Andrew Breitbart About to Make Brad Friedman’s Life a Lot More Difficult

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 12:01 am

Seen on Twitter tonight from Andrew Breitbart:

So excited to do something out of ordinary. Am re-following @thebradblog. Things are gonna get fun for @ericboehlert’s BFF. #pimphoaxwee!

You can’t see a message like that, about a guy like Brad Friedman, and not want to find out more. So: within minutes I was on the phone with Breitbart.

Sounds like he has a heck of an interesting story coming. You could even call it . . . a bombshell.

I can’t get any more specific than that, other than to say: hey, Brad? You know that thing you’ve been trying to hide from people? The thing you desperately don’t want people to know about? Yeah, that.

Sorry, dude. It’s coming out.

UPDATE: I’m just messing with Friedman, of course.

Or am I???

  1. The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Except, of course, Brad Friedman’s darkest secret.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  2. LOL. This had better be good with a promo like that.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  3. Will anyone care outside of people who already know who he is(and I do)?

    yarrrr (e0f897)

  4. That’s a good question, yarrrr.

    I would think so.

There’s a couple of hints strewn about, but you would have to know how to interpret them. Later I will reveal what the hints were.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  5. a more important question: did we get the popcorn machine fixed and is the beer frig full?

we don’t want to miss a minute of this.

    redc1c4 (fb8750)

  6. Well, the ‘bombshell’ reference seemed interesting, so I googled, and it turned up a brad story that is amazingly kooky. I only link this because it shows what a nut Brad is. Pretty sure the bombshell is a pretty girl. Who knows? Maybe he rented one while passing through one of ACORN’s Whore Advisory Counsels?

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  7. Dustin:

I can’t say whether that’s it or not. I can say, as I say in the UPDATE, that I am obviously messing with Brad in this post (or am I?). Whether it’s really a deep dark secret, or something he OUGHT to be worried about people knowing (but isn’t), I don’t know.

Me, I find it disturbing either way.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  8. It’s the breitbartocalypse?

    imdw (a544ba)

  9. Anytime Andrew Breitbart decides to make someone’s life more difficult, it’s usually a good day for conservatives. (And seeing far-left liars and/or hypocrites getting their rear ends handed to them is always fun.) Heh heh heh. Can’t wait.

    no one you know (72db9b)

supposing for the sake of argument you are NOT just screwing with him but andy has something… where should i tune in?

    Aaron Worthing (e7d72e)

  11. completely off topic, but here’s a link to an article discussing oral arguments in the westboro funeral protests case. http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=1202472978962

law.com using provides the best coverage.

    Aaron Worthing (e7d72e)

  12. I don’t think paid ACORN or Media Matters stooge would be out of the question.

    daleyrocks (940075)

  13. supposing for the sake of argument you are NOT just screwing with him but andy has something… where should i tune in?

    I believe Big Journalism.

But if you knew where to look you could find it all right now.

  14. Will empty the local Costco of popcorn and await the news.

  15. Once I took Ace to a get-together where JJ. Walker was present. He got to meet Walker and talk to him for a while. He sounds like a really good guy, Walker does.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  16. Sorry, I am having to be extraordinarily subtle here. If you do manage to scour the ‘Net and find what I am talking about, you will likely see how all the clues fit.

I think it will be a few days before the shoe drops.

    Patterico (c218bd)

  17. Patterico

well, i did find that in his jihad against ann coulter that he mistated the law. hint: CT has a statute of limitations and it has almost certainly passed.

    Aaron Worthing (e7d72e)

  18. Who is Brad Friedman and why is this important?

    Sycophantshateme (4f78d0)

  19. Who are you and why is your comment important?

    Patterico (b0e12d)

  20. Breitbart is just trying to distract everyone from Castro’s Peace Prize tomorrow.

    Kevin M (298030)

  21. Friedman counts on people’s ignorance about how systems work, in order to spin his tales

    ian cormac (6709ab)

  22. Having glanced at Brad Friedman’s site I don’t think I’ll waste my time again.

Don’t know whether Breitbart “has something” on Friedman or not–and don’t much care. Best to leave Friedman alone in the mud playing with his private parts like a three year old boy.

    Mike Myers (0e06a9)

  23. #19, I am asking a question which I had hoped to have a simple answer. Do as you wish but no need Counselor. Anyway….

Can anyone, in good faith, please explain who he is and its importance?

    I am really curious. Thanks.

    Sycophantshateme (4f78d0)

  24. #23, I was at his blog but found nothing too important. That is why I ask. Thanks again.

    Sycophantshateme (4f78d0)

  25. I totally trust that the man who gave fame to James “dildo boat” O’Keefe is going to give us something truthful and in context.

