Obama vs Fox News makes more sense than Obama vs Raging Wildfire, but barely.

  1. And the enemy of the State is … FOX!

Korea and Iran can rest easy.

  2. “They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air. And that’s fine. But let’s not pretend they’re a news network the way CNN is.”

And how would that be, Anita Dunn? Fair and balanced? Non-biased? Nothing but the facts, m’am?

    Paging Susan Rosen, please.

  5. Well, to be fair, if Glen Beck would only HELP Wolf Blitzer carry the water for Obama then Fox could be real news. I mean, Wolf is old and can’t do all that SNL fact checking by himself. Or in one hour. How effective can CNN be with those ratings anyway?

Who is the enemy in that your quote, Icy?

  7. Shouldn’t Nobel Peace Prize winners be reaching out to their enemies to seek peace?

Or does that only apply to enemies that actually want to kill us like the Taliban and not to a news channel that doesn’t run enough stories about John Ensign?

If Anita Dunn wants to be a Fox program manager, shouldn’t she submit a resume and apply like anyone else? I’m betting she would not get hired.

  8. 7, lovey, you are really dense today. Any critic of the Obamassiah is the enemy. People who want to kill us, they are Obamassiah’s friends.

You are beyond stupid. Unless you are a sock puppet of Icy, I really don’t see how that comment refers to you.

  12. “What I think is fair to say about Fox — and certainly it’s the way we view it — is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party,” said Anita Dunn, White House communications director, on CNN. “They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air. And that’s fine. But let’s not pretend they’re a news network the way CNN is.”
She is right. Fox News is a Republican attack dog. Any honest observer can tell that. And it is fair game for the White House to attack back. They are not a neutral News agency like CNN tries to be most of the time. Sometimes “Fox” sounds like “faux”!

    The Emperor (1b037c)

  13. 13, pcd
And you call yours a “life”? Really?

    The Emperor (1b037c)

  14. Anita Dunn is really Baghdad Bob in drag. Democrats can’t seem to help themselves, they’re always surrounded by such obvious fools, malcontents, and unemployables. Maybe they don’t want to look bad by having competent people around, or just need cartoon characters in the picture to make themselves seem normal in contrast.

Truly, I thought Clinton’s palace guard was the prize winning idiot menagerie of the modern era, but Obama’s only in his first year and making a very strong showing. I may have to rethink my menageries.

  15. If people would actually watch FOX news, say for a week. Watch and listen to the news, not the opinion programs like Beck. They would have a much better appreciation for it. I’ve tried watching MSNBC on many occasions; much of it is sickening. I will watch and get news from CNN (and their website) – but they too are quite a bit biased.

The trouble with some, including my father-in-law, is that they get a few snippits of coverage from other networks covering FOX news and claim that’s all FOX news aires.

    As for teh emperor…

Any honest observer can tell that

    – you are wrong. I challenge you to watch FOX and no other news for a week. (again, skip Beck and the opinion shows) Just watch the news. Hopefully you’ll begin to understand that you have been dumbed-down duped by the elite media.

  16. 15, Lovey, how do you get through the day without getting a union reeducation that rearranges your face?? Is it that you never leave mommy’s basement?

  18. Speaking of menageries, I think the fence around the White House must be to keep the animals in, not others out.

  19. You see how someone comes to a thread to offer his or her own take on the subject matter and have folks distract the thread by focusing on the commenter. It would help if we focused on the topic at hand.
    Back on topic,
you are wrong. I challenge you to watch FOX and no other news for a week. (again, skip Beck and the opinion shows) Just watch the news. Hopefully you’ll begin to understand that you have been dumbed-down duped by the elite media.

I have watched a lot of Fox to know they are not totally unbiased. Take for example the recent coverage of the Tea party rally. Was that really independent coverage or people taking a position and trying to sell it?

    The Emperor (1b037c)

  20. Well, if Fox’ coverage of the Tea-Parties was an endorsement of, and attempt to sell, the position of those who oppose Obama/Big Government; would it not be correct to also say that the other media’s lack of coverage was an attempt to denigrate, or deny, an unpalatable position in opposition to their’s?

When you say “other media’s lack of coverage” do you mean no other media covered the Tea-Party rally? Really?

