Violence Edges Closer to the Border

Filed under: International — DRJ @ 10:16 pm

An auto accident in El Paso, Texas, apparently led to an hour-long gun battle near the Zaragoza International Bridge that links El Paso to Juarez. The FBI is investigating because U.S. officers at the bridge may have shot at the SUV as it fled across the Zaragoza bridge into Juárez.

if the ICE personnel had a Javelin, there wouldn’t be any questions, nor would there be any problems.

except for maybe the Mexican government (joke) who needs a nice big margarita glass of STFU.

  2. The border has never been more secure…nothing to see here folks. At least this stuff is getting reported. Big Ears, Holder and Jimmy Nap are so far on the wrong side of this issue, it is beyond the pale. It won’t stop them or slow them down in any way, but there is a backlash a-coming and it won’t be purdy.
I will send more money to Gov. Brewer in the morning for the legal defense fund.

  3. Hey Red, do you mean an AMC Javelin to pursue them, or is it some kind of weapon of which I know nothing?

I have always wondered why the border could not be as heavily fortified as the Korean DMZ.

  5. I think a video of Red’s “Javelin” may be at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4676689280836528319#

It should be more effective than the alternative at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbPdqoHGaoY

  6. Retractable spike strips or strong gates should be installed at entry/exit points. Even for the govt. this shouldn’t break the bank.

  7. Need some of those hydraulically retractable bollards, the ones that when you crash into them, it takes days (hopefully, weeks) to make repairs and get the road passable again.
The best punishment for the lawlessness in Northern Mexico is a complete closure of the border to vehicle and foot traffic.
It would be tragic if the Mayor of Juarez were unable to get across the river to his office from his home in El Paso.

  8. I sure hope those U.S. Officers who fired at the SUV escaping to Mexico were Hispanic. Otherwise . . .

  9. In case it wasn’t clear, the Javelin is the updated built-from-scratch man-portable anti-tank system that pretty much replaced the LAW rocket and other such systems.

  10. AD – Better if we close the border during the day when he is at work in Juarez.

DanP – The US Officers who were persecuted for shooting at a border running felon were Hispanics.
