More Evidence That an Associate Producer of the Polanski Documentary Spammed Anonymous Comments Attacking Me

Filed under: General — Patterico @ 4:04 pm

Here is more evidence that Michelle Sullivan, associate producer of the Polanski documentary “Wanted and Desired,” was the commenter named “kitty kat” who spammed several comments onto my site defaming me and my employer, the Los Angeles County District Attorney (for whom I do not speak on this blog).

Namely, kitty kat spammed the same comment on a few threads at The Daily Beast — and then scrubbed them after I connected “kitty kat” to Michelle Sullivan.

If someone were trying to frame her, why would they do that?

The evidence is in the extended entry.

An e-mailer sends me the full text of the comment that was left at The Daily Beast:

KittyKat

Justice for the victim and Polanski cannot be won under a corrupt justice system then and now.

David Wells did not lie in the documentary. The interview was done years ago according to the director. The film premiered in 2008 worldwide. No word from Wells on his big lie until now? Me thinks Cooley is worried he will not be elected again. Clearly the LAJD has no respect for its own system but as we know corruption breeds corruption. The fact that the majority of the PRESS is IGNORING a corrupt judge in 1977 and now a corrupt DA speaks volumes.

RE: Probation Transcripts: So many case facts have been spinned, I cannot even begin to list them all. However the documentary: Roman Polanski: Wanted & Desired interviews MAJOR participants from the case and witnesses to Rittenband’s judicial misconduct who outline this heinous conduct in the film. How interesting that the PRESS also FAILS to mention that Rittenband asked a news reporter (as well as David Wells ) “What he should do with Polanski?” Ethics Violation…big time.

Also, please note that David Wells provided way too many SPECIFIC details. Lying? I don’t think so…. Let’s see if his current statement will hold up under a polygraph test, shall we?

Also, how interesting that the prosecutor Roger Gunson, says in the film ( paraphrase ) ” had he been in Polanski’s shoes, he would have fled as well.” Yes, the highly respected MORMON PROSECUTOR!!!!. The Judicial misconduct was indeed….that bad…. Oh and did I mention the 2 PRETEND hearings that Rittenband concocted? The list of misconduct and ethics violations goes on and on and on.

How interesting that the PRESS neglects to mention… that Rittenband was removed from the case.

The LAJD says its been trying to get Polanski for 30 years. When questioned, they immediately scramble to produce a press release which they post on their website with some dates and blurbs over the years…. Anybody can write a press release. Let’s see the original papers.

Seems evident that a corrupt justice department and a biased sensationalist News Media walk hand in hand. After all, an election year is coming up! Is it not?

No wonder Polanski fled. Anyone in their right mind would.

As you can see, large portions of this comment are identical to the comment that she spammed at my site (see here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here).

My e-mailer gives this link for the comment, but when you click that link, you see this message:

This user is no longer registered.

Apparently “kitty kat” decided to unregister, and thus delete her comments, right after I showed extensive evidence that “kitty kat” was Michelle Sullivan.

However, there are replies to her comment, and the first quotes the last line of the comment that my reader copied and e-mailed to me: “No wonder Polanski fled. Anyone in their right mind would.”

In addition, Google has retained ample evidence of the existence of the comment on at least two different Daily Beast postings relating to Polanski. See and this link for an example:

Kitty Kat at the Daily Beast

Or this link for proof that another part of the quote was left at The Daily Beast:

Kitty Kat at the Daily Beast 2

This link shows that “Kitty Kat” was leaving comments there.

Also, I will point out that my commenter “pesto” saw the exact same comment at The Daily Beast and quoted it in full here. Commenter Calfed saw it too.

As for the name kitty kat:

“You’re a very nosy fellow, kitty kat, huh?”

Just when you thought you’d seen it all. Check out Patterico’s blog (here and here) for mountains of evidence that the associate producer of a sympathetic Polanksi “documentary” from last year has been posting anonymous comment…

  5. “If someone were trying to frame her, why would they do that?”

One possible answer – I don’t know how probable it is – could be that someone lifted her email addy not thinking s/he would be exposed. Using someone else’s IDing info on the interwebs would open up a person to a possible civil suit by the real person. (I don’t know about criminal charges.) So the comment-deleting could be desperate a CYA attempt to avoid that legal mess.

But, then again, Occam’s Razor fits just fine here: an emotional, irrational Hollywood-type (is there any other type?) just slipped her noodle and went on a web-commenting rampage.

