An Innocent Question
Now that we know that otherwise commonplace activity and speech (like using “crosshair” maps and speaking of “targeting” politicians) is off limits if it might be misinterpreted so as incite a crazy person to violence . . .
. . . not that that happened with Loughner BUT . . .
. . . isn’t there another commonplace activity that incites more crazy people to violence than any other?
When will the leftists call for the banning of Islam?
probably shortly after Palin converts to Islam
happyfeet (aa4bab) — 1/21/2011 @ 5:40 pmWhen will the leftists call for the banning of Islam
Why would they when there’s plenty of people on the right doing it for them?
kishnevi (ba4f5c) — 1/21/2011 @ 6:50 pmWell, certainly there is a hate they are not talking about…
Aaron Worthing (73a7ea) — 1/21/2011 @ 6:54 pmWhile I am sure moderate Muslims exist, Islam itself is radical.

Comment by happyfeet
Now that was a worthwhile comment.
MD in Philly (3d3f72) — 1/21/2011 @ 7:41 pmKishnevi:
I certainly spend all my free time drawing targets on people I don’t like.
Is there an adult in the room? Other than politicians and trolls, I mean?
Ag80 (e03e7a) — 1/21/2011 @ 7:53 pmNope, we’ll see plenty of calls for gun control like the ridiculous magazine capacity limit but not a thing about the only religion that gets people to strap on explosives.
SPQR (26be8b) — 1/21/2011 @ 8:12 pmAg80–as illustration of my point, see Daley at comment 4 and SPQR at comment 7.
kishnevi (ba4f5c) — 1/21/2011 @ 8:53 pm(And I didn’t say everyone on the right. For instance, I don’t remember you saying anything of that sort.)
belouis some had a song called target practice
this was in a prior decade not this one
the only version I can find is one of those interminable extended versions

kishnevi – Proving once again with your comment #2 that you fail to understand Patterico’s point. Also, in my #4, I did not mention banning, but don’t let that stop you.

Dog whistles are abstract, solid words mean something.
Ag80 (e03e7a) — 1/21/2011 @ 9:24 pmIsn’t that precious? kishnevi found his crayons, and is scribbling on the walls again.
Icy Texan (ed56f8) — 1/21/2011 @ 9:35 pmThis post has brought a smirk to my face. I can’t wait to ask this question to someone I know….
Bellerophon (d27870) — 1/21/2011 @ 10:42 pmI’m feeling very dim. I don’t understand this post or the comments.
Beldar (ff4f38) — 1/21/2011 @ 11:42 pmAnd yet, neither comment called for banning Islam. How does that illustrate your point?
Some chump (e84e27) — 1/22/2011 @ 12:19 amkishnevi, is there a particular reason you misrepresented my comment?
SPQR (26be8b) — 1/22/2011 @ 7:43 amHmmm … Palin’s target map causes endless violence, but Hollywood’s endless stream of heist/revenge/gangster/slasher movies has nothing to do with anything?
Check out the posters for the remake of The Mechanic, for example. The Tea Party ought to picket the theaters, although the press wouldn’t understand the irony.
Kevin M (298030) — 1/22/2011 @ 9:49 amNot that I argue for censorship, just that targeting the innocuous while ignoring the extreme seems a bit hypocritical.
Kevin M (298030) — 1/22/2011 @ 9:52 amHow about true instances of incitement, the NFL playoffs, the Raiders or the NCAA Final Four?
Pat Patterson (56dc55) — 1/22/2011 @ 10:11 amAccording to the DOJ (heh) the only drug statistically associated with violence is alcohol.
We should ban it.
For the children.