    The Emperor (1b037c)

  22. That CNN reporter chick said the Chicago Tea Party was an anti-CNN rally. And she was scared for her safety.

    John Hitchcock (3fd153)

  23. The emperor,

The other networks covered it in the strict literal sense, but did they honestly really cover it? Not really, no. You have to honestly tell the story to really cover it.

CNN, the place where the teabagger slur was invented, did not cover the TEA protests. They lied a lot about what was going on, and their behavior was covered by other outlets as part of the story.

Where they trying to sell the TEA ideas? No, they were not. Fox had plenty of people on to dispute their claims, though they lost. Fox covered the event, and reality has a right wing bias.

McClellan: White House Fed Fox Talking Points
In an interview with Chris Matthews on Hardball, former White House press secretary Scott McClellan said that Fox News commentators were used as “spokespeople” and fed regular talking points.

    dir.salon.com/story/news/feature/2003/10/31/fox/index.html

“It was, I would say, about three years ago. I was assigned to do a special on the environment, some issue involving pollution. When my boss and I talked as to what this thing was all about, what they were looking for, he said to me: ‘You understand, you know, it’s not going to come out the pro-environmental side.’ And I said, ‘It will come out however it comes out.’ And he said, ‘You can obviously give both sides, but just make sure that the pro-environmentalists don’t get the last word,’ he said.”

    Stop lying, please.
And stop whining. That’s what you don’t get. The republicans used to be the bullies, but not anymore.

  25. That CNN reporter chick said the Chicago Tea Party was an anti-CNN rally

She also showed one nutbag who was carrying a sign that suggested that Obama was Hitler. Not only did she focus most of her piece towards the lone nutbag (and of course interviewed him at length), she also insinuated a strong racist viewpoint that was intended to smear the entire crowd. Watch this part of her ridiculous piece:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhmV-h5fC0o

Want to know how badly CNN was pansted? Not only did Roesgen get fired, but the entire clip of her interview was immediately taken off of YouTube at the time, and any other outlets discovered to be still carrying it were threatened with a legal suit by the smurfs at CNN. However, they couldn’t control one clip that was made by a news doc crew that was covering her storyline, and that clip was truly embarrassing to CNN, and one that they couldn’t refute – watch the other demonstrators tear Roesgen a new one after her assinine reporting:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qv0OtvfX08k

What a freaking joke CNN is, and always will be.

    Dmac (5ddc52)

  26. DMAC, that is hilarious. CNN thinks it can reshape the news by only reporting little snippets. A larouche hitler poster? OK, show that, but not the context. Don’t show the nice folks or the PUMAs or anything else. Establish a narrative that isn’t true, and then claim you’re covering the protests when Fox points out that CNN is a shit source of news.

Guess what, there was a huge TEA protest today. If anyone can provide a link to CNN’s coverage of this protest and explain where it was, I will eat my own head.

    Dustin (bb61e3)

  27. Anita Dunn is really Baghdad Bob in drag.

Baghdad Bob: “I blame Al-Jazeera – they are marketing for the Americans!”

Anita Dunn: “What I think is fair to say about Fox — and certainly it’s the way we view it — is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party.”

    Alan K. Henderson (3674e3)

  28. Say what you will about Fox, but it appears that they are by far the most balanced cable news network, according to Pew.

    http://www.journalism.org/node/13436#fn1

Sorry, but the numbers don’t lie. If you think that Fox is a right-wing outlet, it shows that you are so far to the left that even the middle seems right-wing from where you stand.

    ArcherB (5ec61e)

  29. Not at all, it shows that Fox was anti-McCain: a candidate considered one of the most liberal Republicans and certainly the most liberal Republican presidential candidate in a long time. When I was younger, it was considered normal and natural that there were some liberal Republicans and some conservative Democrats. Whatever happened to a healthy two party system? Now we just get tweedle-dee and tweedle-dum and except for the direction of insults and mud slinging, they are impossible to tell apart!

    Cristobal DeLicia (2b543f)

  30. Cristobal uses the tired cannard that there are no differences in parties as a ploy to deflect criticism away from the left, Obama, and the totally biased, Obama “Monica-ing” media.

    PCD (1d8b6d)

  31. Fox News has never used forged documents on a hit piece against President Obama.
