More Questions About Hasan, Including Possible Money Ties to Pakistan

The Dallas Morning News reports authorities are looking into whether Nidal Malik Hasan recently wired money to Pakistan, although the source of the report is unclear:

“Authorities have been examining whether Fort Hood massacre suspect Nidal Malik Hasan wired money to Pakistan in recent months, an action that one senior lawmaker said would raise serious questions about Hasan’s possible connections to militant Islamic groups.

Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich., said sources “outside of the [intelligence] community” learned about Hasan’s possible connections to the Asian country, which faces a massive Islamist insurgency and is widely believed to be Osama bin Laden’s hiding place.”

Hasan’s reportedly made $90K a year but spent very little, including just $300 a month on an apartment. Fox News reports a search of Hasan’s apartment also revealed HIV prescriptions and drugs:

“Among the items reportedly found in his upstairs apartment: bottles of vitamins and medications stuffed in a shoebox for which Hasan had obtained prescriptions or, in some cases, that he had prescribed for himself.

Combivir, a drug used to treat HIV, was in the stash with about a dozen pills left in the bottle, the Dallas Morning News reported. It had been given to Hasan in 2001 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, the newspaper said.

It wasn’t known why Hasan had the HIV medication or whether he was taking it. Combivir also has been prescribed to medical workers to prevent exposure to HIV in needles.”

  1. Oh dear. Hot Air is reporting that he had SoA on his BUSINESS CARD which stands for “Soldier of Allah.”

  2. Gazzer _ Thats been reported for some time. I think Michelle Malkin may have had it up first.

  3. Look, I just want to say to all you wingnuts that its not fair to label Hasan an al qaeda operative. just because there are pictures on the web of him taking a long walk on the beach with Mohammed Atta, doesn’t mean he sympathized with al Qaeda. And the video showing him giving Osama bin Laden a “Lewinsky” is equally not evidence. You wingnuts make me sick with your bigotry.

  4. btw, yes, the sockpuppeteer is a joke post. yes, that is me. no, i am making all that about hasan giving OBL a lewinski up.

And the fact that its not clear i was making that up says everything about how ridiculous the army’s negligence has been. although it is fair to wonder if it is just their shrinks who are this negligent.

I am at the point where if i was a family member of one of the victims, i would look into suing the government for its collossal f— up. i haven’t checked the rules on suing the government for a while but i assume it is pretty much impossible, but someone has got to pay. this is ridiculus.

  5. Btw, it is equally unfair to say that just because Hasan said, as he shot our soldiers, “I am killing you in the name of al Qaeda, and because I hate America” to assume he is some kind of terrorist supervisor. Look, he is just excercising freedom of speech, okay?

    The Sockpuppeteer (e7d72e)

  6. Dang brain fart. i mean to say “terrorist sympathizer” not “supervisor.” sigh.

  7. If I was a Colonel, and my Major has ‘Solder of ____’ on his business card, be it ‘blacks’ ‘whites’ ‘creole’ ‘Texas’ ‘Jesus’ or ‘Allah’, I would flip out.

  8. But, But, That would be so judgemental.

  9. I know, AD… it’s almost as if we expect the officers in the Army to show leadership skill, and loyalty to the country over their personal career goals.

I love the Army, and it really pains me to disrespect her, but these officers failed their oaths. The FBI let this slide too. I want careers to end over this. More than a couple of them, too.

I know the real problem stems from the top… both the lack of personal safety (guns) and a PC climate of guilty until proven innocent, bullshit EO investigations ruining careers, sensitivity training, etc. But our officers were the first and last line of defense, and should have done much more than they did. the FBI should have called commanders. If they know of other officers in contact with Al Qaida, they need to pick up the phone right now, and call commanders.

  10. It proves nothing. So what if he has links with AQ? So what if he has OBL’s face tattooed on his ass? So what? So what if he killed those poor soldiers in the name of Allah? It proves nothing. All this is is assassination of character. The bigotry and sheer hatred on this blog is despicable.
    Infidels!

