Lawyer: Hasan May Be Paralyzed
[Guest post by DRJ]
John P. Gilligan, the attorney for Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, says his client may be paralyzed:
“The Army psychiatrist accused in the fatal shootings at Fort Hood may be paralyzed from the waist down after being shot multiple times during the attack, his attorney told The Associated Press on Friday.
Civilian attorney John Galligan said Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan told him that he had no feeling in his legs and extreme pain in his hands. Hasan, who was shot four times by civilian police officers, said doctors told him the condition may never improve.”
I’m sure Hasan hurts but if he was the shooter, then his own acts led to his injuries. If that’s the case, I hope when people consider Hasan’s pain, they compare it to the suffering he caused so many innocent people.

If anyone expresses any “feelings” towards this lower life form other than revulsion, then they’re fairly hopeless human beings to begin with.

Dopey (a812c5) — 11/13/2009 @ 12:32 pmThis lawyer has not been dealt a winning hand, but I hope he can deal, personally. I also hope we learn everything in Hasan’s head.
I wouldn’t mind him being sentenced to life, if he’s truly in great pain.
Dustin (bb61e3) — 11/13/2009 @ 12:33 pmThe fact he is alive is more than he deserves.

Agreed. At least some good news as obama f—s up the war on terror.

AD - RtR/OS! (e029b6) — 11/13/2009 @ 12:36 pmWhen they put Hasan in front of the firing squad, I hope the worst shots in the Army are assigned to it, with the worst weapons and ammunition. Hopefully, the execution would take hours.

Awwwwwww…..poor soul. Does it hurt? A**hole!

Fyi, my understanding is when they use a firing squad, all but one of the rifles have blanks in it. that way there is no way anyone can know which shot was real and made the difference.
A.W. (e7d72e) — 11/13/2009 @ 12:52 pmI think just one rifle has the blanks, no? That’s how it was on the tv this one time anyway.
happyfeet (71f55e) — 11/13/2009 @ 12:54 pmOne thing about cops, they do get a lot of center shots in. We always noticed the number of spine injuries in GSW victims where the shooter was a cop. It must be all that practice. OK by me and maybe the word should get out. Point a gun at a cop and never walk again. Anybody notice all the kids in wheelchairs at gang funerals ?
Mike K (2cf494) — 11/13/2009 @ 12:54 pmHow about if we just strap him to the muzzle of a 155-Howitzer…
AD - RtR/OS! (e029b6) — 11/13/2009 @ 12:56 pmEven using a “blank” his ass will be in three counties.
We are supposed to care? I guess his lawyer has to go through the motions, (no pun intended lawyer dudes) and play the sympathy card out of the gate.
Execute him after a prolonged period of suffering that includes hot Jewish chicks mocking his johnson and “watering” his favorite book.

AD - RtR/OS! (e029b6) — 11/13/2009 @ 12:59 pmI do believe that Hasan should be told that a non Muslim woman did the deed to paralyze him below the waist. Nothing like adding a little salt to the wound.
And yup, I think cops are trained to aim for center of mass–which means spine injuries if the target survives. Their object is to put the target down now, and since very few of them ever actually have to fire their weapon during their career, better to hit the big target. Leave the eyeball head shots to the snipers. Cops are in up close and personal situations with a handgun.

That makes fourteen people who have no feelings in their legs from this “tragedy”, correct?
Or is it fifteen?
I’ll feel bad for all but one of ’em.

The Emperor (82e13a) — 11/13/2009 @ 1:14 pmI do have to wonder, however: as Major Hasan was shouting, “Allahu Akbar!” and gunning down all of those innocent people, killing fourteen of them, didn’t he expect to martyr himself and go to his 72 white grapes? Shouldn’t we expect this brave Islamic Mujahid to mount not a defense, but make a proud statement of his actions, to proclaim boldly his accomplishments for Allah, against the infidels? Shouldn’t we expect him to not fear the death penalty, but to ask for it, nay, to demand it?

Maybe the death penalty is what he wants.

Then why is complaining of numbness down his legs and excruciating pains in his hands? The son-of-a-bitch wants to live. Next he will beg for his life and plead insanity. Just wait for it.

You know if you follow me all over the web you will see that i am pretty gung ho on disability rights. but i say that if there are any wheelchair ramps to the death chamber, we actually take them out and force him to crawl to the electric chair. 🙂
Btw, it might be cruel, but it won’t be unusual if we do it often enough.
A.W. (e7d72e) — 11/13/2009 @ 2:01 pmSo reality just turned around and bit Major Hasan, the would-be “martyr”, in the ass. He’s in pain and may be paralyzed forever, due ENTIRELY to his own hateful actions.
Must suck to be you, eh, Hasan?
You get no sympathy from me.
A_Nonny_Mouse (57cacf) — 11/13/2009 @ 2:17 pmLucky for the Major he’s not in France. Some nice French cop would have capped his a** after he was down.
glenn (757adc) — 11/13/2009 @ 2:35 pmThe firing squad is no longer an option. However, if it was an option, only one of the rifles would be loaded with a blank. If the prisoner is not killed by the first volley, the officer in charge of the firing squad fires a bullet from his pistol into the prisoner’s head at point blank range. The duties of a firing squad used to be in the Drills & Ceremonies Manual.

As someone who has taken care of spinal cord patients, I will add to your fund of knowledge by commenting that many of these fellows have active tent poles, so to speak, and friends of mine on the spinal cord service used to catch girls sneaking in at night.

Mike K (2cf494) — 11/13/2009 @ 3:02 pmI wonder how he explains this fate. If Allah was really supporting his mission, why leave him alive, but crippled and suffering, in the hands of Americans?
Of course, the same argument fails the Jews and Christians in various respects, but those groups are far less likely to be associated with this kind of ‘god justifies it’ attack.

I doubt anyone really thinks he didn’t do this. Though I did see a hotair link to some kid claiming this was another inside job for whatever horrible thing they think we got out of this.
Dustin (bb61e3) — 11/13/2009 @ 3:42 pmDustin asked:
Oh, nothing makes a better martyr than personal suffering; surely you knew this!
And as Major Hasan proclaims proudly to the court, “I did it to strike at the infidels! Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu very Akbar!” he will show the rest of his Muslim brethren true courage.

Well that would be a nice start to some serious karma.
There is no amount of physical suffering he could go through that would, or could, possibly compare to the suffering of the families now bereft of their loved ones.
I have to wonder what his rehabilitation and surgeries (if necessary) will cost the government? And there is a sinking thought that because of the loud demand for sensitivity toward his

nk (df76d4) — 11/13/2009 @ 6:23 pmLet us pray for Hasan
I pray that he comes to emotional and sincere understanding of the devastation he wrought
I pray that he atones for what his actions by making himself an example that he is not a hero, that what he did was a mortal sin and that Hasan, before his death – educates those who think that moments like his were not the finest moments in Islam and renounces inmans who preach this msg and shows that a jihad is nothing more than random unspeakable violence.
EricPWJohnson (9ba6a1) — 11/13/2009 @ 6:41 pmWell, now there is conjecture (leaks to the media) that Hasan was jilted by a lover, most probably a gay lover.
Sexual repression of all kinds is kind of a hallmark of radical Islam, isn’t it?
