More Charles Johnson Dishonesty and High Level Civility-Type Talk
Before I get down to bitch-slapping Charles Johnson for his latest dishonest attacks on me, I want to make sure you see this December 2010 entry from the guys at Diary of Daedalus, in which they catch Johnson calling Kos a “craven coward” for blocking the Wayback Machine and Google Cache . . . and then prove he has subsequently done the same.
Because he has a lot of history to scrub, ya know. Go, read their post. Go, go! I’ll still be here when you get back.
You back? Good. On to my own fisking of Charles’s latest dishonesty:
Patterico and the echo chamber of wingnut blogs that linked to him are trying to make excuses for Glenn Beck, by setting up an obvious straw man — that I claimed Beck was telling his audience to go out and shoot people in the head — and then knocking the straw man down. But the simple truth is that I didn’t say or imply this at any time, and neither did the writer of the LGF Page that contained the video.
Right. You merely called his statements a “vile threat”:
You also called them a “crazed, incoherent rant”; “disgusting comments”; and “completely freaking insane.” And you also suggested there was no context that could explain the comments:
And you said I was “making excuses” for a “disturbing, incoherent rant involving shooting people in the head”:
But you weren’t implying that Beck was calling for violence — oh, no! Not at all!
Do you realize how transparent you are??
See, to me — and I bet to others! — the above kinda suggests that you did strongly imply Beck was issuing threats and calls for violence. But I also gave you plenty of opportunities to explain what you really thought he meant, and repeatedly asked you for your interpretation. And here are the kind of messages I got in response.

As you saw in his re-tweet of the tweet by Gus_802 Charles Johnson will attempt to contact your employers and cause you harm by proxy.
Gus 802 outed one ex LGF poster. Charles himself exposed a friend of mine and allowed one of his dedicated followers, Ludwigvanquixote to mount a campaign to get my friend fired from his job.
Charles allowed this to happen in the comment section of his blog. A blog that he or his admin group monitors constantly.
Despite what Johnson may claim, if you can read it at his blog he agrees with it.
I could give you and your readers examples of Charles and his cohorts outing individuals but that would only re-expose those individuals.
Charles Johnson is a toxic individual. Beware.

So, in addition to proving the hypocrisy, that “craven coward” thread was also a moment for us to gloat.

Duckspeak is a Newspeak term meaning literally to quack like a duck or to speak without thinking. Duckspeak can be either good or “ungood” (bad), depending on who is speaking, and whether what they are saying is in following with the ideals of Big Brother. To speak rubbish and lies may be ungood, but to speak rubbish and lies for the good of “The Party” may be good. In the appendix to 1984, Orwell explains:

This is basically all anyone knows Kilgore Trout for anymore. Charles defended it, and kept this guy on as a valued moderator. This makes Glen Greenwald’s sockpuppeting seem like a silly goof.
So if you see someone drop the N Word, it’s a safe guess it was KilGore Trout, Charles Johnson, or some other LGF moderator. That’s what they do. The more my memory is refreshed about these scumbags, the more ticked off I get.
They outed that woman, based on her private donation information, because she criticized them. And then they called her the stalker! And on the same grounds they call Patterico a stalker… because he posted a critical viewpoint on the internet.
Posting hysterical lies and boring, disingenuous arguments ought to be as bad as a blogger can get, but it’s not.

Johnson’s erratic behavior has alienated him from people like Pam Geller of Atlas Shrugged and Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch.
He’s also attacked other prominent sites and bloggers: Ace of Spades, Michelle Malkin, Hot Air, Protein Wisdom, Powerline, Mark Steyn, Geert Wilders, and Dennis Praeger.
He tolerates no dissent, real debate is forbidden, and his enemies list rivals Bill Clinton’s FBI files. He sees nazis behind every door, and probably hiding under his bed. And those are just the people who don’t agree with him 100%. He’s been known to ban people for disagreeing with him on other sites. The man’s paranoia level is skyhigh.
Johnson has become increasingly sycophantic towards Islamofascism, which is ironic given the fact that he received death threats from jihadis, right around the time when CAIR wanted to get LGF classified as a “hate site”.
He has whole-heartedly embraced Janet Napolitano’s idiotic “right-wing” threat assessment, assigned creationists to be bigger villains than terrorists, and disparages ordinary citizens who protest Obama’s socialist policies.
Johnson jumped off the sanity cliff a while back. He spends his time screaming from the bottom of the chasm.
