Helen Thomas Provides the Hamas Point of View

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 7:41 pm

I miss Tony Snow.

Meanwhile, we’re learning more about jihadists on the flotilla.

And here is much better video than we previously had, showing us the beginning of the horrible supposed Israeli atrocity, which has been compared to 9/11 by the Turkish foreign minister.

(Thanks to Allahpundit for all links.)

  1. That’s just painful. Really. She needs to go retire….to her eternal resting place.

  2. I think it is safe to say that Helen is as relevant as she has always been.

  3. I updated the post with some more information.

  6. Smug Gibbsy can’t mock her the way Snow could because she’s part of Obama’s base.

  7. This video makes a pretty clear case for those who care about the truth.

“compared to 9/11 by the Turkish foreign minister”- Where is VP Cheney when we need him?

I would like to see him treat the Turkish foreign minister to a private showing of this video, the collapse of the Twin Towers, and make a request for clarification on his comments. If none satisfactory are forthcoming, then some of Cheney’s brand of “frank talk that is deserved” would be in order, and that Turkey would be treated as a third rate terrorist state until they decided to rejoin the sane and rational world.

  8. American police would use deadly force if their own were being beaten with metal pipes and thrown overboard.
If I am hitting an LAPD guy like a drum with a pipe and his partner doesn’t shoot me?
    Dude… get a new partner.
A metal pipe is a deadly weapon even though I’ve heard several liberal commentators say the “peace activists” were “unarmed”.
I’ll gladly fight any of the commentators if they agree to drop down a rope and me and five of my friends get to beat them like pinatas on the way down with pipes. Then I can explain to them that it was all fair because we were “unarmed”.

  9. Helen Thomas? Any relation to Danny Thomas?

  10. How can the folks that control such things – assuming someone does – continue to let this hag show her face ANYWHERE????????

  11. A recent analysis of this by Stratfor cited reports that the commando’s were armed with paint-ball guns, with only live ammunition for their handguns. At first, I thought that this was too crazy to be true. But you can clearly see in the second video posted above the outline of paintball guns in the hands of the Israeli commando’s. Anyone who has ever played paintball will recognize the large “T” shaped tube above the gun that holds the paint balls. You can see this clearly toward the end of the video.

Sure seems to belie any claim that the commando’s boarded the ship with the intent to commit a masacre. Hell, paint balls aren’t even a good non-leathal weapon. I would have at least wanted to use rubber bullets, but of course in close quarters like this those can also cause some significant injury.

  12. You can see a clear picture of a paintball gun in the hands of one of the Israeli commando’s at 0:51 to 0:54 in the video as the commando fires it at the stick weilding occupants of the ship to try and force them back.

    CStudent (6bcbb4)

  13. CStudent – Yes they are paint ball guns but the ammunition used in cases like this is usually filled with something like pepper spray not paint.

And they are properly called “less-lethal” not “non-lethal” as the Boston Police found when a woman was killed after being hit in the eye socket by a peper ball round during a melee outside Fenway Park.

  14. I’m not posting this because Helen Thomas has been an old hag since 1966 and regrets the day that Joseph Stalin died because she never had a chance.

I’m posting just to see if it shows up.

  15. Oh well, it didn’t work. Time goes by.

  16. Ah Helen. A rara avis indeed; and as tough an old bird as a decrepit turkey vulture. Of course nobody in their right mind pays any attention to her.

  17. How bad is it when you actually find yourself rooting for Gibbs?

But please forgive Helen Thomas. I have it on good authority that she was Stalin’s camp mistress during the Soviet-Polish War in 1920.

are you kidding? she was a pack mule in the Army of the Potomac, hauling Mathew Brady’s gear around: that’s how she got her start in the news business. 😀

  19. Helen has always hated America. Her fondness for the Kennedy admistration was simply an act to hide her responsiblity. Helen Thomas was behind the wall above the grassy knoll that day in Dallas .

But don’t think that the fact that her parents were Lebanese lead you to think that she has anything but unlimited love for the Jooooooooooossss!

  23. Turkey is a more important ally to the U.S. than Israel is.

Looks like we’re gonna have to choose.

  24. Helen Thomas? Any relation to Danny Thomas?
    Danny was the one who was “funny ha-ha”;
    Helen is just “funny peculiar”!

Turkey is a more important ally to the U.S. than Israel is.
Turkey stopped being an important ally when they refused transit to the 4thID in 2003 in the build-up to Operation Iraqi Freedom.

  25. I thought peace activists were supposed link arms during the day and sing/drone “Where Have all the Flowers Gone” until it drove the cops and National Guard half insane.
Then you show up at night and throw the rocks, bottles and the maybe the odd Molotov cocktail.
Burn some trash. Get mowed over by the mounted police and take a nightstick to the forehead, back, shoulders and legs and then spend the rest of your night handcuffed to a fence inside a parking lot.
Then in the morning because you’re 13, they call your mom and you get home and mom has the neighbor nail your window shut

  27. Turkey has been steadily moving into Iran’s orbit for the past few years as the Islamist government of Erdogan moves against the military. A number of army officers have been arrested for “treason” and the courts are being subverted. It’s a shame. It is years since they could be called an ally. The failure to allow passage to the 4th ID was a milepost in that path.

Now, it is time for us to pay attention to the Kurds in Turkey. We have tip toed around that subject to try to enlist Turkey as an ally on Iraq but it has been unsuccessful. The Iraqi Kurds would like a US base in their territory. It is time to give serious consideration to this. Of course, Obama won’t but the Republican Congress may and should.

  28. What do you guys think of India, our ally, condemning Israel’s actions yesterday?

    Okeefe (53735f)

  29. It looks like the whole world except America is eventually going to condemn

India has because its infrastructure is almost 100% reliant on Gulf LNG and crude

  32. I’d rather hear the Hamas point of view than welfare titty AIPAC’s anyday. The racist tribal chieftans and their fellow travelers like most of the Republican and Democrat elected officials party should be ashamed. Have you no cujones? What does Israel want? How high should we jump to give it to them?

    David Brown (69f4e8)

  33. Thank you for your honesty, David. It is rare when people actually admit what you did.

    JD (9d8cb8)

  34. What does Israel want?

To have their liberal, pluralistic democracy living side-by-side in peace with their neighbors. Is that too much to ask? Or should we be kowtowing to the totalitarian kleptocrats who rule at the mercy of an extremist Islamic ideology? Which way do you want it, David?

    JVW (221d56)

  35. David, I’m all in with Israel–so far, I haven’t heard a single Israeli yell “Death to America”, and I don’t think Judaism is based upon the idea of world-wide domination and enslavement of non-Muslims.

    Rochf (ae9c58)

  36. David Brown, are you calling Israelis “racist tribal chieftains” ? Are you trying to establish just how utterly clueless and lacking in the sense of irony you are?

    If so, goal.

I can try to break it down for you:

First, you make no sense. Second, you ask if some people, unnamed, have testicles. Some do, some don’t. Third, I think Israel wants to exist. Fourth, about as high as when you wrote the post.

Thanks for playing the game. What do we have for the contestants today, Johnny?