    AJB (d64738)

  26. was he part of the Journolist, he certainly fits their M.O.

    ian cormac (6709ab)

  27. btw, here is me showing that friedman is wrong about the statute of limitations in connecticut, and thus his jihad against coulter isn’t going to work. http://allergic2bull.blogspot.com/2010/10/brad-friedman-misstates-law-what-else.html

    Aaron Worthing (e7d72e)

  28. Wait, is this the same Andrew Breitbart that’s fabricated whole stories before and made himself and conservatives look like idiots? We don’t need his kind!

    BradRapstars (2c0d78)

  29. No, Brad, that’s the misrepresentations you’ve been making about Breitbart but failed to show, and had your ass handed to you about.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  30. #28, Can’t say I have seen anything like that. Sounds like you just made that up.

    Javert_is_alive! (4f78d0)

  31. #29 What? What “misrepresentations” have I “been making”? I don’t know you from Adam. I’m calling false flag.

    BradRapstars (2c0d78)

  32. AJB is aggressively stupid.

    JD (9e45a3)

  33. #31, If you say he has “fabricated whole stories” then it is safe to assume you are saying he is lying and distorting to score cheap points. If that is the case, I have seen nothing of that.

If you are claiming he has “fabricated whole stories” as like Woodward and Bernstein did when they pieced to together Watergate … then I get it.

    Javert_is_alive! (4f78d0)

  34. Just let that cheetos – snorting douchebag to his own devices, such as they are.

    Dmac (84da91)

  35. javert

i say if he makes conclusory allegations with NOTHING to back it up, just ignore him.

    Aaron Worthing (e7d72e)

  36. OK, ya got my attention, I don’t have a tingle running up my leg yet, but I do have my nose in the air.

    ropelight (064ea7)

  37. #35, I hear you but I try not to dismiss comments even if dismissing them are consistent with my biases — especially when I really know very little of the folks involved. Briebart seems honest enough but sometimes his passion is concerning b/c IMHO that type of passion can be blinding. BUT BUT BUT so far I like what he has done.

    Javert_is_alive! (4f78d0)

  38. Moby’s calling “false flag”, I guess irony alone can’t form an event horizon.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  39. Just so we’re clear: Javert is alive is Sycophantshateme/HeavenSent/etc.

Apparently he can’t get out more than a handful of comments before becoming so embarrassed that he has to change his identity.

    Patterico (b0e12d)

  40. Aaron,

I see you quoted Socrates in your post.

Is that because I quoted Socrates in my comment above?

I have a feeling we may all be quoting Socrates soon re Friedman.

    /hint

    Patterico (b0e12d)

  41. No Patterico, I just love to see you and Daley run around trying to figure out who each new poster is.

I frankly don’t think twice about it and their is about nothing I am cowered over here as you like to allege. Or to use your line of reasoning to most everything you disagree with — PROVE IT!!!!!

As I have repeatedly said, I go by what I read and then draw my conclusion. Some, look at who posts, and then reverse engineer their conclusion.

    Good day counselor.

    Javert_is_alive! (4f78d0)

  42. Andrew has been taunting again this afternoon. I know this snot nosed DeLong is not worthy of my anticipation, but, a good snicker with less than 4 weeks to election might get my gears running.

    sybilll (7fc024)

  43. Patterico

i am convinced you are just f—ing around. But its US you are f—ing with not Friedman.

Joking aside, you are waaay too obscure. my guess is you assign a level of knowledge of socrates to me that i just don’t have.

I will say honestly i didn’t even catch the semi-socratic comment toward the beginning (i don’t think socrates quite said what you said in comment 1, but its a very similar sentiment). maybe i picked it up subconsciously and then yes, used it in my own post.

i have defended this guy as excusably ignorant before. but what is not excusable is to be so unaware of your own ignorance.

i mean there is lots of crap we don’t know. alot we probably can’t know. the trick, to paraphrase another philosopher, is to know what you know, and don’t know what you don’t know.

Anyway, i have sworn off guessing on the matter and am just waiting for it to come out.

    Aaron Worthing (e7d72e)

  44. Friedman should confess and break the story himself, to reduce the damage.

    roy (d946db)

  45. roy

well, unless he has two dark secrets and doesn’t want to confess to the wrong one.

“gee, which do i confess to? the dead hooker in the basement? Or that i am also a secret agent for Iran?”

    Aaron Worthing (e7d72e)

  46. Friendman should confess to the deepest, darkest secret first. That way nobody will pay attention when Breitbart reveals that Friedman secretly filled a rented car with regular gas when it was supposed to take premium.

    roy (d946db)

  47. They should change the #pimphoaxwee! tag to Pimposium.

References could be: bombshell, pimp, coming out, unspeakable acts, and Socrates. Maybe skepticism.

His repeated attacks on anyone who points out ACORN’s voter fraud (they have many actual convictions for election fraud) combined with the fact he drafted 2 articles of impeachment for Kucinich, against Bush, for ‘tampering with free elections’ shows he’s taken a serious issue and exploited it in a highly unserious and partisan manner.

