984d23)

  18. Just let this be a lesson in case any of you are tempted to bite one of those things.

    Boa constrictors, of course.

    Mike K (8f3f19)

  19. Silicones are relatively inert, non-toxic compounds. You’ve been punked.

    gp (1330f9)

  20. “Silicones are relatively inert, non-toxic compounds.”

gp – You mean I can guzzle some caulk from my caulk gun with no problem?

    daleyrocks (ae76ce)

  21. it may very well prove to be that the snake actually died of radiation poisoning and that this is just an elaborate cover story to prevent panic

    happyfeet (a55ba0)

  22. “You mean I can guzzle some caulk” Well, I prefer to smoke it, but whatever floats your boat.

    gp (1330f9)

  23. I’m sure you could find some PI lawyers who could convince a Mississippi jury that silicone is more dangerous than plutonium. But you legal eagles already knew that.

    gp (1330f9)

  24. “Well, I prefer to smoke it, but whatever floats your boat.”

gp – Either way, I see some winning bar bets coming up!

    daleyrocks (ae76ce)

  25. daleyrocks, the silicone in breast implants is not the same as the silicone based caulks … but sure, why not?

    SPQR (26be8b)

  26. SPQR – that real estate transaction we discussed? I won 😉

  27. happy

i think you needed some punctuation here:

    > she looked very startled when the snake bited her reptiles are not very big on the letting go part

I thought you were saying he bit her “reptiles” which was your word for her boobs. lol

    Aaron Worthing (73a7ea)

  28. you are absolutely right but I don’t think we’re quite at the point where punctuation is needed let’s try this:

she looked very startled when the snake bited her and reptiles are not very big on the letting go part

    happyfeet (ab5779)

  29. happy

actually i thought calling her boobs reptiles was pretty funny.

seriously, the woman is hideous in my eyes. i did a google search to see if she ever manages to be attractive. uh… no.

    Aaron Worthing (73a7ea)

  30. If she was trying to lick me like that, I’d bite her too.

I don’t like total strangers trying to lick me.

    Dave Surls (59512e)

  31. Dave

i think there was a concern about catching a disease. i mean the snake was concerned about catching one from her.

    Aaron Worthing (73a7ea)

  32. “I have yet to find a picture of Fox that didn’t make her look like bleached horror.”

She looks like a freaking barbie doll, one created by a mad scientist with really bad taste in women.

    Dave Surls (59512e)

  33. I think the part where the snake bit is attractive but the whole package looks like it came from the Spring 2009 Tiger Woods collection

    happyfeet (ab5779)

  34. I’ve been in the alternative medicine game too long. That, and I find such huge bazooms to be more an object of horrified fascination than of attraction. Anyway, my thought was “damn, her tongue looks awful. If she’s not fasting, she’s not well.”

    Peter B (7d89e7)

  35. “i think there was a concern about catching a disease.”

If I thought plastic surgery ugly was contagious, I’d stay well clear of that dame.

    Dave Surls (59512e)

  36. Maybe the boa died from an Ecstasy/Meth overdose with a general skank overlay.

  39. 2011-01-18 Obama Orders Regulation Review to Boost U.S. Growth

2011-03-15 White House to Push Privacy Bill

fortunately cowardly geriatric boob John McCain is on board to shepherd these NEW REGULATIONS along at this important time when our economy is CRYING OUT for more regulation

Sens. John McCain, an Arizona Republican, and John Kerry, a Massachusetts Democrat, have been distributing a draft bill that broadly tracks the Commerce recommendations, which were developed in part by Sen. Kerry’s brother Cameron.

Thanks Johnny Fail! But the important thing is to once again note that when president bumble says he wants to cut back on regulation, he’s lying.

  40. Is that your breast Aaron?

    Yeah that was lame.

Do women think men think that’s a sexy look? Cuz it’s not.

  42. I am disappointed by this thread – it consists of either silicon-phobes or caulk-lovers. For shame!

    Californio (25d6f5)

  43. Are you sure the snake didn’t die because it saw Michael Moore in a two-piece?

    DohBiden (984d23)

  44. I think it is clear that this story should be covered by the media with teats out to here. It should be investigated bra-thlessly until not a nipple is left uncovered.