  11. Either that is sarcasm, or you have just, once again, proven your Moron creds.

    AD - RtR/OS! (05d966)

  12. Heh, AD. Why do you want to jump to conclusions on this Hasan case? I mean, he just snapped. Right? Of course I am being sarcastic. Sorry you couldn’t tell. Whose the moron now? 🙂

    The Emperor (82e13a)

  13. I haven’t jumped to any conclusions:
Hasan is a POS, by his own actions:
and you, are a P/A-Moron by your own history.

    AD - RtR/OS! (05d966)

  14. AD, Emperor is making fun of the concept that it would be ‘jumping to conclusions’ to realize that Hasan was a jihadist terrorist.

I’m glad most on the left and right can agree that this was EXACTLY what the War on Terror is fighting against.

    Dustin (bb61e3)

  15. #13
You still don’t get it, do you? I am not interested in a fight with you. I have made my position on this Hasan case very clear. And yes I believe this is an act of terrorism. My sarcastic comments up thread are just what they are, sarcasm. Now move along and find someone to disagree with, sport. Co-moron-ugh! Excuse me.

    The Emperor (82e13a)

  16. now, now, let’s be fair. the empty roar has his head straight on this. shocking, I know…

but empty, let’s face it, it is hard to tell parody from reality these days…

    a.w. (dd0550)

  17. You ain’t bad yourself, A.W. That’s no parody.

    The Emperor (82e13a)

  18. “Laden a “Lewinsky” is equally not evidence”. HIV meds? It seems that all Arabs/Islamist (including someone’s president) like to bust the butt and chew the fat so don’t be shocked.

    Scrapiron (996c34)

  19. Let’s just hope that this Hasan was not working with a virological agent. I know it sounds absolutely ridiculous. So does the rest of this story, though.

If he had AIDS, or suspected he did, I guess that might have sent him over the edge. That and the order from Al Qaida for individual attacks that went out right before this attack.

    Dustin (bb61e3)

  20. Oh, I’m referencing the report that he was taking a medication for people exposed to AIDS.

    Dustin (bb61e3)

  21. @19
If he had AIDS I am guessing he would have preferred to have unprotected sex with as many partners as possible. As an act of terror. That would have gotten him more victims, I think. Yes. Laugh. Am laughing too.

    The Emperor (82e13a)

  22. Dustin,

I think the article says the prescription was from 2001 — maybe he got a needle stick and took the medicine as a prophylactic? — but there seem to be daily surprises about Hasan so who knows.

    DRJ (dee47d)

  23. DRJ, I certainly hope this is completely innocent. It probably is. Thanks for telling me that the medicine was from 2001. I had missed that detail.

A Major in our military could do much more damage. It’s scary to think about it. I do not think this Hasan has anything else in store for us, but he wasn’t even trying to hide his jihad. What if 20 more Al Qaida terrorists spent a few years learning how to be naval aviators? Or nuclear technicians on a submarine?

Just not good thoughts, these days, about our military, and the FBI that should have their back.

    Dustin (bb61e3)

  24. Btw, apparently Hasan is paralyzed. above the law sarcastically says “I care.” but i do. i am hoping that the man’s d–k was shot off. and if he can’t walk, then he can’t run either.

    Good.

  25. So, what will be the response of our Government to Major Rag-Head’s co-conspirators in a foreign country? Worse, what will be the response of our Government if it is revealed that a foreign Government conspired with Major Rag-Head? The response (retribution) must be SWIFT and DECISIVE, or these @%$#&*’s will do it again.

    Ashton O'Dwyer (1f1bbb)

  26. Ashton O’Dwyer has all the hallmarks of Killgore Trout planting more racism on threads, and using that as evidence of racism for a blog.

There’s nothing wrong with an Arab serving in the Army. There is something unfortunate about our soldiers defending scum who call people ‘rag-head’.

Of course, if we find out that Hasan had help, we have to kill those people.