  6. oh. Someone should make a movie of that, Mr. Blair. People should know how scrappy the mormons were at one time. That was pretty ballsy.

In response to Chuck’s post that “the film is produced by Roman’s ex-PR Manager”: Although the term “PR Manager” is somewhat of a mystery, he must be referring to Mark Urman President of ThinkFilm who is distributing the film theatrically. Urman was Polanski’s publicist in the 1990s. Although, interviewed for the film he did not make the final cut and he most certainly did not produce the film.

Where the hell were you PUMAS the last 8 years while Bush raped and plundered this country and its citizens? Where were you bozos while Bush murdered sons and daughters in Iraq, Innocent women and children of Iraq. It took you this long to find out that there is no true democracy in this country, that both parties are comprised of major shareholders and that corporate interests rule us all? You should have fought against this truth for the last 8 years instead of now going against the party that at least will give SOME consideration to the poor and middle class who are in desperate need. We all own our votes but its not about me or you. Its about the country as a whole. You PUMAS are a joke and when McCain is elected maybe then when your children can’t read past a 5th Grade level and you can no longer afford health care and finally when your sons and daughters are drafted, maybe then you’ll get your heads out of your asses. Your points are pointless and you are no different than those crazy fundamentalist christians denouncing abortion on the sides of America’s freeways. If you can’t deal with reality then move to Canada. Don’t ruin it for those of us who can.

  18. It might could be Anne Applebaum posting as kitty kat deflecting attention onto Michelle Sullivan. Didja think of that?

What with Anne and her hubby rubbing elbows with all those European glitterati, it almost explains why Anne dug in her heels defending poor Roman on her blog. How could she face him this winter at Gstaad if she didn’t?

  19. I still don’t understand what this stupid hoochie has against mormon people

It’s because Mormons are considered Public Enemy #1 in Hollywood since the passage of Prop 8 (banning same sex marriage).

In other words, Kitty Kat is saying “If even this nutball homophobe Roger Gunson says he would have fled like Polanski, then everybody else should be ok with Polanski fleeing, too.”

Mormons, some of them, put a lot of $$$ into the “Yes on 8” campaign. In the wake of Prop 8’s success, the wannabe-sophisticates of H-Wood feel the same way about Mormons many of us feel about radical Jihadists.

  25. Hey Patterico,

Is there information available on how Polanski got out of the United States? Who helped him, etc. That would be very interesting to know.

    R. Polan (af8b36)

  26. When are these people going to wise up and realize you don’t mess around with Patterico? Bring on the facts and rational argument and make something useful happen; if you show up otherwise…

    MD in Philly (d4f9fa)

  27. If Patterico is correct, and based on the evidence, he is, I have a simple question?

Why in the world would a grown, sane woman resort to such lunacy? Polanski is a blip of nothing, the Fatty Arbuckle of the 20th Century.

    Ag80 (4254fd)

  28. R. Polan:

Based on what I’ve read, and I could be wrong, Polanski’s passport was never suspended.

I suspect he went to LAX, bought a ticket and flew to France.

    Ag80 (4254fd)

  29. The Fatty Arbuckle comparison doesn’t quite work for me. According to most accounts, Virginia Rappe died of a botched abortion. Roscoe Arbuckle was never even alone with her. He endured three sensational manslaughter trials, and although finally acquitted, his good name and his film career had been essentially ruined.

It was a case of a truly innocent man destroyed, not a case of a truly guilty man lionized.

    Lesley (996c34)

  30. I hate to say it, but am I the only one who thinks she looks too much like She Who Must Not Be Named who caused so much trouble at ProteinWisdom a couple of years ago? Same kind of intense, nutty stare person?

    JorgXMcKie (4f655d)

  31. Lesley:

I know about the Arbuckle case. Arbuckle was likely innocent of the charge that brought him down, despite the fact that his lifestyle made the charges more easy to believe.

I wasn’t really trying to make an apples-to-apples conclusion. It was more like, who really cares anymore? Arbuckle’s case happened in 1921. What is he remembered for? Being a great comedic actor or the aforementioned case? I’m sorry, in a detached way, that Arbuckle was falsely accused and vilified.

I seriously doubt that my children’s children will be dangling on grandpa’s knee wanting to hear about the injustice visited upon Polanski in 1976 and again in 2009. That’s all I’m saying.
