Revising the Present

Via Hot Air, the Chairmen of the House and Senate Foreign Relations Committees want the Library of Congress to retract the CRS finding that Honduras had the authority to remove former President Manuel Zelaya from office:

“[Senator John] Kerry and [Rep. Howard] Berman, however, said the report “contains factual errors and is based on a flawed legal analysis that has been refuted by experts from the United States, the Organization of American States and Honduras.”
***
A spokeswoman for the Library of Congress said the library would not comment on the letter, but that it stands by its report as delivered in August.”

I’ve heard of re-writing history but this is re-writing the present. Nevertheless, the good news is the Library now plans to post its report online.

  1. If John Kerry isn’t careful, he will overtake Jimmy Carter in stupidity.

  2. Meanwhile, Daniel Ortega really did act illegally to retain power by creating a fraudulent court decision removing the legal impediment to his taking another term, and the Obama administration says nothing about it.

    Beyond belief.

  3. #2, SPQR said, “…and the Obama administration says nothing about it.”

It’s not beyond belief, it’s true, and it’s standard operating procedure for the International Brotherhood of Marxist Dictators. Obama earned his union card.

Obama turned his back on Honduras for upholding their own Constitution, then he lied about it to the American people. Honduras in fact followed their Constitution, yet Obama said that Honduras had violated it’s laws, That’s not only a bald faced lie, it’s a cynical and calculated perversion of the very concept truth itself.

Yet, when Daniel Ortega ran roughshod over the Constitution of Nicaragua, Obama looked the other way. That’s no accident either, it’s how a wannabe tyrant undermines democracy and supports dictators.

Obama showed his true colors, his overt lies on the one hand, and his silence about Nicaraguan tyranny on the other is a public display of approval for totalitarianism. Up front and personal, and for all the world to see.

  4. Kerry helped the VC in France. He’s a straight up traitor. No big deal to him to lie to protect a fellow monster.

  5. The truth will out about this stuff in the long term. Honduras, Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan, Iran, Nicaragua, and on and on.

Kerry’s actions here are just another element to a story that will simply not go away for the democrats. It’s a story that includes Kerry’s actions in France regarding the Vietnamese, his lies about the horrible Cambodian tyrants, Carter’s horrible actions leading to the US backing Mugabe over democracy, and many, many other examples of absolute horrors.

Occasionally, the Democrats do not support monsters. When Clinton demanded regime change in Iraq (during a sex scandal, of course) or carpet bombed the people of Kosovo in a manner reminisent of Jhenjis Khan. But it’s either half assed support of the good, or absolutely backward support of the evil.

This right here is why jackass John Mccain would have been a tremendous, tremendous improvement over Obama. I firmly believe that the difference is millions of people living in freedom vs tyranny and death.

  6. What Barcky and the Dems have done to the Hondurans is disgusting. That they keep doubling down on their asshattery is even worse. Eventually, they will finally utter something correct, on accident, and then try to claim that was their position all along.

  7. Hanoi John ‘traitor’ Kerry may never quite catch JC in the stupid department but Dimmy got
Americans killed because he’s stupid. Hanoi John did in on purpose with a plan. If I found Kerry, President O’Dumbo and a stray dog laying on the interstate in heavy traffic I’ll try to rescue the dog and force traffic to run over the others.

  8. Mr. Theresa Heinz – Kerry said that there “were literally hundreds” of Mai Lai massacres during his congressional testimony. He never recanted, never apologized to his fellow soldiers for that outrageous smear. Quite a war hero.

  9. Good point, Dmac. Kerry tried to “change the present” while the war was still going on. It’s like when the Chimpanzee-In-Feces says that abortions won’t be paid for by the health care bill, when provisions to support Planned Parenthood are built into the thing.

  10. When Reagan invaded Grenada, they found letters from Democrat Congressmen to the Marxist dictatorship in Grenada. The NSA intercepted telephone calls from Democrat Congressmen to Ortega and other Sandanistas discussing strategy to frustrate Reagan and the Contras. This is not new. It does need to be exposed every time Democrats skirt treason.

  11. Don’t forget Teddy’s close relationship with the KGB. Teddy sabotaged Carter with the KGB’s help.