His self edited wikipedia entry calls him a ‘champion of fair elections’, but that’s a load of crap. He’s a champion of covering up election thieves and projecting their crimes onto Bush and Rove.

What could possible embarrass someone like Brad? Some crazy sex scandal?

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  48. Dustin

i am thinking he and Rush Limbaugh will be revealed to be lovers.

    Aaron Worthing (e7d72e)

  49. Just an example of Brad being pathetic. I noticed his wikipedia page left out the miles high information about what a crazy nut Brad is, while basically being nothing but a collection of lefties praising brad. It read exactly like an insecure weirdo making his own wikipedia page, so I checked and found out, yep, that’s what it largely is.

Yeah, Brad, you’re really a champion of the fair election when you cover up dozens of election fraud convictions and mock anyone who takes the matter seriously, while projecting voting fraud onto the right.

Show me a single example of a right leaning organization with as many election fraud convictions and fraudulent voter registrations as ACORN, and I will eat my own head.

  50. Separated at birth?

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  51. While I wait for this scoop,I’ve been reading this.

And I’ve been reading some left wing blogs, too.

I thought it always pretty obvious Brad Blog was astroturf, and perhaps dishonest in a quest for more attention and donations. Anything sexier than that I have no idea about. I’m interested in which Cliff bradblog will drive over next.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  52. Dustin – you just *had* to segway to the driving-over-a-cliff image, didn’t you ?

    (grin)

    MayBee (e121ec)

  55. Never heard of him, but can’t wait to hear the scoop!

    lasue (ed9852)

  56. Dustin,

That’s some interesting reading you linked there.

That Kos guy has written stuff under another name, I believe.

Kind of hard to follow though. It’s all Greek to me.

    Patterico (b0e12d)

  57. I will say honestly i didn’t even catch the semi-socratic comment toward the beginning (i don’t think socrates quite said what you said in comment 1,

Are you quite sure? Perhaps you should Google Socrates.

    Patterico (b0e12d)

  58. Dustin too.

    Patterico (b0e12d)

  59. Patterico

Actually later i googled out of curiosity and well, honestly i am not sure what he said precisely anymore. i guess i will have to go to the source, and as a result i give you the benefit of the doubt.

I mean i hedged my bets by saying “i don’t think.” but ironically, i should have said i don’t know. lol

    Aaron Worthing (f97997)

  60. Dustin’s like a guy who walks into an ice cream store holding a cone what already has ice cream in it.

    j/k

    Aaron Worthing (f97997)

  63. “i guess i will have to go to the source”

There are various translations of Plato. You can dust off your trusty Hackett complete works, or even uncover quotes by Socrates in blog comment sections. Why, you never know what blogs will reveal interesting dialogues you never came across in college.

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  64. It annoyed me all to heck in law school, professors talking about the Socratic Method, when I had forgotten more about the Platonic Dialogues than they had ever read. 😉

Frank J. and his wife are at the hospital apparently giving birth.

    His wife is, I mean.

Don’t say congrats yet, you will jinx things. just say good luck.

  67. I always love a good cup of schadenfreude even if I have no clue who we are talking about. I am almost peeing myself with excitement!

    Javert_is_alive! (AKA ...) (4f78d0)

  68. I feel out of the loop since the name “Brad Friedman” isn’t familiar to me, other than he appears to be a leftist. In that category, I’m aware of liberal goofuses like Keith Olberman, Al Franken and Michael Moore, but Friedman draws a blank.

    Mark (3e3a7c)

  69. Brett Kimberlin?

    John P. Squibob (882a08)

  70. Speedway bomber, who suddenly ‘discovered’ that he had dealt drugs to Quayle, Doonesbury made a big deal about it, and he got a hearing out of it

  73. okay, patterico, so let me go out on a limb and guess that they will release the kraken on monday.

the kraken being my word for whatever the hell this story is.

    Aaron Worthing (e7d72e)

  74. Was my #63 too vague, Aaron?

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  75. Dustin,

i am hopelessly confused by all the clues.

    Aaron Worthing (f97997)

  76. Brad Friedman is really convicted felon and bomber Brett Kimberlin, posting under an assumed name?

    Ernst Blofeld (31fe5b)

  77. Aaron, don’t admit you aren’t following along!

We’re just screwing with Brad here. I just posted random links and pictures, and really have no idea how they could possibly pertain to anything.

Just make up some garbage claim that sounds like it might pertain to some scandal, to sound smart, like I did. Like, just say you know Brad Freidman was that crazy dude living with Glen Greenwald posting as Ellison and Ellers. Or say Socrates was actually just a commenter on Brad Friedman’s blog spilling the beans on some disturbing connections with a con man.

You know, just completely BS stuff like that.

Who knows, maybe you’re accidentally say something true and people will think you’re smart.

    /whistles

    Dustin (b54cdc)

  78. That would only happen if he was reading off of an “idiot board”!
