Drudge: Health Emergency at Obama Compound (Updated)

A Drudge Report banner states there is a health emergency at the Hawaii compound where the Obama family is vacationing. Apparently it is not the President, who was observed leaving a golf game and returning abruptly to the compound.
I hope it’s nothing serious but it sounds like it might be.

UPDATE: An AP report indicates the child of one of Obama’s friends was hurt and has been taken away by ambulance. Obama has returned to his golf game.
UPDATE 2: This report says the child had a minor injury.

Am sorry to hear this and also hope nothing serious is going on.
Hope it’s OK to express some disappointment – since I’m feeling quite a bit of it just now, sorry to say – to see that our President will leave a golf game over a “personal matter” but won’t cut short a vacation when something very serious does, in fact, happen in terms of many Americans’ safety. IOW it’s just another instance (like the date night which cost much and inconvenienced many, and the superfantastic inauguration blowout and on and on and on) of Obama comes first and when it comes to convenience or sacrifice on his part, Americans can, basically, buzz off.

Maybe it’s me but I prefer my Presidents to fight terrorism and fight for the safety of Americans in person rather than over a Blackberry or cell phone.
Perception and appearances are everything. And as NOYK points out, it’s a slap in the face of the American public to see him willing to rush off the golf course for a friend’s emergency, but not so much for his country’s emergency.
