The Jon Stewart Rally Gets the Taiwanese Animation Treatment

Well, it was inevitable, wasn’t it?  I am just surprised there was no reference to the port-a-potty shortage they were facing.

But joking aside, I give it 50-50 odds that Stewart actually likes the Taiwanese Animation enough that he actually puts it on the show.  I have a feeling he would be that cool.

In other news, Paul Fahri would like Stewart to call it off in order to perpetuate his lack of seriousness.

And on the same day there is a rally to demonstrate that Government Doesn’t Suck

Of course one thing that can be said for sure is the Government does suck…

…us all deep into debt.  I mean there is that.  (Note that this is a chart of the deficit.  I won’t show you one of the debt, because you might all commit suicide.)

Jon Stewart is calling his event the Rally to Restore Sanity.  We will Jon, by firing the nuts who are running Washington these days.

  1. I’d gain a lot of respect for Stewart if he goes up on stage Saturday and lets it rip at any of the liberals in the audience who came to the Mall thinking this was going to be a pro-Obama/pro-Democrat rally.

He could easily work that into a rant about the fanatics on both sides of the political spectrum, but my guess is the audience won’t be made uncomfortable by Jon in the least. If there are any jokes at the expense of Obama or congressional Democrats, they’re going to come at it from the left — i.e. “Why are our elected Democratic officials such wimps about pushing through the legislation we want? — as opposed to any jokes from the right about how asinine the legislation Obama, Reid and Pelosi backed was to begin with.

i used to watch the daily show religiously. but somewhere in the bush administration it just became “the democratic talking points… with jokes!” you always knew he would take the view of the liberal spin.

he is slightly more watchable now the dems are in power, because its really hard to fill half an hour with jokes at the expense of the republicans, when they can’t do very much. but i still don’t generally watch.

  3. They’re gonna need a lot of lotion for that rally. I pity the grass.

So John stewart would be seeking respect by… disrespecting the people who come out to see him? I think he’s going to make his part more of an anti-colbert rally.

  5. lotion? what do you got in mind.

  6. The Stewart “rally” will be a soon-forgotten side-show.

With crushing deficits, staggering unemployment and the uniquely American way of life under constant attack from the Progressives, I’m sure we all could use a good laugh.

For that, however, I think I’ll watch “The Office” instead.

  7. You know what’s annoying, I seem to recall Heir2freedom in the Juan thread linking his blog on some different topic, and noting that the Juan topic is just a distraction.

Now he’s got a Juan blog entry and he mentions it in an unrelated thread, again noting the thread topic is a side-show.

Heir, I actually like your blog, but maybe you should adjust the promotion of it a bit.

…only if the people coming out to see him start treating the Restoring Sanity rally as a pro-Democratic/anti-Beck-Palin-name-your-least-favorite-conservative event — i.e., signs, chants, the always-embarassing-giant-puppet-heads-of-evil-conservatives, etc.
If Stewart sees that the crowd is hungering for pro-Democratic red meat at a rally that supposedly is against strong partisanship on either side, then, yea, he would show a lot of principal by verbally taking that attitude to the woodshed, even if it does disappoint some of his fans.

just a friendly warning, posting on a blog like this is a good way to confuse the system into thinking you are a spammer.

Which is not to say don’t do it, but just be careful.

  12. Steve Carrell’s character would be better than Obama?

BTW why do the leftards want to raise taxes on the rich[except their own] when we are in such economic dire straits?
