“You have the charisma of a damp rag and the appearance of a low grade bank clerk.”
Can we get this guy to come yell at Obama?

Damn teabaggers! And raaaaacist, too! I think I saw a Palin button on his lapel.
Chris (6b0332) — 2/27/2010 @ 3:50 pmlonger version…..
gotta love it. %-)
redc1c4 (fb8750) — 2/27/2010 @ 4:11 pmI assume the speaker is a Euroskeptic. I love what he said. And if I understand him correctly, he’s right. The more sovereignty each country gives up, the lesser the role of each national government in its own affairs, and the less voice the people will have in the management of their future.
Alan (07ccb5) — 2/27/2010 @ 4:26 pmEl Presidente, sitting there, has the manner and look of Laurence Olivier in Marathon Man – which would be very reassuring.
AD - RtR/OS! (7d5017) — 2/27/2010 @ 5:33 pmLoved the denigration of Belgium as a nation.
well, Belgium is smaller than San Bernadino county by over 8000 square miles, so its not exactly imposing in its majesty.
redc1c4 (fb8750) — 2/27/2010 @ 5:40 pmWhere was this guy back when the EU first started taking away the sovereignty of its members? Entire generations of Europeans have no idea that a country should be ruled by their own elected citizens and not committees of their neighbors.
Even Clinton knew better than to submit the Kyoto treaty to the senate. He knew we didn’t want the bozos like Gore that negotiated that POS treaty to make decisions for us.
MU789 (a05870) — 2/27/2010 @ 5:51 pmInterestingly, Los Angeles County is less than one-half the area of Belgium, but has almost the same population:
L.A.Co…9.86MM v Belgium…10.83MM.
And, if memory serves, San Berdoo Co. is the largest county in the United States – or at least the Lower-48; whilst L.A.Co. is the most heavily populated county in the Nation.
AD - RtR/OS! (7d5017) — 2/27/2010 @ 5:54 pmWhat the hell is it with the British and their dislike of Belgium?
Scott Jacobs (d027b8) — 2/27/2010 @ 10:20 pmmaybe how many of them died there during Big Mistake #1?
redc1c4 (fb8750) — 2/27/2010 @ 10:27 pm> Can we get this guy to come yell at Obama?
Hey, give this guy a contract! Let him yell at Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, the rest of Libtardia’s finest.
IgotBupkis (79d71d) — 2/27/2010 @ 10:45 pmMaybe they’re mad about these 10 reasons Belgians hate England, Scott.
DRJ (daa62a) — 2/27/2010 @ 10:46 pmIt was designed, but not for the personal political gain of the attacker, but for the victim and the attacker.
There is a plan behind everything. The victim of the attack is probably the attacker’s best friend in the chamber. Make the EU communists come to the victim’s defense. The victim played it well by not playing it like he was injured by the attack, because that would be overplaying his hand.
But if you don’t like that explanation, then the victim can only be provoked into proving his accuser wrong. That makes the attack effective because it carries out the attacker’s agenda.
j curtis (5126e4) — 2/27/2010 @ 11:36 pmI love the way the Brits pronounce “clerk” (as “clark,” as in Mr. Kent a/k/a Superman’s alter ego).
Beldar (7f313b) — 2/28/2010 @ 9:58 amOh, and DRJ, thanks for the “10 Reasons” list. I was particularly amused by #2: “Their [i.e., the Brits’] language is universal. So they refuse to even try to speak ours when they get lost over here.” This is particularly funny because there is no “Belgian” language, but rather, the Kingdom of Belgium has three appropriated three foreign languages as its own “official languages” — German (or “Austrian,” as it’s known to Pres. Obama), Dutch (a/k/a Flemish in its local variation), and French. Given the choice of those three, I don’t blame any Brit (or American) who decides to stick with English in Oostende or Bastogne. In my admittedly brief travels through Belgium (three or four pass-throughs which cumulatively have amounted to less than two days, I’m sure), I’ve encountered no particular hostility … to my money.
Beldar (7f313b) — 2/28/2010 @ 10:10 amBelgium is a real place? I don’t think so.
SPQR (26be8b) — 2/28/2010 @ 10:43 amBelgium is a real place?
It must be, thousands of American GI’s are buried there!
AD - RtR/OS! (dbf36d) — 2/28/2010 @ 12:05 pmI don’t know, AD, did you read Lyle’s piece? 😉
